Story
The Work is simply four questions that, when applied to a specific problem, enable you to see what is troubling you in an entirely different light. As Katie says, "It's not the problem that causes our suffering; it's our thinking about the problem." Contrary to popular belief, trying to let go of a painful thought never works; instead, once we have done The Work, the thought lets go of us. At that point we can truly love what is, just as it is.

It provides clear guidance for moving beyond the thoughts, feelings, and habits that keep you stuck—so you can heal the pain of the past and let your spirit soar. Story
In A Mind at Home with Itself, Byron Katie illuminates one of the most profound ancient Buddhist texts, The Diamond Sutra (newly translated by distinguished scholar Stephen Mitchell), to reveal the nature of the mind and to liberate us from painful thoughts, using her revolutionary system of self-inquiry called "The Work". Byron Katie doesn't merely describe the awakened mind; she empowers us to see it and feel it in action.

Story
Stephen Mitchell, the renowned translator of the Tao Te Ching, selected excerpts from that ancient text as a stimulus for Byron Katie to talk about the most essential issues that face us all: life and death, good and evil, love, work, and fulfillment. The result is an audiobook that allows the timeless insights of the Tao Te Ching to resonate anew for us today, while offering a vivid and illuminating glimpse into the life of someone who lives what Lao-tzu wrote more than 2,500 years ago.

Story
No matter how much money, status, professional success, or other types of external security one may have, very few people experience true joy and personal freedom. Byron Katie knows this reality too well. In the midst of a "normal and successful" life, Katie became increasingly depressed, and over a ten-year period sank further into rage and despair. Then, one morning in 1986, out of the blue, she had a sudden, profound insight into how the mind works.

Lacks tone, cadence and softness
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I have many of her books and audios and find her teachings very helpful. However this guided meditation sounds stilted and detached. Sounded forced and overly measured
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Very disappointed
Any additional comments?
Definitely try other Katie material, I have several of her works, but this guided meditation is awful by comparison to Louise Hay or Deepak Chopra

Horrid for Meditation
When you order something for guided meditation the last thing you want to hear is people coughing and sneezing in the background. I cannot believe they published a meditation With disgusting and distracting background noise. Very poor editing to say the least.
