Great Book and Narration

This is one of my favorite books I have listened to and the narrator made it come to life with great use of her voice for each of the characters. This book is well done by the author as well as the narrator and it held my
attention throughout.

Intense psychological thriller that delivers

"Her Last Goodbye" is taut psychological thriller about a woman gone missing and the suspicion that falls on her husband. I won't spoil the story for you, but I'll say it's definitely a book that gets its hooks into you. I found myself stopped in my driveway wanting to finish the chapter! If you're a fan of Mofina's Tom Reed investigative reporter series, you'll appreciate the depth of the characters in this book. It's a bit more of a slow-burner than the fast start of, say "No Way Back" but he delivers the goods. It's a very engaging story. Narration is good, but since the main character is a man, it seemed odd to have a woman. (There are plenty of women characters, so it works.)

Would have been good, but...

I usually love books like this. However in this case, it was way too long. I had a feeling right at the beginning, when Greg described every single tool in his garage, that this was going to be an overly wordy book and I was right. It almost felt like the author was trying to reach some kind of word count. On top of that, the narrator was overly expressive during Greg's parts. It was very odd and hard to listen to at times. I don't think he needed to be made to sound quite that incredulous every time he thought to himself. All this may sound petty but after listening to 400 books, this one stood out and not in a good way. The story was good but the way it was executed was not.

On the Edge of your Seat

This novel has mystery and suspense and many twists and turns. I’m usually pretty good at figuring out whodunnit but the ending I did not see coming. Kept me on the edge of my seat and the reading was well done!!!it will not disappoint.

Disappointed

Didn't seem like a Rick Mofina story. A little boring to me. Struggled to continue listening.

good plot, cliche dialogue, painful narration

This is the first book I've read by this author so I don't know how it compares to his other works. As other reviewers have mentioned, part one is slow. It made me question if I wanted to continue being part of a book club! I would not have continued to the end otherwise. The dialogue in part one is painful. I'm not sure if it's due to the narrator's performance or the cliche writing or a bit of both. The story picks up and is actually interesting in part two. Part 3 falls back into cliche.

Was This Really Written By Rick Mofina??

This was the worst book I've ever heard by Rick Mofina. I'm really shocked he wrote something so terrible. I struggled to finished this book but thought it had to get better.....it didn't.

The narrator was awful and overly dramatic. Her men's voices were horrible but so were the women's voices.

Overall, this was one of the worst books I've ever heard.
