Publisher's Summary

A playboy prince in want of a decoy bride.

A servant girl desperate for a disguise....

Raven shifter Prince Franco is every social-climbing debutante’s dream. He’s handsome, heir to the Lunar Court throne, and deliciously single. Every young woman wants to bed him, wed him, or steal a moment of his time. Except, of course, for Ember Montgomery.

Half-fae Ember craves freedom from her conniving step-family. As if they weren’t enough to deal with, a chance encounter with the arrogant Prince Franco leaves her humiliated and in a fiery rage. Nothing could convince her the prince is anything but a rake. But when the opportunity to evade her scheming stepmother falls into her lap, she’ll pay the price - even if it means impersonating the prince’s newest flame....

To prove himself a worthy heir, Prince Franco must marry a princess. But after far too many unsatisfying trysts, he’s given up on love. With the social season in full swing, and bringing with it a horde of husband-hungry socialites, he’ll do anything to delay the pressures of both marriage and the crown. And what better solution than an alliance with a desperate servant girl glamoured as his false future bride?

Locked in a bargain, Ember must pose as a princess until midnight at the full moon ball. Until then, all she has to do is wear the glamour, pretend to court the prince, and above all else, not fall in love. But when feelings emerge on both sides, she starts to wonder if there’s more to their contrived courtship than either of them planned....

Can Ember and Franco find love when the masks come off? Or will illusions and lies prove stronger than their hearts?

A Court of Thorns and Roses meets Bridgerton in this stand-alone fairy-tale retelling of Cinderella. If you like slow-burn romance, fake engagements, and snarky fae royals, then you’ll love this swoon-worthy story in the Entangled with Fae series.

Note: This book is upper young adult/new adult, featuring mature situations and some adult language. The romance is slow-burn but leads to moderate steam.

Heart of the Raven Prince is a complete stand-alone novel set in the same world as the Fair Isle Trilogy. Journey back to Faerwyvae or begin your adventure for the first time with this enchanting tale. Each book in the Entangled with Fae series can be listened to on its own and in any order. Happily ever after guaranteed!

Not entirely stand alone/reading order

I enjoy this author and am listening to this while waiting for the third book in her Fair Isle Trilogy to be released three days from the time of writing this review. And so far I think it will be as good as the Fair Isle Trilogy, however, for those that have not read her other books, this book should come with major spoiler alerts! It needs to be read after others!

I’m on chapter 5 and can already tell this is not exactly a stand alone story that can be read in any order, even though the description claims so. It might be a stand alone plot, but it should be read after at least four other books. (The author has another trilogy I’ve not read yet and don’t yet know anything about.)

This takes place in the same world as the Fair Isle Trilogy, and AFTER those books. It also comes AFTER The Curse of the Wolf King (the same series as this book). This book has a main character (the prince) that was a secondary but significant character in the Fair Isle Trilogy (books 2&3). The characters are also discussing the main characters and plot details from The Curse of the Wolf King, which are spoilers for those that also want to read that book.

There are, apparently, significant societal changes at the end of the Fair Isle Trilogy, so this book (and maybe Wolf King, which I’ve not yet read) has major spoilers in it for those that have not yet read those other books - which I highly recommend.

I’ve read the description of Wolf King and it said I could read these in any order, and I was going to start with this one. However, I have just enough info from the description (character names and it’s based on Beauty and the Beast) that I recognize the references are to it and am now, at the very least, going to have to go back and read that one before this one. I’m only in chapter 5 of this book and know there is a shared antagonist in both books (one of the step-sisters) as there is discussion of what happened in Wolf King. Before I hear anymore spoilers I’m switching to listen to that one next.

However, I’m not sure I want to read Wolf King yet either, as I’m still waiting on the audiobook for the third book of the Fair Isle Trilogy to come out this week and there have already been spoilers for the last book in that series discussed in this book - societal changes I wouldn’t have suspected after only books one and two of Fair Isle - and I don’t know what spoilers might be in Wolf King.

So, I do recommend anything from this author, just be warned to read them in order…

I just jumped over to Good Reads to check and the author has a couple of series that aren’t yet audiobooks here on Audible. You may want to look into them and further reading order if you are considering reading them all and care about spoilers. At least one book looks like it is probably in the same world, and there another book from this series that is not currently on Audible.

Enjoy.

A Beautiful Cinderella Retelling!

I love this story so much! Just like I do all of Tessonja’s retellings! This story focuses on Ember Montgomery, a half-sylph Fae, and Franco, our full-Fae Raven Shifter Prince.

Disguises, New Moon Masquerades, and Full Moon Frolics ensue with a lovely enemies-to-lovers tale as our abused Cinderella finds her prince.

