According to Alan Christianson, NMD, our bodies are under attack from all directions - an overabundance of processed food, a polluted world, and the pressures of daily life all take their toll. These attacks hit a little known but very important set of glands, the adrenals, particularly hard. One of the many jobs of the adrenals is to maintain a normal cortisol rhythm.

Publisher's Summary
Dr. Izabella Wentz, the author of the phenomenal New York Times best seller Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, returns with a long-awaited, groundbreaking prescription to reverse the symptoms of this serious autoimmune condition that is becoming one of the country's fastest growing diseases.
More than 35 million Americans currently suffer from Hashimoto's - an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid gland and causes the body to attack its own cells. To alleviate the symptoms of this debilitating condition - including chronic cough, acid reflux, IBS, allergies, chronic pain, hair loss, brain fog, and forgetfulness - patients are often prescribed synthetic hormones that have numerous life-altering side effects.
But there is a better way.
Diagnosed with Hashimoto's at 27, pharmacist Dr. Izabella Wentz knows firsthand the effects of the disease as well as the value - and limitations - of medication. The key to improved health, she argues, involves lifestyle interventions. In Hashimoto's Protocol, she outlines a proven treatment that has helped thousands heal and many others feel better - in as fast as 90 days.
Drawing on her own personal experience as well as her work consulting with thousands of patients, Hashimoto's Protocol offers a practical pathway for healing and reversing the autoimmune damage at the root of the disease. The first step is a quick-start two-week detox that includes foods to eat and inflammatory foods to avoid, advice on supplements to support the liver, and an adrenal recovery plan. Next, listeners create a personalized plan with foods, supplements, and other lifestyle interventions tailored to their bodies' own unique Hashimoto's triggers, which they can identify using self-tests included in the book. Hashimoto's Protocol also features original recipes.
Grounded in the latest science, Hashimoto's Protocol is the first book to offer a proven protocol by an acknowledged expert in the field to treat this condition without dangerous hormones - and help sufferers reclaim their lives.

Great book, but narrated by Siri
I have not finished this book yet and am only an hour into it, so I gave five stars for the content because Izabella Wentz is usually exceptional and I can assume that this covers very helpful material. However, I am having a very difficult time listening to it. The narrator is the voice of Siri. It literally feels like I am having to listen to a computer generated book, even though it is an actual person. I just wished I would have realized this before purchasing so I wanted to make sure others were aware of this in case it might bother them too. I was annoyed while listening to Siri read a book and my husband walked in the room. I didn't say anything and he went nuts and made me turn it off. He told me he couldn't handle listening to it.

at 3.5 hrs. - still waiting to hear protocol
Keeps talking around in circles and tells her story over and over.
She gets to 4. and says "now for the liver protocol" then keeps talking
about other aspects. She has a 3 hr. build up
to explain that the protocol is liver, adrenal, and gut yet at 3.5, I havn't heard
a succinct layout. She should give exact protocols fairly early in a clear layout and then
explain the details and break it down. This would help people that already have some
knowledge. Wouldn't recommend due to the convoluted layout.
I imagine the book is managable. Most of the info. I knew and was looking
for advanced program. Very basic. Waste of money for me. Reader's voice OK.

Game Changer
What did you love best about Hashimoto's Protocol?
This game changer helps you understand that the ball is in your court! I learned that I have control of my body and though it may take time I have a say in my health starting with the small seemingly insignificant choices I make daily.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hashimoto's Protocol?
The most memorable part for me was when dr Isabella gave me permission take time for me. I guess I have been unknowingly in a cycle of stress, and having her say it's not only ok to rest it's vital for your family's well being (my paraphrase) it really shifted my mindset about self care and taking care of me.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Eeeeee, well, I did cry but not so much at the book but after realizing this has been going on for most of my life and I am just now awake to it. That sorrow lasted a moment then I felt strength rise up and I began to follow tha protocol.
Any additional comments?
I have been doing this protocol for three weeks and I am already starting to Benefit from so many parts! I feel so much more clear and clean! My Symptoms are subsiding a little which allows me to be able to test for food intolerances as I build my diet. Having my head above water is a really big deal to me and I'm excited for where this is going to take me. It's not just a book, it's a journey and you can absolutely change your life you just need to take the first step!

A very expensive protocol to follow
I found the book really interesting, and don't doubt the effects of the protocol. I was keen but...it's just to expensive to follow. Not just the supplements but the food. Just the green smoothie alone is a lot of vegetables to buy every day. such a shame as it then made the book pointless to me as I couldn't afford to follow it

Very helpful insight
Very helpful book though I'm also grateful that my hashimotos is not as full blown as what the author has gone through. If you have to do the full diet it is definitely full on but you can eliminate ingredients one at a time to see the results. I've considered doing her programme as well though this book is a great start.

Very informative
Would you listen to Hashimoto's Protocol again? Why?
This book is very informative but also very medical. I found the supplements section hard to listen to due to the extensive use of large medical terms. The pdf is very valuable in this regard. I found all the supplements on the iherb webite which seems the most cost effective option.
What does Erin Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
A very enthusiastic approach to a very difficult auto immune disease
Any additional comments?
Whilst the advise and recommendations are very sound, I don't think a lot of people will follow it as its so removed from the current western diet. This requires a very strict paleo diet - no gluten/grains, no dairy and no soy. For some, they just wont know where to turn when faced with these restrictions.

Extremely overwhelming
This book left me feeling extremely overwhelmed by the amount of medical terms and amount of supplements required to reverse hashimotos. This author was terrible in relating her medical overload to the average human. She needs to follow the KISS formula that states to keep things simple!! Shit book very disappointing even though she had a good underlying message. Way to many technical terms that didn’t need to be mentioned. Draining to listen to as she needed to get to the point faster.

Life saving book, pity about the narrator
Having suffered from hashimotos for 20 years this book is a god send with loads of helpful information.
The narrator however is very hard to listen to - it is very computerised and monotone :(

A wealth of information
This was a great book that helped me cut out all the confusion surrounding other auto-immune conditions and focus on my Hashimoto's alone. After listening however i wish i had a paperback copy as i would like to review, mark pages and highlight important points for me to apply.
