Great story and great narration

Holly Rayner is a new author to me and Meaghan Kelly is a new narrator so this was an exciting listen, I wasn’t sure what to expect but let me just say I will certainly be following both Ms Rayner and Ms Kelly from now on. I was drawn into the story and i could take my headphones off until I had heard the final line because I loved everywhere about Carman Fuentes and Jason Miller’s journey.
Carmen is writing a story on retired quarterback and now co owner of La Vega Vipers football team Jason Miller but whilst trying to give her the story she needs he also has secrets and that causes issues. Carmen is determined to get her story but as they get to know each other a friendship is formed and as time goes on that friendship turns to love but what will happen when they get a big surprise and will their relationship survive……
The story was entertaining, the characters easy to connect with and the narration was spot on. If you love slow burn romances look no further than His Shock Baby.

Loved it - Great story and narration

Although I have listened to narrator Meghan Kelly, Holly Rayner is a new author to me. I was drawn into the story and the performance and listened to this one in almost one go. They say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, but what about Cancun?

Carmen Fuentes is a reporter on assignment to write a story on retired La Vega Vipers quarterback and now co owner, Jason Miller. However Jason has secrets and is determined to keep them and complications quickly arise.

As Carmen and Jason get to know one another, a friendship develops. A ll that changes when a surprise rocks their relationship. Meghan Kelly uses a range of voices for her characters (doing a credible job with her male voices as well) which added to my listening pleasure.

This is a slow build relationship that was entertaining and had me invested from the first chapter leaving me with a smile on my face.

Great start to the series!

Smart, capable and ready to work, investigative reporter, Carmen Fuentes takes the job of finding out who Jason Miller, retired quarterback for the La Vega Vipers. This mysterious billionaire does not give out details of his life, but Carmen is determined. Jason's whole life revolves around the football team and when sports betting becomes part of the package, he is not going to take it. The sport and team mean much more to him than making an easy buck. Carmen and Jason fall into an easy friendship and while the articles are doing well, there isn't much shock value to them. Until there is...and it's shocking! Holly Rayner gives us a slow burning romance with a hint of suspense, just enough to keep us on edge and interested! It's a fun listen and left me smiling.

Meghan Kelly brings this gem to life with her talent. She is an amazing story teller and her voices are spot on for each character! Her voices are easily distinguishable and I love her male voice!!! It is a listen you do not want to miss!

His Shock Baby

This was a fun billionaire story. He ex-rivals little sister. And of course you can’t leave out the scum bag who you feel waves of danger coming off of. Very nice story. Nice narration.

If you're in the mood for a 'short' captivating story this is the one.
This story will draw you in from the get-go and not let you go.
I always get giddy when there is a Hispanic character in a book I'm reading and this time was no different.
Carmen Fuentes wants to make it big in the journalism world and Jason Miller is her way in.
Their relationship is one that is built slowly but so satisfying.
Meghan Kelly is an amazing narrator!

Cute story with a happy ending

I thought the storyline was interesting. It had a few unexpected twists and turns which made it even better. I was expecting for Emma to be involved with the betrayal but that didn’t happen. I’m glad the woman’s friendship was left alone.
The narrator did an amazing job! Each character was given its own voice & personality.

Exciting romantic story

This is an interesting romantic story about two people that due to old rivalry should not have any contact, but stars saw it otherwise. Each character faces his issues in life that they try to work with. They are lucky to have great support from people around them.

The narrator did a great job. She had used different voices for each character and made listening to this story very entertaining.

In this book we meet two people with very strong opinions. When reporter Carmen & Jason first meet up they both have ideas of what the other will be like. The more time they spend together though shows them another side of the person they thought they knew. Great story kept me hooked till the very end. There is only one person narrating it but she does a good job. I would recommend it

A Captivating Romance! Awesome Narration🎧

This is an enjoyable and entertaining romance novel, it is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are likable, easy to relate and connect with, they easy to care about too. Carmen Fuentes, a reporter for the local paper, comes from a sports family, so when her boss reassigns her to the sports section she was ecstatic about that, sees it as a step up from her current assignment of writing restaurant reviews. Her new assignment is includes interviewing her brother’s former rival, Jason Miller, who played football for the opposing team. Jason is now part owner of the La Vega Vipers, Carmen’s boss is really pushing to get the scoop on him, even going as far as telling her to spend time with him at the conference in Cancun. Up to then, they kept their relationship professional, but after a few too many drinks, they wind up having a one-night stand while in Cancun. Neither admitting to wanting anything more, despite enjoying each other’s company, they agreed to keep it a onetime thing. Besides the relationship drama, there is a lot going on with the business side of the Vipers Michale Argentino, a casino owner, has a stake in the team and wants to open up a sport betting venue right in the stadium. Jason sees it as a conflict of interest, but Argentino sees dollar signs and tries to get the other owners on board. This is not your usual billionaire surprise pregnancy type romance, it is so much more and there is never a dull moment in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, a touch of angst, some surprising twists and turns, heartfelt and emotional moments and a hot romance. Holly Rayner, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

She has a complete understanding of the characters she portrays, giving each a voice that fits that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role she plays and just as I picture the characters to sound. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and her narration enhances the story to another level. Thanks you for another wonderful listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

So much more than I expected!

I enjoyed this cute story. It really has a lot more than just romance in here. I loved all the intrigue and sneakiness. It really kept me on my toes and glued to my headset. I did listen to this on audio and Meghan Kelly did a great job! Her male voices are real good!
