The Ultimate Guide to Hindu Gods, Hindu Beliefs, Hindu Rituals and Hindu Religion

In this audiobook we will explore numerous beliefs held by this diverse group of people. We will look at some of the legends of the divine "angels" that serve Brahman. Also, we will delve into some of the rituals that are common within Hinduism.

In addition we will do some comparative religion, looking at some of the similarities and differences between Hinduism and some other philosophies. This will allow us not only to gain greater insight into Hinduism but to see the common threads of philosophy found in many of the great religions of the world.

Hinduism is the oldest and the third largest religion by population. There are more than a billion Hindus in India, Nepal, Indonesia (Bali), Mauritius, Canada, New Zealand, Kenya, and elsewhere in the world who practice the faith. However, many scholars and practitioners believe that Hinduism is not a religion at all - it is a way of life, as Hinduism explains the purpose of human life, what you should and shouldn't do, how you should behave with others, and how you should carry out your duties and responsibilities.

Within this audiobook you'll find the answers to these questions and more. Just some of the topics covered include:

  • The meaning of Hinduism
  • Brahman and Atman
  • Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva
  • Indra and other key gods and godesses
  • Durga, Kali, and Mariamman
  • Karma
  • Reincarnation
  • Hindu rituals
  • Hinduism versus other belief systems
  • Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva
  • Tales of the Brahmin
  • And more!

It was just Ok

The narrator Sangita butchered the Hindu God names and nouns. For example Karma was pronounced more like Kama (Hindu God of love) which was confusing and annoying!

Hinduism Explained

Any additional comments?

Hinduism is an antique, changing, and multi-faceted subject. The author of this book chose to offer an accurate overview of this complex subject in a short format, and in my opinion did an outstanding job.

Good Explanations

Any additional comments?

This book is a very good foundation for someone who knows little about Hinduism and would like to learn more, however for someone who does know a something about Hinduism and would like to learn more it is a little unsatisfying.

Happy

Any additional comments?

This book was a pleasant way to be presented to the theories of Hinduism. Well written, comparatively short, and reasonably objective in its overview; the book highlights how Hinduism is not individually a "religion", but an entire culture.

Well Done

Any additional comments?

understanding Hinduism and its rich and humble beginning are very inspirational. I love the ideology of Hinduism and how it affects people with their beliefs and relationship with other people, and by combining it as a way of life is a life-changing event.

Hindu Religion

Any additional comments?

Overall, I would say this book is a good review of Hinduism. Not knowing too much before reading it I feel like I now have a good base of knowledge to begin catching some of the Hindu epics! At times it can be a little difficult. I felt the author jumped right into some deep, complex topics without too much preface.

Great Representation

Any additional comments?

This was a great presentation to the Hindu culture. Very informative. The Hindu myths are dated back to 5000 10000 years ago and are supposed to be even scientific. Very well explained and easy to understand.
