CHASE! CHASE! CHASE!!!

Overall, this is such a beautiful story with a perfect blend of sexy and sweet...from sex on all kinds of surfaces to nothing but an apron, apple pie makin’” to dancing in the rain! And GUNNER...one of the most amazing and lovable book boyfriends ever! You literally couldn’t help but fall in love with him. My only complaint is the deception...CHASE!!! Man, did I want to strangle her. She had so many opportunities to come clean on her lie and simply refused to deal with it. I understand she made a mistake but she could have righted her wrong so many times. How can someone so smart be so stupid?!! This is my biggest pet peeve in romance novels...a plot based on continual lies. Sigh. However, there was so much good here. There were elements of growth, redemption, and the power of love as well as some of the best narration around! My overall rating is 4 stars with a 5 star narration and 3.75-4 star story. Worth a listen!

Amazing Narrators

I loved this story and the narrators brought it to life !
I love Gunner and Chase!!! They are my favorite couple!!

I loved everything about this book and the story had me consumed from the first page.
These characters I love so much! This world is one of my favorites to read!

Gunner will have you swooning so hard and Chase is an independent woman, put those together and you have one terrific couple!! Such well written characters that you will love!! Chase has become one of my favirite female leads..

I can't wait to see what happens in the next book set in this world!!

My least favorite of the series...

Well, I put this one off... I'd like to thank Prime Day for providing me with this book at 50% off, making it the push to finally finish this series.

First of all, Chase. She was selfish, and competitive to the point where she didn't even treat people like human beings. She's been like this throughout the series so I was the least interested in her story. She wasn't there for others, not even her sisters when they needed her. She'd bail the moment anyone tried to lean on her because that'd make her too vulnerable. Personally, it made her heartless and hard to like. She then opens herself up to Gunner and is selfish once again by doing what was in her best interest by continuing her charade of lies. it was about maintaining HER happiness and coddling HER discomfort so she didn't come clean to Gunner. It made for a good build up of drama, but what grated on me was Chase's internal monologues about how she couldn't come clean and how much SHE would hurt of she did. By the time she realized that she would be hurt Gunner with her choices, the magic "I Love You" bomb had dropped. Ugh! This last one was the struggle I anticipated. Lennox and Rush still have my heart as my favorite, but I'm also OCD in needing an entire series in my library.

Savannah... homegirl! Please work on your male voice characters! Pretty please! Jason does a better woman's voice than you do a guys and it SHOWS! I HATE to he overly critical of ones talents, but according to other reviewers, I'm not the one who noticed. She kept drawing the last word of her sentences much like Erin Mallon does. Overall, I also think Savannah's voice sounds way too sweet, kind, and sugary for Chase and she was a poor choice. I'd have chosen someone like Maxine Mitchell, but I digress!

Jason's voice is that gritty, gravely voice that comes deep within his chest. I love it and it was probably the one reason I finished the audio.

Raw, emotional story

Hard to Lose is a raw emotional story that held me hostage from the first page until the last!
Gunnar has been living through his guilt and the nightmares left from his time in the military but he has also done so much for so many others since his time in the service. He is a good guy with a big heart who has learned to move on from the loss of his life’s dreams. But sometimes those lost dreams lead to other dreams and Chase is a dream and future he never saw coming.
In searching for the author of a long lost letter, Chase finds an amazing, broken man with a giving heart who puts honesty in high regard so when Chase’s innocent white lie gets out of hand and he finds out, forgiveness will be hard to find.
Gunnar and Chase may have started out their relationship with them not really knowing the truth about each other but their chemistry and the pull towards one another is undeniable. Can they overcome the obstacles thrown in their way, find forgiveness and move on to the happily ever after that they both deserve? Read, enjoy and find out for yourself!
I also had the added benefit of listening to the audio version of this story and the narrators did an amazing job and it definitely added to my enjoyment of this story!

An awesome end to a great series. Chase and Gunner’s story touched me more than the other three books. Beautifully performed by Jason and Savannah.

Hard to Lose is not hard to love!

Having read and enjoyed every book written by K Bromberg, it would be difficult to single out a favorite until now. My reader’s heart has “belonged” to the Driven series, but after the closing credits of the Audible version and the last page in Kindle, my first thoughts were “ I need to read that again” and “I love Chase and Gunner”. Kristie Bromberg has long been my favorite author and Hard to Lose confirms that status.

Meant to be

I've been looking forward to Chase's story. She's the youngest Kincaid sister so I knew that her story would be special. Gunner is just the person to heal her and she helps to heal him. I'm not sure if she would have come clean with Gunner if things would have been better but they did work out. This story brought some tears when I was listening. Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood were terrific narrators.

Healing

This is a story about broken people who learn to heal through helping others to heal. The hero knows he's damaged, and has sought a small town to become his refuge. Here he attracts others with his gentle, warm and loving personality, particularly those with damage issues similar to his own. Our heroine mysteriously stumbles into this refuge, through a weird subterfuge that can only be explained as fate or angelic intervention. She doesn't know she's damaged, and only realizes it through her interactions with the people she meets who surround our hero, and through being with our hero, to whom she is instantly attracted. His attraction to her is an indication that his healing process is almost complete, and he is ready to leave his refuge and take on the world. Their love story shows them being together as the final step in their individual healing process, facing the world together, and bringing healing forward to help others.

Couldn’t stop listening

I absolutely love this author. This book has to be one of my favorites!! Such a beautiful second chance story. A must read (or listen) Jason Clark and savannah peachwood are perfection together!! I didn’t want it to end.

What a way to love and forgive !!

I loved Savanah Peachwood and Jason Clarke's performance, even though the tears.
K. Brambaurgh hits it out of the park again!!
Chase and Gunner's story is filled with unexpected love and forgivable hatred that pulled two characters back together filled with tears.
I loved how Chase tried, and failed to open her truths to Gunner, however ot until the truth slapped her in the face.
Not until she realizes that the man she's been searching for is Gunner himself.
The story has highs and lows that break your heart for both people. Yet learning what a letter and the knowing that the amazing man she falls in love with, could break him irrevocably, does Chase realize the hurt she causes.
Filled with kids from families who have lost a parent to the horrors of war, Gunner shows them what he never had at the loss of his own father.
I can't recommend this story enough.
A Definite MUST READ !!!
