Publisher's Summary

To save the only mother I’ve ever known, all I have to do is hack a tech billionaire.

My foster mother is sick. The woman who gave me a home, love, a life. I’ll do anything to find the money for her surgery, including using my skills as a hacker.

My name’s Remi, also known as Rogue Angel, and usually I work for a security company testing clients’ systems. But now a shadowy bad guy has tracked me down and given me an ultimatum.

I have to hack Rivera Tech - the biggest technology company in the world, owned by billionaire CEO, Maverick Rivera. If I do, I get paid and I can help my foster mother. If I don’t, my family is in danger.

Hacking Rivera is no walk in the park, and soon I find myself in a tantalizing game of cat and mouse with big, grumpy, and way-too-sexy Maverick. What I never, ever expected was for him to make me feel safe, or to threaten my closely-guarded heart, or to ignite every single part of me.

I can’t drag him into my mess.

But Maverick has other ideas, and he isn’t a man who takes no for an answer.

DAMN IT, THEY’VE ALL GONE NOW

A very enjoyable story as the hacker and the CEO play an entertaining game of cyber cat and mouse because she desperately needs the money to fix her family’s health problems. So she tries to sneak passed his firewalls to get to his Top Secret files.. but, when the cat catches the mouse, things aren’t what this damaged grumpy hero is expecting. And, from then on, things go deliciously right.. and despicably wrong. Suspense, drama, humor, sizzles, sex, chemistry and preloved secondary characters are all included in this entertaining and well narrated dual POV story.

Worth a credit? Yes.

Laughing …

I don’t think I’m supposed to be laughing while Remy and Mav are fighting for their lives at the end but I can’t help it. The things they are saying so mega cheese and Salinas does a hilarious accent for Remy and when screaming … Oh my gosh I just lost it.

Okay story, but fid not like the narrators.

One narrator used an accent but the other didn't. also do not care for the 3rd person narration.

Fast paced and a fun caper

I first read the story via an ebook and then relived the story through the audiobook. First, the story: I love it when a strong, smart female is one of the main characters and Remi totally exemplifies that description. Remi, in her desperation to save her foster mother signs up to do something nefarious that brings the last of the billionaire bachelors, Mav, into fire. She agrees to hack into his system in order to find out about a secret project he's working on. She's smart, she's sassy and overall, she bring color and light to Mav's world. Mav is against relationships because of his past but he can't resist Remi. Think fun banter, quite a bit of action and overall, just another fun look into the life and love of the billionaire bachelors. (And isn't it fun to see characters geek out about what they love the most??) What I love the most about the books by Anna Hackett is that the pair truly becomes an awesome team. There's no forced fight between each other but rather, just a natural progression in the conflict that brings the pair even closer together (mixed in with some dangerous situations, naturally!)

Gregory Salinas' smooth voice was really well matched for Mav. I really liked his performance although he did a Brooklyn accent for Remi and as a New Yorker, I wasn't convinced! But overall, I enjoyed his narration. Rose Dioro's overall narration was great as well and in general, I really felt drawn into the story because of these great story tellers.

I think a teen wrote this

The writing feels like a teen. The characters have Obvious behaviors of a teen, not an adult. Shoot, there are moments where you say how do we go from running away from him to kissing him almost on the same page. Then to scared from a threatening phone call to Dave and Busters where they played games for a while before they talked about the threats. Seriously!!

The narrators are okay except some of the accents feel more American with a slight British accent than Brooklyn.

If these two are so good at hacking, why didn’t they. They put all there “eggs in one basket”. Then let others do the hacking for them.

the bad guy, who apparently needed a professional hacker to get in Mavericks system, suddenly knows how to hack mid way through the book.

These two barely have met and then they are willing to trust each other, even though one of them nearly committed treason. And don’t get me started on that one. Why wouldn’t the military have this data and keep it or NSA, instead of an independent contractor.

The relationship felt so one sided in that it seemed all about her.

Another winner!

Ms. Hackett knocked it out of the park with this one. The story starts with Remi being a law-abiding hacker who learns that her foster mom needs an expensive operation to beat an illness. So she throws her hacker name out onto the dark web, and gets hired shortly thereafter to steal a top-secret military file from Maverick Rivera. He realizes what she is doing very quickly, and calls her on it, and they begin an intriguing ‘challenge’ over the computer—Mav wants to catch his hacker, and Remi wants to complete the job, to earn the money that can save her foster mom.

The conflicts within each protagonist are obvious. Remi has a noble goal, even if she hates doing what she has been asked to do. Mav wants to stop her from succeeding, even while he is challenged by her sass and snark. Remi is drawn to Mav, although she knows he’s way out of her league, while Mav is attracted to her, as he rarely finds people willing to stand up to him. Ms. Hackett weaves a compelling story (complete with strong protagonists) that sucks the reader in, and doesn’t let go! The tension builds throughout this story, and then peaks at the end with a wonderful finale. This is an adrenaline rush that readers will love!!

The story itself gets 5 stars, but the narration gets 4.5 stars only because of some voice inconsistencies with the female character Remi. She sounds different at different parts of the recording. Other than that, it’s a great story!

I love this Series!!

This is the third book in the suspenseful and amazing Billionaire Heists Series. This is Maverick (Mav) and Remi's story. They are both strong and smart characters. The supporting characters are great, and I loved to see again the characters from the first two books. The storyline is brilliantly written, suspenseful, action packed, and captivating. I liked the action, the romance, and the beautiful ending. Rose Dioro and Gregory Salinas did a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed it, and I HIGHLY recommend this Series.
