Publisher's Summary

Dex Cooper

Bassist, addict, charmer.

He came blaring into my world playful and demanding. Hiding his demons behind a panty melting smile. I knew he was bad for me but Dex made bad feel so good. So I played along with his games until he destroyed everything. With Dex Cooper, everything was a game but I’m done playing.

Siobhan Rawlings

Fiery redhead, cherry pie, mine.

She eased the cravings that ruled my body. Gave me peace from the memories that haunt me. But I knew it wouldn't last. I couldn't keep her. I destroy everything and I would ruin her if I didn't let her go. But I couldn’t do it, so I made her my wife.

She thought we were just having fun, thought this was just another game we were playing.

She’s wrong and now I have to prove to her that this time I'm playing for keeps.

Return to the world of Forgotten Legacy.

Fantastic Series so far!

Love me some rockstar series. Thomas narrates the h*ll out of these books, his talent to make the books he narrates seem like they've got a full cast blows me away. I listen at 1.5 speed and its perfect, otherwise the female voices seem too slow to me. He makes Dex's voice kind of sound like Sylvester Stallone in this book. This series definitely has some sad parts- but its nice that its a good balance and doesn't tear your heart out of your chest.

Excellent!

Finally! I feel like I have been waiting forever for Dex's story. This story was nothing short of amazing. Filled with angst, drama, and secrets galore, Guarded Addiction drew me in right from the start.

The chemistry between Dex and Siobhan was off the charts. Some of the scenes...well all I can say is HOLY HOTNESS! First we had strawberries, now we have cherries. I don't know about you but I can't look at fruit the same way anymore.

This Forgotten Legacy tattooed, bad boys series has quickly made its way onto my all-time favorites list.

Amazing

From start to finish, this book will have you coming back to see what happens next. I kept wondering why they weren't together so I was glad for the flashbacks. I think this book is intense and can be a trigger for an addict but I think it could also help someone who is also going through something like this, depends on the mindset. Amazing all together and I'm glad he found that he couldn't live without her more than the drugs and he had a great support system.

Locklear haf great emotions throughout the book and did an excellent job with the characters as usual.

Not quite what I expected

The author is a very good writer. There were things about the story that really bugged me. He specifically wanted her to have a safe word but would never let her use it. I could tell it was supposed to be cute or hot, but I feel that safe words are something to take seriously. He was was also very self absorbed. The storyline kept jumping around so I was somewhat struggling to keep track of when things were happening. This also made it feel like he was cheating on her because I would have to figure out when it was and if they ware on or off at the time.
The narration was good.

Rockstar & Cherry Pie

4.5 stars - This is a fantastic book with plenty of ups and downs and loop-de-loops. I love the nicknames and the banter! Rockstar is Dex, while Siobhan is usually Red, Cherry Pie, or Little Spitfire.

Going back and forth between present and various points in the past did make me a little crazy on more than one occasion - especially when listening and periodically missing the chapter intro. They did provide insight into reasons for things happening in the present but still had me off balance a couple of times.

These two have been keeping many secrets from each other and from their friends who are like family for years. Little by little they come into focus... and the revelations are the source of plenty of turmoil. Add that to Dex's refusal to admit he's an addict, someone trying to send him back over the edge, a sleazy landlord, and Dex's insatiable appetite for all things Cherry Pie and it spells all kinds of disaster - some fun, some... not. Very much not.

There is definitely a harrowing situation that is scary and a trigger for some.

One of my favorite things about the epilogue is that it provides an update for all of the band members, giving a glance into what is to come and some battles that are being fought privately. I 💚 these lost, broken souls. 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Thomas Locklear was the sole narrator. I really would've liked - preferred - a second, female voice. Thomas does a good job with a variety of male voices but female voices aren't his thing. Unless you are overly in love with a stage whispered raspy voice, which I'm not.

Dex and Siobhan

L Ann has done it again, this third book in the Forgotten Legacy Series is one that doesn't only feature Siobhan Rawlings and Dex Cooper, they are the main characters but we learn more about the other band members too, we catch up on Harper and Gabe, and find out what it was that made Luca into the man he is today. We find out why Luca and Dex are so close as well as so much more.

When Dex first saw Siobhan Forgotten Legacy had been discovered but he wasn't as well recognised as Gabe and Seth, so he could still go out without being mobbed. He was on a subway train, she was talking with her landlord on the phone, Dex went over having heard her end of the conversation, took the phone from her and told her landlord that he was engaged to her. When the phone call finished he told her he was going to marry her. She thought he was joking but she didn't yet know just how serious Dex was about that statement.

When Dex was younger something happened which has scarred both him and Luca, that and his bad upbringing led him to drugs, his mother giving him his first taste at age 13! He's been in rehab and nearly died several times but until he faces the demons in his past and acknowledges that he's an addict then he will never be clean.

We first met Siobhan in book one, she's Harper's best friend but what we didn't know then is that she knew Dex but was fighting her attraction to him.

The story tells us their story from their first meeting, years ago, before Siobhan met Harper right up to the present day, we learn about Dex's history, his drug abuse, everything in fact that made him how he is. The story is told from two perspectives and in different timelines as they both remember their earlier encounters. The author did such a good job of moving the story backwards and forwards letting their story unfold at just the right time with so much emotion and so many surprises I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride

I was hooked from beginning to end and I know that I will listen to it again, as indeed I will with all the books in this series, It’s a beautifully written story it’s dark and gut-wrenching, but you never feel that either of them has given up hope of finding their happy ever after together, the love they share is undeniable and through their love comes healing.

