Publisher's Summary

"Suddenly, all those old country love songs I’d played so often made perfect sense.”

Gravel-voiced Gibson Bodine takes his lone wolf image seriously. The tough guy. The bad boy. He lives alone. Works alone. His one love - besides starting a good brawl - is sitting on a rinky-dink stage in a backwoods bar playing guitar and singing about things he’ll never have. When a video of him playing goes viral, Gibson ignores the unwanted attention. He’s got bigger things to worry about. Like the bomb his half-brother’s mom just dropped on him. And the fallout from the memento he’s been carrying around for 13 years. He doesn’t have time for fame...or love...or meddling neighbors stopping by with casseroles and questions. But one night in a bar, 50 miles from home, he meets her. And she changes everything.

In Bootleg Springs - home of the best moonshine and nosiest neighbors in West Virginia - secrets don’t keep. When the truth about Callie Kendall’s fate brings danger home, it’s up to Gibson to step up and be the hero. And maybe find what he’s been missing all along. Love.

Perfection personified!

I can’t imagine a better ending to this gem of a series. All of my questions were answered, but not in a predictable way. This is definitely a series I will listen to again and again.

Loved this series!!

I loved this series so much!! I’m going to miss the Bodine clan. The story was well thought out from beginning to end. Each character was rich with their own personality which made the story stay interesting throughout each book. I’m definitely saving this collection and will revisit in the future.

Amazing End to the Series!

What a finish to the series! This wrapped up in such a full circle way and there isn't anyone else I could have imagined Gibson finding his HEA with. All the questions get answered and readers finally find out the truth about what happened to Callie Kendall. I loved seeing all the Bodine's come together and the audiobook included a bonus epilogue that takes place about a decade later. There were also wonderful bonus items like how the series came to be, text messages between Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley, and great behind the scenes info. Stephen Dexter and Natalie Duke narrated this series wonderfully and I definitely recommend enjoying it on audio (especially this book)!

Almost perfect

While I enjoy the other books in this series, this one tops them all. I always held book 1 as the pinnacle of the series before I read this one, but the few problems I had with most of this series (and romance novels for the most part) weren't in Highball Rush. The problems I usually have and have had with the other books are each couple having stubborn, ignorant or prideful issues that cause them to either split up for a short time or ghost the other until they get their heads out of there asses and make up. Luckily in Highball Rush, once they commit and realize their feelings, they don't break up or have any dumb misunderstandings, just a 10 minute fight that they work out like a good couple. Instead of following the normal romance cliché the authors create suspenseful situations that don't detract from the main romantic plot and aren't unbelievable, which often happens. One last great thing is A REAL EPILOGUE! Most of the time if there's epilogues its like a 5 or 10 minute blurb showing either a proposal or the couple with a kid. This epilogue was 45 minutes of seeing all our favorite characters 10 years later on Christmas and talking about their kids, their gratefulness and how they've crushed their demons. All in all I personally couldn't ask for a better romance novel, no break ups, misunderstandings, good suspense and a great resolution/epilogue.

I loved this series

Everything about this series made me smile. It had alittle something for everyone; from steamy romance, to scenes that were emotional, and those that made you laugh, cry, or wonder who done it. The actors were spot on and the imagery plentiful. It was a pleasure to hear all six books.

I laughed, I cried, I didn’t want it to end!

My only regret about this series? I didn’t find it sooner! Like, where was I? Under a rock?!! Omg! From book one to book six, I was in love. My favorite was June and George but they were all so very amazing. I kept waffling between the “who done it”, but I was mostly sure…lol. Claire and Lucy together? Perfect book mate match! Also, the narrators, Dexter and Duke? Perfect!

incredible story. absolutely fabulous series.

5*++
Gibson is the eldest of the family and has always felt responsible for them. The effect of his drunken father has had a huge impact on his life.
Callie's disappearance 13 years ago is still throwing up people's curiosity and rumors circulating throughout Bootleg Springs, especially after the discovery of a picture of Callie & Gibson was found inside his wallet.
Mia Davis has been tasked to try and get Gibson to sign up for the record label she works for she's got a good record for signing talent up.
When Gibson spots her he feels a connection to her but he's never seen her before.
I've loved reading this series and was ecstatic to listen to them on audio.
The narrators truly fetched the book to life.

Families! You just can't pick 'em! 💗

Loved this book! Loved this series! Loved these characters!

What a great finale to wrap up this series. I was dubious about ever having soft feelings for the grumpy, obnoxious Gibson after so many 'storming out' angry incidents.... but there ya go. I was so wrong.

Also loved how the Callie Kendall mystery, that brilliantly wove tantalisingly through the whole series, was brought to a very satisfying conclusion.

Will be really sad to say goodbye to Bootleg Springs and the Bodine / Tucker / Thompson / McAllister families (and 'stragglers' 😘).

ok finish, weskest in series

enjoyed this last one, but not as much as others. seemed to lack some of the magic of ones before - it was more drama than romance, and I was a bit bored for a few chapters, or chose not to listen to child abuse.
