Publisher's Summary

Building on the success of the Kingpins series, Carl Weber's Five Families series features some of Urban Books' most popular authors writing about crime in the boroughs of New York City, this time in Harlem.

Through the darkest tunnel comes the light, but for Caesar King, there is nothing but more darkness on the other side. After the failed attempt on his life, he is afraid that the Pact of the Five Families is no more. He can trust nobody. Whoever murdered Barry is now aiming for Caesar's crown, and the only way to flush them out and figure out who's responsible is to go to war...with everybody.

Voices aggect the story

Mr. Bernard is unable to capture each voice. It takes away from the character and story.

Drama from Every Corner

I hate the narration! The guy sounded like Vera from In Living Color when he did womens voices. Just ridiculous! Other than that the story was good. I figured out Morgan’s situation when she was introduced. There were little subtle hints throughout. Glad Shemar and Dina got what they deserved. Not sure if Lee is really dead because it was assumed he was caught in the explosion but the Chinese knew the secret location that only the 6 family heads knew of so it’ll be interesting to find out how that pans out in the next installment.
