Publisher's Summary

I live in a world where secrecy reigns—a society rooted in power, wealth, and long-held dynasties, where men are kings, and women are pawns. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamt of escaping the shackles of my expectations, but it can only ever be a dream. I made a fatal mistake, and those shackles became a cage. Now, I’m trapped in a war with a man who controls my every move.

He’s my brother’s best friend. My enemy, my tormentor, and my solace. His words have the power to wound me. His touch just might break me. But this is his kingdom, and as long as I’m here, I only have one choice: I’ll play by his rules.

Is this worth 3 books?

After listening to this book I can't deny the story is good and the back stories are gripping but it's a LOT of repeating which makes me wonder why it's a 3 book series that could have easily been 2 and done. I'm tired of paying for 3 books to hear the same thing said 100 different ways! since Audible took away the fantasy escape package and most of their free books are not ones I read I am finding that 3 book series should be worth buying so all authors please quit spitting out 3 books filled with the same should I/shouldn't I, he hates me/ I love him/ no, I hate him/ he loves me, etc...
rant over. good story. could be 2 books!

I HAPPILY BINGE-LISTENED MY WAY THRU THE LOT

Knowing the nasty cliffhangers these two talented authors like to weave and leave you dangaling on, I knew I had to wait until all three books in this trilogy were out. And I’m so glad I did because the seamless flow meant I could binge-listen and get lost in Mercedes and Judge’s very addictive turbulent push ‘n pull rollercoaster romance. Plus, I love these all powerful privileged dark alpha Sovereign Sons with their dominant rules, possessiveness and jealousy and their twisted barbaric ownership mark ceremonies.

Here, disgraced Sovereign virgin Daughter Mercedes, finds herself punished by one of them.. Judge, her brother’s best friend who is tasked with her imprisonment and punishment after her selfish actions forced their hand. However, the chemistry sizzled between captive and jailer and their dysfunctional fire and ice friction and attraction sparked a forbidden awakening. But secrets, manipulations, distrust and much.. much.. much more litter their doomed emotional relationship. He was stubborn.. but she was sneaky. And, as well as the broken rules of the IVI Society, there’s also vengeful enemies, death threats and an estranged brother with a grudge. There's bitter angst and drama which also brings climactic tension, turmoil and nail biting bloody suspense.

Worth a credit? It’s three for this well narrated dual POV trilogy.. and yes yes yes, credits well spent.

Woooooooooooooow!

This is so good. You’ve got to read the previous books to totally grasp what Mercedes has done. You can jump straight into this if you’d like, but you wouldn’t understand why she has all this coming to her.
Narrators are great. The book is good all the way through. To the author…The ending! How dare you! 😉

Not sure where the romance is here

This is definitely a mafia family but I don’t understand the underlying problem facing the hero and his family. It’s clear he has feelings for the heroine but past baggage won’t allow himself to give over to the feelings. I think book 2 will illuminate what the actual conflict is.

Love the evolution of this story!

I loved Mercedes and Judge’s story most especially their ending. My only complaint is that the male narrator read like Captain Kirk and his attempt to give Santiago an accent despite the fact that he never had one in previous stories was annoying as well. His pronunciation needs work too. However I thought the female narrator did a fantastic job. I’m glad I got this trilogy and finally got to know Mercedes better, actually found her likable despite my previous impression of her, and was happy she finally had her own story.

I don’t get it it.

This book was ridiculous. The female narrator was way to dramatic sounding. She sounded like she was ready to cry through the whole book. And she had a continuous potty mouth. The male lead was a jerk and treated her badly thorough out the book. And I listened to the whole thing , right down to the cliffhanger ending that I could care less about. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Loved loved loved!

I really loved this book ^ …. Although some of the stupid things drove me mad thru the book like how the lack of communication keeps burying the female lead in her own mess is infuriating it was fantastic at the same time! 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Not a lot happens in this book

This book is slow to get off the mark, not a lot happens. I’m hoping book two will have more action and go at a faster pace.
