Publisher's Summary

Perron Manor - a place evil calls home.

Sisters Sarah and Chloe inherit a house they could never have previously dreamed of owning. It seems too good to be true. Shortly after they move in, however, the siblings start to notice strange things: horrible smells, sudden drops in temperature as well as unexplainable sounds and feelings of being watched. All of that is compounded when they find a study upstairs, filled with occult items and a strange book written in Latin.

Their experiences grow more frequent and more terrifying, building toward a heart-stopping climax when the sisters come face to face with the evil behind Perron Manor. Will they survive and save their very souls?

I couldn't listen for more than an hour

I was so excited when I saw that Lee Mountford had a Trilogy of books out. I read most of his books, and loved every one of them. However, I could only get through the first hour of this book. The narrator's tone, long drawn-out words, the atrocious female voices he tried to pull off, made it impossible for me to listen to the book any longer. The story seemed to move at a snails pace, I think because the narrator was so hard to listen to. I wanted to hear this book and the 2 others. I'm going to purchase this one in book form if possible and see who the narrator is for the other 2.

Narration made my skin crawl

Book was not bad, but the narration made me want to return it. maybe in kindle version it would be better.

Not his best work

Gonna be honest, if I wasn’t such a fan of Lee’s previous work I probably would have given this one up. I’m about halfway through and the knowledge from the prequel book plus the magnetic tones of Mr Hill keep me going.

However.. the characters are annoying as hell. I don’t like any of them. The husband is a grouchy flip flop, the army sister is borderline bitchy most of the time, and the wife/mommy is just a control freak. I just don’t like them and I’m really disappointed with how he wrote them as all his previous books had at least one character I could connect with, but this time around everyone is just a group of rude horror cliches.

F bombs first Chapter No thanks.

I bought this book without having a credit and now I hope Audible will refund my money. I'm in the minority when it comes to that word but to me it's not just a word!

Good scary story

I enjoyed this book and felt it was the right length. It was creepy, which is exactly what I wanted. The narrator needs to work on his female impersonations - they were dreadful.

Unsatisfying and gory

Did not like the ending at all. Very unsatisfying. Also do not care for the graphic descriptions of gore. Lesson learned.

Horrible narrator

This guy draws out literally every single word in a sort of sing song voice that drives me insane. It's like he's narrating a children's book instead of horror. I'm really, really struggling with this one because he's one of the worst narrators I've listened to

Kinda Fun

Went in to this knowing what it was and then it delivered just that. Haunted house genre with baby monitors and an old Victorian house.

Narration ruined it

Sadly I couldn’t get more than 15 minutes into the book. The narration was just so bad for this type of story. I feel like I wasted money on this..

Awful Narrator

Truly awful narrator, I could only get through ten minutes and had to return the book. I do not know what they were thinking with this narrator.

Ruined by the narrator, sadly you know.

I really wanted to enjoy this audiobook but it's ruined by the narrator. For some reason he makes every character seem to have this camp, pantomime characteristic to their voices. Even his chapter numbers are ludicrous sounding.

Despite best efforts to move past it in my mind it got to the point where the drama of the scene was shattered with the narrator's performance and I started to have the giggles.

If you like ghost stories then this is a good book to enjoy, but you might like to try the book version or Kindle eBook instead as that is what I'll be doing with the next book in the series as it seems all the Lee Mountford Haunted novels are read by Hannibal Hills, mores the pity.

I couldn’t finish it.

This will be the first time I’ve had to drop out of the book. I just couldn’t bare to listen to the narrator any longer. He should just stick to his normal voice throughout. His attempts to voice the different characters fails completely. It grates on my ears. Sorry dude. So very disappointed. If the author has a different format or voiceover to replace this with. I don’t see why not.

Scary,......... Very Scary.

I absolutely loved it. Scared me to the point, I was reluctant to turn the light off, when going to bed, but couldn't stop listening to it.
Mr Mountford, has the power to make you believe this could really have happened, and does so, in all the purported haunted properties all over the UK.
The orator, Mr Hills, really brings the characters to life, especially the voices of the evil dead.
I am in a hurry to listen to the next book in this series. I really hope it is as good as the first.
