Publisher's Summary

A corrupt king. A murdered queen. A missing princess...found.

Once upon a time, the Royal Trials were a sacred ritual designed for a queen to select her king. But nothing is as it was in the kingdom of Tiech. Not since the brutal murder of beloved Queen Ophelia.

The town of Ironforge revealed important secrets, but it all came at an unbearable cost. The streets run red with the blood of innocents, and Rybet’s heart is heavy as she returns to Lakehaven.

Facing court and her mother’s murderer will require more than just a brave face. She will need the skill, intellect, and support of those who love her. Or what’s left of them.

Torn between love and duty, Rybet faces decisions she never thought she would have to make.

This long lost princess will do whatever it takes to make it to the Golden Ball, even at the cost of her own happiness.

Where is book 4?! 😩

This series has been spectacular so far. I only wish book 4 was already available on audible. Hopefully it won’t be too long of a wait

Enjoyable enough.

Storyline was enjoyable, but predictable for me. Found the FMC a bit annoyingly weak, but able to get past it. I did not find the male narrator sexy in his performance. I dunno, maybe his slow somewhat stupid sounding characters did it.

Predictable ending

A good but predictable ending to the trilogy. I am a little saddened that it was more Why Choose than RH, but I guess I can't win them all. I loved the world that these books were set in, and am hopeful that we'll get to see Sage's story someday and will be able to revisit these characters at that time.

Great ending, I hope there's more

I listened to these nonstop! The audio was very good, the guys voice was off putting at first but I find that if the story is good, you get used to it. I would 100% recommend if you like romantic fantasy. There's great world building to the point that the last book leaves room for more. That would be my only complaint is that the supporting characters get built up more in this book so that now I want to know more about them. Hopefully that complaint becomes obsolete if the author chooses to do another series in this world. Great adventure, great listen/read!

this ending though

loved the story and following along as things unfolded. was on the mark of who killed the queen only by this book because of tiny hints. but then bham plot twist sees full cycle of another part of the story. ending went super fast. im hoping for a book 4 though the way this ended like what else is going to be faced.

Bring on the Magic

Oh my goodness!! This whole series rocked. I couldn't download it fast enough . Intriguing plots, daring escapes, unpredictable scenarios and love <3. Who but Tate James could pull it off flawlessly ? Beautiful narrative & performances. I want more, more, more.

Great series. Probably better read than listened to

It was a really good story. I didn’t much care for the male narrator. It seemed as if the laughs and chuckles belonged to the same person, and not the different characters he was portraying. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Dissatisfying ending

The ending seemed rushed and severely lacking in detail. Many seemingly insurmountable problems that the characters had the whole series or a whole book seemed to just be cleared up with the snap of a finger, and with little to no explanation. There was so much time spent with rambling characters and the heroine bumbling around even when there were emergencies, you'd expect more detail when major issues were solved. The heroine was also kind of an idiot... really slow on the uptake. It became increasingly frustrating. I wouldn't mind any of that so much if the ending was satisfying in terms of the romantic relationships, but it really wasn't. The relationships didn't seem solid in the end. The heroine and princes kind of talked about how their relationships would work, but not really. A true conversation was put off again and again and nothing really seemed resolved and solidified. They have no plan on how to deal with anything. Plus there was so little time spent on the princes relationships with the heroine in this book that it seemed like a side note... "Oh yeah, and I guess they ended up together. The end." Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this series. The male narrator didn't help either. I did feel that he sounded marginally less sinister in this book, but he's just so wrong for the characters I was still really annoyed.

Heir

Loved this series. The narrators did an awesome job and loved the way it was read. Female narrator for female part male narrator for male part. Such a great way to listen to a book
