Publisher's Summary
Nathan Byrn is running again. The Alliance of Free Witches has been all but destroyed. Scattered and demoralised, constantly pursued by the Council's Hunters, only a bold new strategy can save the rebels from total defeat. They need the missing half of Gabriel's amulet - an ancient artifact with the power to render its bearer invincible in battle.
But the amulet's guardian - the reclusive and awesomely powerful witch Ledger - has her own agenda. To win her trust, Nathan must travel to America and persuade her to give him the amulet. Combined with his own Gifts, the amulet might just be enough to turn the tide for the Alliance and end the bloody civil war between Black and White witches once and for all....

exceptional
I absolutely loved this book. it broke my heart, made me cry and laugh and I'm sitting here a little breathless at the ending.
the performance of Carl Prekopp was on point and his accent made me see Nathan more clearly than when I read the first two book myself
this is a spoiler so don't read on if you don't want to be spoiled.
I said if one of them died I'd flip a truck and well.... I guess it's time to find a truck. it broke my heart. I loved the fact that it wasn't an instant romance that it took time, that they made mistakes and fucked up, but that they loved each other anyway. Gabrielle and Nathan will remain my otp forever, even if they are both quite... yeah....
This book, like the two first one took my breathe away and I highly encourage everyone to read them.

Half Lost (Half Bad #3) by Sally Green
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
OMG, the end to a really great series - I just loved Carl Prekopp's narration of Nathan as he tries to become the with Gabriel loves. Now that he has his gifts, Nathan works to perfect them, hunts Annaliese and helps the Alliance of Witches against the hunters. I wish I could say I loved the ending...I enjoyed all of Prekopp's characters in his narration, author Green's worlds were wild, heart stopping, and powerful. I have to thank The 2015 Hub Challenge for giving me the impetus to listen to this series, it was awesome
What did you like best about this story?
Nathan and Gabriel's love story
Which character – as performed by Carl Prekopp – was your favorite?
Nathan- awesome, tortured soul
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was wounded not lost
I really enjoyed this YA witches at war trilogy. It's pretty downbeat and it is soon apparent that any kind of moral absolute, bright and shiny happy ending will not fit with what has gone before. I find Nathan almost unbearably sad as he finds out who he is and of what he is capable mainly through pain and violence although there are some redeeming episodes of love - his relationship with Gabriel, and with Arran. It's pretty violent throughout but the violence generally reveals character and moves the story along. I reallly like the inclusion of characters like Celia who began as Nathan's captor in Half Bad but who evolves throughout the trilogy.
Carl Prekopp is great as ever. He's good at believable teenagers which, going by some other narrators, is harder than you'd think.
Give it a go.

A real rollercoaster finale to the trilogy

Surprised how much I enjoyed this...
... I am about 20 years outside of the target audience but I gave the first one a go and found it to be a really easy trilogy to listen to. The narrator is absolutely top dollar and I’ve now found others of his to listen to after such a good performance here. The story is full of the normal teenage angst and the odd bizarre decision but it’s fast paced and easy to listen to. The ending keeps replaying in my mind. Would definitely recommend.

Left me thinking about the characters days late
I am afraid to write too much in case I give anything away. I truly loved this book. You go on a journey with the characters and you become very protective of them.
It maybe a fantasy, but there is a touch of realism to it. Minutes, hours, days after finishing this book I was still thinking of the characters and what they had gone through.
This quote sums it up
“You've been away a long time. Were you lost?
I was wounded, not lost.”
A great listen - all 3

Half relieved
Trials and tribulations continue for our troubled protagonist, some good things too and a rapidly encountered finale which came as a surprise to me, but was right. He isn't a nice, loveable hero but somehow our sympathies do lie with him. I would have been happy for the series to continue, but it clearly won't and that's OK too. This is the last of the three books in the series and I'm half relieved it's over, half sad. I bought the first book when Audible offered it as a Daily Discount. It grabbed me by the ears despite the somewhat disturbing first chapters. I simply HAD to read the following two books after finishing it. This is the pleasure of finding a new author by accident, and I'm pleased to have found Sally Green. Carl Prekopp is a fine narrator and can voice many different accents convincingly (a lovely genuine Aussie one is of note). A well deserved 4 star listen for those who enjoy realities a little different to this one.
