Publisher's Summary

“I want to be upfront with you. No surprises, no secrets. I want you, Eva. And I think you might be it for me.”

Eva is a hot mess running from her past and doesn’t mind telling a fib or two to protect her secrets. It’s too bad that she moved to the nosiest small town in the world with Sheriff Sexy—the tall, built human lie detector. He’s suddenly showing interest and treating every conversation like it’s an interrogation.

Donovan loves his nice, quiet hippie town, and he’s got some pretty strong feelings when it comes to a certain klutzy redhead, too. But she’s hiding something. Just when he starts to peel back those layers to get to the naked truth, the entire town loses its collective mind—and inhibitions—in what town elders identify as an astrological apocalypse.

Can he save the girl from her past and the town from itself?

A swoony sexy romance of all the chaos

I loved Donovan and Eva’s chaotic whirlwind romance. This was a swoony, hilarious, fun, sweet, steamy, heart warming sort of instalove story with very little angst. Oh the feels you will feel while reading this book - one minute I was snort laughing, the next I was swooning, then gasping, then gritting my teeth, and then I was crying. Eva is a writer who recently moved to the quirky small town of Blue Moon Bend to be closer to her family. Donovan is the town sheriff who has been a secondary character in the earlier books in the series. They met close to a year ago and Donovan has not been able to get her out of his mind. Now that he decides Eva is the one, he just needs to get her in board. Unfortunately, there is a chaotic planetary alignment that is making the already weird town get weirder just as they decide to date. Thus begins the quickly picking up speed backwards train that is their journey toward their HEA. The interplay between the main characters, the interplay between them and the Pearce and Merrill families, and the ridiculous but loving town just add to the perfection of this story. This is a funny story but it’s also a deeply emotional story which includes witty dialogue, characters with depth who grow, and an engaging storyline. I’m so excited to read the next book in this series.

Pippa Jayne did a phenomenal job narrating the story and breathing life into the characters and quirky insanity into the town with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

I love Blue Moon!

First, let me say that the narration by Pippa Jayne is out of this world amazing!!!
In Holding on to Chaos we revisit Blue Moon during planetary alignment event that wreaks havoc on the small town and the residents into an uncontrollable disaster waiting to happen. Enter our hero, Sheriff Donovan and his love interest Eva. Donovan will work tirelessly to prevent the “impending apocalypse”, while Eva will have to deal with painful blast from the past. We get to visit with all of our favorite Blue Moon residents and see everything to a happy ending. As with all of Lucy’s Score books, the story is captivating, characters well developed and we get funny, swooney, loving, romantic and steamy all wrapped up in an excellent, must listen or read story!

Excellent

It’s refreshing to have a hero that holds it together. Our heroine is an adorable train wreck. The narration is amazing most of the time with occasional confusion because voices are too similar. Not a complaint because no chance I could do any of it myself. Loved this book

Chaos

Holding on to Chaos has been read by me many times but this is the first time listening to it. There were so many laughs, just like in the rest of the series. I did fins that listening made me not like Donovan as much as I did by just reading about him. He would go from being an a hole to being so nauseatingly mushy. I think it's just the tone from the narrator. I know I'm in the minority here but I struggled with a lot of the narration from sounding to old to missing the last letter in words and to the way she read Nico. This is one of my all time favorite series and 100 percent recommend this book and series but maybe just read instead of listening.

Some narration trends I didn’t like

Overall the narration was ok, but there were times the last syllable got dropped, usually with an “s” sound. It was like she was only saying 1/2 the word at times, kind of annoying. The story was good, a bit predictable but the town characters quirky personalities lend levity.
