Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling Author Lynsay Sands delivers another sexy historical romance set in the wilds of the Highlands.

In all her daydreams about her wedding day, Lady Claray MacFarlane never once imagined being dragged to the altar by her greedy uncle and forced to marry a man she didn’t know. But that’s what happened, or would have, had a Highland warrior not snatched her up at the last minute and ridden off with her in his arms....

They call him the Wolf. The mercenary’s courage and prowess in battle are known throughout the Highlands, and with his handsome face and black-as-sin hair, he is as intelligent and deadly as the wolf he was named for....

But the Wolf is also Claray’s betrothed. Thought to have been killed as a child, he’s been in hiding all these years. Now he’s determined to earn enough coin to rebuild his home, reclaim his birthright, and honor his marriage contract to Claray. For he’s fallen for the tender-hearted lass...and he will do anything to protect her and their future together.

Another hit

I loved meeting new people and hear from older characters. This book did make me continue to guess at it. Well done but I would have love for more of the Buchanans to be in on the activities.

THIS WAS THE BEST SO FAR

I enjoyed this book mainly because of the narrator. The other books in the series were hit or miss with the narrators. Most were just tolerable.

I hope this narrator does many more...

Great read!

The reoccurring characters from other books is a delightful surprise. I'm sad that the family was murdered, since we met the delightful couple in the book An English Bride in Scotland. I hope to see Claray and Bryson in later books.

Meh...

Spoiler: The main conflict was how one enjoying sex is a sin. I'm obeying my husband so my soul wont rot in hell is a lame excuse. There are far better plots than this for a romance novel.

Not a sequel in this series

Slow and predictable. I guessed the reason why and the bad guy very quickly. I listened to book after awhile on 1.5 just to finish it. Save your credit. Not the best character development or plot and I am a fan of the this author. Good narration.

Highland Wolf

I have loved all the books in this series. Lynsay Sands' books have great stories and always make me laugh. I was disappointed at first as I thought she hadn't finished the Buchanan brothers stories, but the Wolf and Claray were intertwined with them all. Clever.

DON’T waste your money on this

Really poor , it is like someone else has written this book, it is not her usual standard, actually this book has no standards.
Did her publisher force her to Wright this and she had not the Hart to do it?
No proper story , the relentless animals is acutely pathetic. Squeak!!! Really …. Come on .

Apart from the pi** poor so called story, the writing was bad , it was told like a boring essay , nothing to engage with ,dragged and dragged it doesn’t redeem itself . There is no bones to it really upset

Highland Wolf by Lindsay Sands

Sands has a reputation for compelling dialogue, humour and the ability to weave the history of Scotland into her narratives. While Highland Wolf was a much awaited text, it unfortunately drags along meandering forest tracks with painfully slow syntax. The characters are a diluted version of her previous highland warriors which is disappointing. The heroine skips about rescuing rabbits and stoats and shows no real fortitude until the very last chapter where she is confronted with being raped with a Sgian Dubh held at her throat.
The motif of a wolf throughout should have been fleshed out more, to match her husband’s predatory reputation.
The books needs a prologue or maybe it could be called an apology. JNP
