Good stories with (generally) good narration. No table of contents.

The stories were all very good, and the narration varied from fair to excellent. The lack of a table of contents was very annoying.
I would also like to have had a bit of a pause between stories. It would give the whole book a better flow.

Excellent Narrator, Good Collection

The narration is wonderfully done; Geraint Wyn Davies has an exceptional accent and elocution. The stories are what you would expect to find in a small, classic horror collection. I do wish Lovecraft would get included in more of these and that Mr. Wyn Davies would narrate more collections/books. Other than those extraneous complaints, it is well worth the money and should be a part of everyone's classic horror collection.

A Bit Overacted in Some, but Still Very Decent!

This audiobook on has a few classic horror stories, but they are good ones. I felt the narrator overacted a bit in some, trying to make it more dramatic. A bit of a fail but I warmed up to his voice in the end. I enjoyed his reading of The Body Snatchers the best, and does a very creepy voice at the end of A Watcher by the Dead. Recommended!

Entertaining

The stories didn't particularly *scare* me, but I believe the narrator gave the characters a quite natural feel and the writing was clever enough to keep me entertained.

Not my cup of tea

Written and read in old fashion language making it difficult to comprehend if I was not really listening. I prefer book that are easy to follow. Just not for me although I did listen (or tried) to the whole book. Sorry, thumbs down on this one.

Fantastic narration of classic horror stories

This is the 1st time I've listened to Geraint Wyn Davies. He is very talented. I'll definitely be looking for more of his work. As for the stories, it saddens me how weak our modern vocabularies have become. These stories are so eloquently written - I just don't have the words... I especially enjoyed the short "The Open Window" by Saki.

Good choice of stories

One of my favorite Saki stories, great performance on the part of Geraint Wyn Davies, he has a fantastic voice and is really good with the different characters' voices. Just wish it had been longer!

Classic stories are less scary

Big Forever Knight fan, so Mr. Wyn Davies’ narration is exceptional.

Enjoyable classic tales, though perhaps less scary than expected, are worth a listen to.

Awful narrator. Over acting.

What a frustration. Great stories but the narrator acts every word. It’s distracting. I caution you not to waste your time and resources.
