suspenseful but continues

I liked the story but was a bit disappointed in the ending. I was hoping for more. I will probably buy one more in this series to see how it all ends.

Since there is no mention in the description...

There is ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION of the Christian undertone/overtone in the short blurb, I figured I'd give other listeners a heads-up.

It had the potential to be a good suspense novel... unfortunately it was turned into nothing more than a mediocre Christian romance. And it's obvious that the author has zero experience/knowledge of law enforcement or K9 handling.

There were far too many references to god (i.e., relying on god, being where god had placed her, knowing god would protect her and her child, etc.), prayer, Christianity, and faith in general. It's supposed to be a K9 FBI/murder/suspense book, with a dash of romance; yet everything that happens returns to god/prayer. She's being shot at and her life is being threatened, she's under the protection of a team of FBI agents, but god will be the one to protect her.

At times it felt peachy. After the umpteenth reference to god and prayer within the first few chapters, I stopped listening and had hoped to return it, unfortunately I wasn't able to do so. The only reason I ended up finishing listening was because I didn't want to search for another book while driving and had already wasted a credit on it.

Aside from all of that, the narration was pleasant (albeit her little boy voice is fairly irritating)!

Rushed ending

I was enjoying this book mostly, but the ending was too rushed. That just took the enjoyment out of the build up. Overall, the characters could have been developed more. Like grandpa. But the ending was just so rushed that I was left very disappointed.

Do not bother!

This book is advertised as fictional account of FBI canine unit and the team members. Sample starts with team attempting to arrest a crime/drug lord & an agent is kidnapped. It very quickly devolves into an unbelievable & unrealistic romance between a guilt ridden agent and the woman in his protective custody. Canines are almost secondary to the storyline. The dialogue is laden with prayers to God, thanks to God etc...extremely disappointing.

I LOVED this audiobook.

Exciting from the first paragraph. Interest and story never lagged. The writer writes in word pictures. Ofcourse the dog is wonderful and adds another element of interest.
I learned a lot from this book.

Good Classified K-9 Story

I selected this book because of the title and there are dogs in the story helping people and searching for murderer. A fellow FBI agent is kidnapped and witness disappears in the beginning of the story and Leo Gallagher will not stop until he finds both of them. Leo has a trusty K-9 partner named True and go to question Alicia Duncan about what she witnessed and protects her and her son from the murderer.

My thoughts

I enjoyed this audible book. It revealed how we as individuals blame ourselves for things that are not our fought and we need God to help us to forgive ourselves.

Sweet romance with fast paced action

Nothing I like better than a book that focuses on crack FBI K-9 team. In Guardian Terri Reed introduces us to such a team. I'm not sure who I liked better the human characters or the dogs! What a team! The action in this story was also top notch; capturing my attention from the first line to the last.
The romance was sweet though I prefer my romance with a little more spice! This romance reminded me of those old movies that faded to a breeze gently blowing through an open window just when it got good! However , Terri Reed writes with a definite Christian, abstinence before marriage bent so the sweet, chaste affection is understandable. The Christian undertones are just that - light undertones. Prayers for safety and protection that fit with the suspense of the story. Very relatable!
I did tire of the main character Leo's constant protestations that he was not worthy of Alisha, especially since everything about him screamed he had faith in God's leadership in his life. So why was it so hard to accept that God had led him to his soul-mate?
The voice performance was just perfect for this selection. Callie's voice changes allowed enough distinction between characters, you could easily tell which person was speaking . The pace and tone of her reading clearly added to the suspense and tension in the action scenes. Very well done! It was like sitting in a performance of a live readers theater!
Overall it was a very good audio book selection. I am looking forward to more from this series!

Mixed Feelings

The narrator was excellent, but the story is melodramatic . Repetitious and very unnecessary exposition.
