Publisher's Summary

Griffin Lockhart holds the key to his family's fate. Since his brother Liam failed to reclaim the priceless heirloom that could save their ancestral Scottish estate, it's now up to Grif to find it - among the lords and ladies of fashionable London society. Disguised as a Scottish earl, Grif attends the most glittering balls, hunting for the woman who is rumored to possess his family's treasure. Along the way he catches the eye of Anna Addison, a highborn young woman whose sharp tongue and even sharper wits have limited her marital prospects but enable her to detect Grif's deception. Determined to find a husband this Season, Anna draws Grif into a scandalous bargain: She will deliver his precious heirloom - and keep secret his true identity - if Grif can teach her how to seduce a man and win his heart. Well aware of what a man wants from a woman, Grif reluctantly instructs her. Soon Anna is besieged by suitors and Grif's exasperation with the troublesome beauty turns into heated desire. With time running out, Grif commits a reckless act in order to claim not only his treasure, but the passionate woman he believes is his and his alone.

I like it but..

I like the series , but the women are frustrating. they are selfish and dumb. The round about way that they think about only themselves makes the story line frustrating. But at the same time it's like you have to keep listening.

Highlander in Disguise highly entertaining

I loved this book. But, I can’t imagine Julia London writing anything that isn’t exceptional. I loved the characters in this book and would love to hear more about their life in Scotland. Hopefully, that will be included in the next book, which I am buying directly. The plot is unusual making the book more fun.

Enemies to lovers

I couldn’t get past the narrative starting with the hero having a crush on her sister. Not my troupe. The whole story line of trying to get the heirloom back is boring to me. Not a fan of this one. Narrators voice is a bit droning.

Marvelous Story and Performance

Griffin Lockhart travels to London to find The Bestie that will save their family from poverty. Disguised as a Scottish Earl, Griffin Lockhart looks for the woman who bought the object from his sister in law. There he meets Anna Addison who finds the object and blackmails him into teaching her how to seduce the man she wishes to marry. Then life gets complicated. Lots of laughs and sizzling romance. Recommend.

Irritating

I had to speed it up so it would get done faster. It just irritated me and took far too long to develop. Anne Flosnik has never been one of my favorite narrators, but she does a great job with The Scottish accent. Some of the men’s voices are pretty good, I have yet to hear a female narrator who it can consistently do a really convincing man. As a bridge between the first and third novels it’s necessary, but you won’t lose much for skipping over some of the middle chapters.

So bad it's good??

I hated Anna so much. She was insufferable! Yet, this story had me laughing a lot with how insufferable she is
..like she's so awful it's comical. Grif was great the plot was super soap operay, like it felt over the top campy to me, which I liked. The steam level is meh.
