Authentic

Her experience is uniquely her own. All mothers have a different story to tell about what childbirth was like for them. I've never heard of a birth nurse or whatever. Maybe a doula or birth coach. I have however, and still feel that although my baby is 4 months and toddler is 2, I want someone here with me. A woman deeply interested in our well being, to talk to and socialize with. Covid sucks. So isolated being a stay at home mom. It sounds like this was a very practical thing to do, hiring Rose, because yes it can be maddening. I never took any meds either. just the first two days in hospital. Nice getting to know her a little bit. I think she needs a little more enthusiasm and emotion in her reading though. It would be more enjoyable. Just a thought.

Perfect for when you’re feeling like company but you don’t want to actually talk to anyone

Mindy writes like she’s sitting across the table from you with the mimosas at brunch.

Yes, I said Brunch.

Yes, it has to be that specific stereotypical set-up because brunch is amazing. Brunch is uncomplicated; it doesn’t judge you for showing up with mascara smeared under your eyes, wearing your jammies or your Walkashame heels. Brunch is basic and that doesn’t matter because everyone loves it.

Mindy’s writing is just like brunch(but not basic). It’s accessible, easy to digest, and a balm for the soul. At the end her writing somehow leaves you feeling a little brighter and a little more hopeful about the world.

Look, I don’t know what that means either, I just know I enjoyed the heck out of it. I listened to her essays and I did the dishes and made bread.

I don’t like to do either of those things but somehow these essays made me do them both. So now I’m a better person.

So listen to these essays and You can be a better person too… Probably… Somehow

Mindy is delightful

I love hearing her read her own work. The story of her "baby nurse" and their relationship was heartwarming and sweet. The poignancy of being a single Mom when you've lost your own Mom years before was not lost on me.

Heart warming and touching

This was such a heartwarming, tearjerking funny story, I absolutely loved it. It was performed beautifully by Mindy. I think I'll check out some of her others.
