Publisher's Summary

Earth is under siege.

For decades, the governments of our world have been fighting a desperate and secret battle to keep hordes of alien invaders away from our planet.

When the guardian of the United States falls, a new champion must be chosen. Sadly, the choice of a champion isn’t ours to make, and the Galactic Conflict Authority selects a human, seemingly at random, to lead the United States of America’s efforts at holding back the tide.

Hugh Logan is in the middle of teaching a class when he is taken against his will and informed that he is now the newest member of Earth’s defense against alien invasion. He must give up everything to become our champion. He must give up everything to prevent our destruction. He must become...a War Core.

Little forced but fun story

The premise is a little odd and feels forced to get the story desired. Get passed that and it’s a fun story. If you were a Warzone 2100 or Command and Conquer fan this will be right up your alley. Luke Daniels did an excellent narration job. I’m getting the next one.

Loved it!

This story line reminds me of the game called red alert and is a base building game. loved it and how you could upgrade in the game as well. The character building and world was really great. I really like how troops can command the mechs.

This rocks

This is one of the few new series to cure my listener fatigue. The story was fresh, the concept well thought out. It’s an excellent book and I look forward to the remainder of the series.

As always Luke Daniels is an absolute master of his craft! He can turn a dumper into a diamond, and this started out good, so his performance brings this to masterwork levels. This could easily be the next major series in the sci-fi universe.

Absolute blast

I very much enjoyed this audiobook. The story is unique and well written. It’s a great start with tons of room to grow. If you’re looking for a bit more sci-fi LitRPG then give this a shot. As always Luke Daniels does an amazing job narrating the story.

Just bad bad bad

Did I mention this is bad? It’s boring and the story does not make sense at all, it’s like you are watching a YouTube video of someone describing their play of command and conquer games.

Original idea very poorly executed
