Story
In Cured, Dr. Rediger digs down to the root causes of illness, showing how to create an environment that sets the stage for healing. He reveals the patterns behind healing and lays out the physical and mental principles associated with recovery: first, we need to physically heal our diet and our immune systems. Next, we need to mentally heal our stress response and our identities. Through rigorous research, Dr. Rediger shows that much of our physical reality is created in our minds. Our perception changes our experience, even to the point of changing our physical bodies.

Ever since medical school, Dr. Christiane Northrup has been guided by an essential truth about the way our bodies, minds, and souls are intertwined. It's the same truth Edgar Cayce expressed in this famous formula: The spirit is life. The mind is the builder. The physical is the result. When we don't grasp this - when we view our bodily well-being in isolation - life can devolve into constant worry about our health and constant battling to make our bodies "behave".

Have you ever known people who became too involved in other people’s problems, who could not set limits, and who could not distinguish between their own feelings and the feelings of someone else? Could it be their high level of empathy, paired with an inability to guard against the dangers of that trait? In chapters on codependency and narcissistic abuse, Empath explores what can happen when empathy exists without boundaries, explains how to recognize when you’re in a toxic relationship, and provides suggestions for improving or exiting the relationship.

PHENOMENAL
Amazing Book I could not stop listening to it. EVERYTHING the doctor shared all the research and all the different cases studied.
I could not stop listening to it,
If I could I would have taken time from work to continue listening to finish in one day. Intuitively I've always felt this way about the medical industry I am so GRATEFUL that it is confirmed in this book coming from professional.
I HOPE THIS BOOK WILL HAVE TSUNAMI EFFECT ON THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY.
THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY HAS BECOME A MONEY-MAKING BUSINESS RATHER THAN HEALING PEOPLE.
Doctor Vongtam thank you for becoming a pioneer in the ripple effect of a new way the medical industry will change in the future.
May you remain strong and steadfast in this change.

I love this book
Although I don’t know Dr. Vongtama personally, I feel deeply impacted by his book already. He is matter of fact, easy to listen to (favorite voice I’ve heard on Audible so far), encouraging, practical, and broad minded. I’m so grateful for the relatability and resonating perspectives he sets forth. I realized a lot already on first listen especially because I paused to journal along the way. He’s compelling- I believe him. I’m certain I’ll be revisiting the material frequently to develop better clarity as I try more of the games, writing, body check, and mindfulness/ meditation exercises.
Healing Before You’re Cured brings light to research and anecdotes with a panoramic take on it all. You have to hear it!
Well done, Dr. Roy! I wish him the best and continued success.

Finally, modern research on the mind, body, emotion, spirit connection
The author does a phenomenal job narrating. I love how the Dr. shares experiences and stories from his life and with patients. The research he presents, like ACES, is what I’ve always what I sought. He gives simple steps that are actionable which I believe would yield results. This is for anyone interested in integrative health, and highly recommended for those who have been impacted by cancer individually or a family member.

One of those books I wished I had read sooner!
I read all the time and rarely write reviews. I read this book twice and I learned more the second time. I have recommended this book to my friends and family and to my patients. I think everyone can benefit from Dr. Roy's wisdom. I agree with his evaluation of the evidence of how should we live our lives and break down life into 4 houses. I loved the short chapter format of his book with personal stories - it made it real. I remember those stories for months after I read the book and apply it to my daily life.
If you want a balanced book to look at your life in this chaotic, zombie-like world while burnout, anxious and overwhelmed, I think this book helps you identify the sources and offers you solutions. It helped me.
I just wished Dr. Roy had written this book sooner, so more people could have benefitted sooner.