Excellently narrated by dueling POV’s, I loved every minute of this altered timeless tale!

HEART OF MY RAVEN PRINCE

TESSONJA DELIVERS ANOTHER WONDERFUL ADDITION TO THE SERIES! EMBER IS FORCED TO WORK FOR AND OBEY HER EVIL STEPMOTHER. BUT WHEN ENCHANTED INVITATIONS ARE SENT, WITH THE CONDITION THAT EMBER MUST ATTEND AS WELL. FATE TAKES HER ON A THRILLING ADVENTURES THAT SHE NEVER EXPECTED. FRANCO IS WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS AS THE PLAYBOY PRINCE, WITH ELABORATE TALES OF DALIANCES AND BROKEN HEARTS THAT ARE LEFT BEHIND. EMBER FINDS HERSELF TAKING THE PLACE OF A POWERFUL PERSON AT COURT, AND AN UNEXPECTED ROMANCE WITH PRINCE CHARMING, FRANCO'S SISTER WHO IS QUEEN HAS A FEMALE MATE, THOUGH THERE IS NO MENTION REALLT BEYOND THAT. THROW IN A PAIR OF GLASS SLIPPER THAT MUST REMAIN ON EMBER'S FEET, AND A WHIRLWIND ROMANCE OF ADVENTURE, THE NARRATORS ARE AMAZING!! THOUGH THERE IS ONE SCENE, IT IS EASILY DIMISSABLE.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SELKIE PRINCESSES STORY!!!!

Loved every second of it

GAH! I love this series so much. Cannot recommend it enough. The narration was flawless. I love that we got some of Franco's chapters, and I found myself looking forward to those the most. Both narrators did a fantastic job emulating the personalities of each character.

The beginning of this story was a bit agonizing, as most Cinderella retellings are. I wish Ember had had just one friend or one positive relationship so it wouldn't have been so depressing. It also took a bit longer to get to the main plot - the fake relationship - than I would've liked.

BUT, all that said, this was still so very, very good. Do you like the fake relationship trope? Seducing a prince? Roguish rakes with a heart of gold? A slow burn romance with a bit of steam? Then you will LOVE this book.

I found it really refreshing that Franco wasn't described as the typical fae male who is big, beefy, and muscular. He was still alluring with his silver hair and eyes, his tattoos, and his wings and raven form. Such a captivating hero, but it was a refreshing reminder that a love interest doesn't have to be chiseled and muscular for me to enjoy the romance.

I also really liked Ember's love of music and her special fae power. Franco's was fascinating, too - he's a psy vampire who feeds off of the emotions of others, and it really made them a beautiful pair. He could see her aura, her energy, and fell in love with THAT, not the disguise she was wearing. It made their love so much more meaningful and believable.

Swoonworthy Ever After Retelling 🥰

This was MUCH better than the first book. If you're looking for a swoony romantic slow burn Cinderella retelling this is it!

Tropes
✅ Fake dating (courting)
✅ Guy falls first
✅ Snarky FMC
✅ Rake-ish MMC
✅ Secret powers
✅ Dislike to lovers
✅ Secret identity

And more...

The prince is a emotion reading vampire. She is a half fae whose powers manifest through music and wind. He doesn't want a marriage and his crown weighs heavy and is requiring it. She is escaping a fae bargain forcing her to marry a horrible man and tying her to her terrible family forever. After a harrowing accidental meeting she takes the persona of a visiting princess and when he discovers her deception, he sees an opportunity to evade his responsibilites too.

This book is amazing. It has the sweetest romance that grows so naturally. The two MCs heal each other and move through so much together. It's cozy, funny and heartwarming.

Cute story, good performance

It’s a cute Cinderella story and even helps build into the The Mermaid Story. Wish it would have been a little longer so the author could’ve gotten into more detail of how they fell in love. Overall good performance by both Caitlin and Aaron.

One of the best

This was one of the best Cinderella stories I have listened to or read. I will read/watch/listen to almost any Cinderella story but this one made me feel so much emotion. Beautiful story, and the readers did a good job. I would love it if this were a movie!

Bleh

The book's story was okay. The narrator was awful, just sounded so whiny. The author wrote in too many scenes where the main character was just rambling. I was excited because it was a fae retelling, but it was a super letdown.

3.5 stars - good listen

I enjoyed listening to this book. It was an interesting take as it merged a fairytale with the fae. There some theatrical bits where you had to suspend reality, but since it’s a fairytale I took it for what it is. I liked it and it did its job of giving me a bit of escapism perfectly, even if it’s not perfect.
