Publisher's Summary

The war rages on in the next installment of the first-ever official YA series based on the megahit Halo video games!

It's been three months since the colony world of Meridian was invaded by the alien alliance known as the Covenant. Under the close watch of the military, Evie, Dorian, Saskia, and Victor have been put into an accelerated training program with ONI, the Office of Naval Intelligence. And to the teens' surprise, ONI has a mission for them: return to their hometown on Meridian and monitor the Covenant's efforts to retrieve an ancient Forerunner artifact of untold power. But what seems like a simple job quickly spirals out of their control.

With the artifact at risk of falling into Covenant hands, the stakes are raised, and ONI tasks the teens and their team of militia fighters with extracting the artifact for study. After a series of missteps with command costs the militia more than half their fighting forces, the teens take matters into their own hands. Their journey will take them far behind enemy lines, into the heart of the war zones on Meridian. Don't miss this official, original young adult novel, the sequel to Halo: Battle Born!

why whisper?

Why is 3/4 of the book barely above a whisper, except for the dialogue which is practically a shout in comparison?!
It made the book highly frustrating to listen to and ruined what probably was a good story.
I wish I hadn't bought this

If you can get past the annoyance of the whispering reader...

The ASMR narrator was annoying but the story was good. This story series is a great addition to the Halo universe without Master Chief.

Good book quiet reader

I like the book and story but really wish the person reading it would speak louder. it's kinda annoying when you turn the volume up to hear when she is speaking normally then suddenly when she yells get your ears hurt.

Whispers

This story is great. The narrator chose to whisper most if the narrator text which was extremley distracting. Otherwise, she was good. Not great, but good.

HaLo Battle Born: Meridian Divide

Excellent book; as a sequel it continued an adventure of four high school students thrust into harms way and catipuled into the struggle to save humanity. Action packed but written for young adults it’s perfect to capture the imagination and spark interest in science, aviation, astrophysics, and more. I hope Cassandra Rose Clark publishes another book the series soon!

Bad Performance

The narrator was basically whispering throughout the entire story. Sometimes it was very difficult to understand what she was saying.

STOP WHISPERING!!!!

Well written story overshadowed by constant whispering. This doesn't make situations more intense, just annoying.

Voice over

The voice over is way to soft and quiet. When she speaks the character parts, she's very loud.

To dull and slow for my taste

Sure, everyone is not a super soldier. But teenagers with parental troubles in the Halo world is not for me.
The narrator reads with a low and whispering voice, as if the book was som well kept secret. As if the characters was on some super secret mission. But the are in the middle of a battle, beeing bombarded with Covenant plasma fire. I don't get that feeling.
I must say I didn't finish the book, I went on to more exciting titles.

Narrator

The narrator whispers so much it’s very irritating and it’s a shame I think she could do so much better. When voicing the Spartan he can’t sound like a bratty teenager also. Overall good but could be much better.

Exciting

Natrator was brilliant. Story was more militaristic than the first which I love. Worth listening if you enjoyed the first book as it is written similarly.

It started a little slow. But picked up with action and suspense. I can't wait to see if they are going to carry on the story. I want it too for sure lol.

Good story

A good book overall and a really good story! The narrator lets it down by whispering during times in the book where it isn’t needed for the story. Other than that a good listen
