The name is Mulcaster ... VISCOUNT Mulcaster!!!
Jeremy Sinden's unforgettable turn as a kind of proto-Emsworth in the lavish TV adaptation of Brideshead Revisited gets a fitting culmination here. He reels off a series of comic masterpieces in the form of Wodehouse's Blandings Castle regulars and some special guests but reserves particular genius for ninth Earl's redoubtable sisters Connie and Julia (can Lady Bracknell be far behind?). I give the story only 4 stars because it is a little bit of a reheat of the previous instalment (Summer Lightning) even to the kidnapping of the zeppelin-dimensioned Empress. One other minus is the slightly abrupt exit of Monty Bodkin before the finale when such a lively character deserved a send-off as memorable as Lord Tilbury's, if less odorous. Still with Sinden at the wheel it bowls along in jolly style like an Edwardian roadster and the happy couple are united at the end.

With a contented sigh
Jeremy Sinden has captured P.J. Wodehouse so very well in Heavy Weather.
The plots and subplots are delightfully entwined and keep Galahad on his toes.
While would be high profile personages are plotting to steal Galahad's ms, others see a fortune in publishing same. Meanwhile the Earl is determined to prevent his neighbour stealing his award winning pig. And then some.
A most enjoyable listen. I would like to hear Sinden read more of Wodehouse.

Wonderful
Best of Wodehouse. Hilarious, clever and narration is so so good.
Been listening to this to get off to sleep, instead I’ve kept the whole house awake by laughing out loud. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Simply divine
So many wonderful twists and turns make this novel one one of the most delightful and deeply moving of the Blandings books. Hilarious, insightful and a trifle sad at the end.

Sheer Delight and Laugh Out Loud Funny
The book is one of Wodehouse’s best, an utter delight. Jeremy Sinden reads it superbly, with a nice understatement, letting the absurdity shine through.
Thoroughly recommended, balm for a troubled world.

Best Wodehouse to date
I have listened to 15 Wodehouse on Audible to date and this is the best performance of all. Story is great, characters magnificent, language inspirational and reading absolutely the best.

A sunshine filled joy!
The sun always shines at Blandings Castle, true there are storms and 'Heavy Weather' but eventually the sun will come out again and shine upon the inmates of the castle. If you are already a fan of Wodehouse, then you will love it . If you are new to the delights of Blandings, I would suggest starting at the beginning with 'Something Fresh'. Although to be fair it doesn't really matter too much. A complete joy from beginning to end.

Absolute pleasure
Jeremy Sinden, the narrator, is an absolute pleasure to listen to. I have liked his rendition of Heavy Weather so much that I went on to get his other readings of PG Wodehouse's novels. Would highly recommend!
