Soren

You know what's not fun? Going on a Fiji vacation with four other couples. Especially when recently single. What's even worse is when a past hook-up arrives unannounced. Not only do we have a history, but he's 10 years younger and a famous rock star. Most importantly, he's my friend's little brother. Being trapped on an island with Jet Jackson is going to be sweet torture because all I want is another chance. I just don't think he's going to give it to me.

Jet

You know what's not fun? Escaping one guy who broke my heart only to run into another. Being on the road for three years has left me exhausted. The last thing I want is for Caleb "Soren" Sorensen to try for round two. I can't fight my draw to him. I've never been able to. I'm suddenly back to being the naïve kid who stupidly lusted after a hockey player. All I can think is if I let Soren get close, I'll walk away from this vacation with a double broken heart.

Contains mature themes.

Mostly a series epilogue

It was fun to hang out with the cast and crew of the series. This was Jet & Soren’s book but read like a series epilogue. I was mostly fine with that but would have enjoyed slightly higher stakes, maybe. All their conflict was pretty much either scheduling or past drama they’d already got over, rehashed briefly for the reader. I was glad for a book where the guys could be out from the start. Definitely a low angst book. Everyone ends up wealthy and happy.

Fated love can be fun and this was, but I keep thinking the plot could have been a bit meatier. This paragraph is full of the quibbles that kept me from rating it a full five stars. I didn’t buy into Jet’s early irritation with Soren. Maybe because it was in flashback, it felt resolved already. While I liked that Jet wasn’t tempted by his ex, and also was able to analyze the draw or the past relationship, I didn’t like how peripheral his band mates were to the story. I don’t get how Jet was able to duck so many social obligations on tour. Soren has the highest scoring hockey games ever. Not sure if the “happy with 3 goals instead of a hat trick” (after describing two goals) was a typo or a narration goof. I was not a particular fan of the song lyrics, but I tend to prefer lyrics when sung so that may be just me. It was a tad boring because all their problems could be solved with money or time, so I wish there was just a bit more detail about their or their friend’s lives than the brief glimpses we got. (the final birthday party fell a little flat. maybe more there would have left me feeling more excited? Mere speculation. I liked it fine, but I wanted to love it.
/end quibbles

Steam: Medium. Flirty M/M sexytimes on page. Not a particular focus. Fun enough but again, low stakes.

Narration: Fine. A couple of times the character’s voicings were wrongly paired.

Jet gets his HEA

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

I enjoyed Jet and Soren's story, It was low drama, had an easy flow and all the gang were there.

Narration comment: Both narrators are terrific on their own and do a great job on their respective characters chapters, but in my opinion dual narration is unnecessary for a M/M book. Either narrator would have been an excellent choice for the entire book and having each chapter as an alternate POV there were twice as many characters voices as there needed to be.

Must Flove Jet and Soren!

It’s another job done well by Alexander and Iggy. Eden Finley hit it out of the park, again, as well. I loved reading the print version, but I knew I had to listen to it it, too.

Loved!

I loved Jett and Soren! These two opposites blended so well together to have a love story that may not have started as normal, but these two men turned it into their normal. This whole series has been fantastic along with the narration.

Favorite of the series!

Loved Jet and Soren's story! I've wanted Jet to get his own book since meeting him in Matt's and this was everything I could have wanted for him! And for Soren, too.
This was such an endearing story, I'm so happy these two found each other again and were able to work through the challenges they faced. I loved how good they were for each other.
I was worried that there'd be some big misunderstanding or miscommunication to derail things, but thankfully that wasn't the case.
I also enjoyed getting to see all the other guys from the previous stories, what a wonderful group of friends. It almost felt like an extended epilogue in some ways, but Jet and Soren's story was still the main focus.
This book left me happy smiling.

Hat Trick was my favorite book of the series, and it was also my favorite narration. Of course I've loved Iggy and Alexander throughout, but I think with Jet and Soren's characters their performances were spot on! Another job well done.

Surprisingly Good

Loved this book. . . .the beginning is a little slow and being that its the 5th book in the series, my expectations were a little low. But. . . it picks up in the most beautiful ways and the voices really make the story come alive

Loved this story

This is another interesting addition to this series of books. I loved the humour that runs through the story and that the narration accentuates it.

oh my goodness

I love this book but it wasn't my favourite until I heard the audio. The voice actors did a great job and I feel hard for Jet and Soren again.

The cuteness continues

Hat Trick is book four in the Fake Boyfriends series. While part of the series this is not the fake boyfriend trope. It fits into the age gap and second chance romance tropes.

Jet is the cute musician and Matt’s little brother and very much treated as the little brother of all the group.
Soren is the out hockey player with ex baggage.

Soren and Jet had one night before Jet become the famous Jay of Radioactive and Soren got back together with his ex Bryce.

Soren and Jet are one of my fave Eden couples. They’re adorable. Jet with his sassy snark gives Soren the challenge he needs in life. Soren gives stability and comfort with just his presence.

OMG “Flove” indeed!!

It took me a long time to finish this book because I didn’t want this series to end. I was so in love with all these characters and was sad that this was the last couple, with Jet who was one of my favs early on.

While I’m sad the series is finished I loved this book so much. I love Jet and his hopelessly Disney romantic heart. This book has everything, with epic connections, long coming second chances, awesome wit and humor, steamy hot chemistry and great characters you can’t help but love. I love Eden’s wit and humor and she did Jet proud!

Highly recommended series! LOVED it!!!
