Publisher's Summary

Humanity is coming home.

Weeks after landing on Earth, the Hundred have managed to create a sense of order amid their wild, chaotic surroundings. But their delicate balance comes crashing down with the arrival of new dropships from space.

These new arrivals are the lucky ones - back on the Colony, the oxygen is almost gone - but after making it safely to Earth, Glass' luck seems to be running out. Clarke leads a rescue party to the crash site, ready to treat the wounded, but she can't stop thinking about her parents, who may still be alive. Meanwhile, Wells struggles to maintain his authority despite the presence of the vice chancellor and his armed guards, and Bellamy must decide whether to face or flee the crimes he thought he'd left behind.

It's time for the Hundred to come together and fight for the freedom they've found on Earth or risk losing everything - and everyone - they love.

Watch the show instead.

One of the rare instances where the show did it far better than the book. Don't bother unless you're a pre-teen girl looking for a poorly written book about love stricken teenagers.

Great books, but...

If you read these books before you watch the series, you will love this entire series. But reading the books after you’ve watched the series, they are a tiny bit disappointing. The captivating drama of the series is intense. I couldn’t stop watching it! The books just don’t have all the captivation. And, the books and series don’t follow one another. The differences are what makes the series far superior to the books. I can’t explain more without spoiling the story. So if your interested in the series-read first! Then watch! You’ll adore both that way.

Not really for fans of the show.

These books share a couple of things with the show. 5-6 names. The earth. Space. Otherwise, Bellamy is kinda like Bellamy. Clarke is a Boss in the show but a competent yet swooning doctor in the book. All the characters with recognizable names are much different or altogether different people. I’m not sure if the books came after the show or visa versa. But, the books are not nearly as compelling and the show has to reach for that sometimes. Either way, I’ll finish the series for fun.

Great book

I am a huge fan of the The 100 (TV series) and when I heard it was based on a Book series I knew I had to read it. Warning the books and TV series are only loosely related. The books take a different path and have less main characters. Overall I enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the final one.

4 star all the way

nice story but not the best. a fraction of time spent on recap and a speedy dramatize battle near the end. not much character development in any of the main characters either.

Disappointing

Most of the time you hear " The movie/tv show doesn't follow the books at all" and it's a bad thing. I'm very happy that the tv show doesn't follow the books. The show is Great! The books are horribly disappointing.