The epilogue set us up for the next book and told us what had been bothering Gabe. But is there a happy resolution for him and Harper and what will happen about Luca?

I loved this one, I laughed and I cried, I think I'm in love with Dex!

The narration of this book, the whole series, in fact, is by one of my personal favourite narrators Thomas Locklear, he's super talented and has worked his wonderful magic yet again.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Dex and Red

I loved this story when I read it the first time. The absolute drama, romance, intrigue, and emotional rollercoaster that L. Ann takes you on is incredible. My heart was so wrapped up in their journey both on their own and together. Then you add Thomas' phenomenal voice work to it and it's seriously mind-blowing!!!! What a fantastic combination. Their combined work makes me want to revisit the Forgotten Legacy crew over and over again. Freaking AMAZING.

Holy Cherries!

I have a sudden need for cherries. And that voice!!🤤❤ I loved Dex and his story and just him! I want more, but I'll happily take Luca's story next. I also loved Siobhan's grandma so much, she's so sassy! As always with this series there's wonderful world building and character development that deserves all the love!

Superb

Wow this book is another winner in this series.
Bassist and addict Dex and his Cherry Pie Siobhan this is their very rocky road to romance and believe me it is a bumpy ride.
The push and pull between these two made my head spin.
This is a darker read than the first two books I felt, but just as compelling.
Honestly listening to Dex's story and what drove him to drugs has me in tears.
The only thing that could chase his demons away was Siobhan, she calmed him loved him even before he was famous, they had a special connection that even through the years never broke.
Thomas Lockclear is just so Unique, his Narration is pure Excellence and I cannot believe it is just one narrator voicing all these characters Magnificent !!
L.Ann is just Amazing this whole story is truly incredible!
I am loving every minute listening to these books and spending time with forgotten Legacy in their chaotic rockstar life.
I cannot recommend this book and this series highly enough.
Phenomenal !!

how to describe perfection?

I thought Shattered Expectation would be my favourite of the FL audiobooks but I've had to revise this.

Dex and Guarded Addiction have jumped into first place.

The story is amazing and listening to it places a whole new perspective on it. I could get lost on the FL world fir a very long time.

Highly recommended

Book 3

I love this series! Book 3 is just as good as the first 2 and I really like Dex. You really need to read the series in order so you understand what's going on. So, pick up the first 2 audiobooks first. I can't imagine reading these without Thomas Locklear, he does such an amazing job with all the characters!

Forgotten Legacy Book 3

Guarded Addiction by L Ann
Forgotten Legacy Book 3

This series is amazing. Rockstars are complicated and sexy and Forgotten Legacy has all of this and more. Each book is of a different couple. This book is Bassist Dex Cooper’s story and his love Siobhan Rawlings is just the woman for him.

L. Ann has written another amazing book and it shows us so much into a world that can take people and destroy them yet also how relationships and love can make us want to change for the better.

Dex is a complex character who had it hard at a young age and this story takes us back to the past and shows us how the past carries our emotions and actions into the future. He’s a drug addict and he fights it throughout his life but after finding the love of his life Siobhan, he starts to see that he has so much to live for. Siobhan is such a strong willed and feisty woman and just the one for Dex. Wow the chemistry of these two is scorching. I loved how even when these two were apart they still cared about one another. They both knew they were meant for each other. They may be my favourite couple of the series but there’s still another band member who has his story to be told.

Thomas Locklear is a favourite of mine. His performances are surreal. His characters are all so distinct and different and make an audiobook unbelievably enjoyable. I continue to be amazed by his emotional and flawless voices that bring any story to life.

Hoping for more of this awesome series especially with Thomas doing them♥️

Guarded

Thomas Locklear, narration brings out the wild in the rock star characters, he is truly incredible with all his different voices .

This is Dex and Siobhan's story. Siobhan meets and befriends Dex not knowing he is a famous rock star.

Their friendship started off with Dex pretending to be Siobhan fiancé to get her creepy landlord to back off. The biggest complication in their relationship is Dex's addiction and drug use. They have a dysfunctional relationship to say the least. Siobhan, the fiery, redheaded, Dex trying to hold on to the woman he loves .

You are in for a ride, a wild ride, between the writing of L Ann and the hot narration of Thomas Locklear, hold on to your seats and undies.

Guarded Addiction!

Absolutly amazing, I enjoyed all three books and hope for one more - Luca’s.

The narrator Thomas Locklear does the caracters very well, a voice you can listening to for a long time.

The author L. Ann were new to me before this serie, she does a great job by mixing in all sort of problems.

An addiction of a story

Another great story book 3 . It’s book 3 in the series but it can listen to as a stand-alone. The author wrote a well written book, well description that you can visualize.
The hero in this one is Dex , he’s not only the bassist but a addictive that’s on the road to recovery. He’s been recovering for months and it’s working for him .

Heroine is Siobhan. Siobhan Is best friends with Harper who’s with the lead in the band . There are lots of twists and turns in this story. You see glimpses of the mains from book 1 and 2 . Grab the other two and see what goes on in the band .

The performance of Thomas Locklear was fantastic. He did the characters great. His voice is clear and strong and smooth.
