Publisher's Summary

In the second book of Nora Roberts’s Dream Trilogy, the ever practical Kate Powell finds her career sidetracked by a scandal - one that will teach her the value of family, friendship, and love...

Surrounded by the sweeping cliffs and beauty of Big Sur, Kate Powell treasured both her life at Templeton House and the family who raised her like one of their own. Although Kate lacked Margo’s beauty and Laura’s elegance, she knew she had something they would never possess - a shrewd head for business.

Driven by ambition, Kate measured her life’s success with each soaring promotion. But now faced with professional impropriety, Kate is forced to look deep within herself - only to find something missing in her life...and in her heart.

Dream Trilogy

Nora has such a brilliant way of weaving stories together, from the first one to the last, all the while adding threads to the tapestry giving a unique pattern to each story, while maintaining the integrity of each character in their own personal place in the series. She's truly a genius in storytelling.

Good Series

Nice example of Nora's earlier work. I like the diversity of the characters and the storyline is humorous and believable. Worth the listen.

Good story, terrible lead character

I'm about halfway through this book and will finish it because I'm liking the series. However the lead character, Kate, is almost unbearable. She's more annoying and weak and her personality is the worst. I guess I'll bear it to finish this book in the series.

Great narrator

I re-listen to this book to enjoy Sandra Burr’s voice! And I enjoy the story too. Often in trilogies the middle character is the weaken, but I enjoy Kate

Interrupted

I did not like the music playing before the reading was done. It ruined the mood.

Bad Narrator, Great Author

This narrator makes the female cast sound elderly. The men sound ridiculous. This is the second of the series and Margot's character sounded like she was on the verge of a yawn the whole performance. Kate sounded like Margot from book 1. I don't think I'll be able to stomach audio book 3. I'll just read that one outright.

Laid back easy listening

I always enjoy Nora Roberts. Light and easy to hear. The reader did excellent. I will definitely hear the entire series.

Great second book

This was a fantastic story on its own but a fantastic sequel as-well. This book kept you intrigued until the end
