Publisher's Summary

The Walker Brothers: Tall, dark, and deadly, these three brothers run Walker security. Each brother is unique in his methods and skills, but all share key similarities. They are passionate about those they love, relentless when fighting for a cause they believe in, and all believe that no case is too hard, no danger too dark. Dedication is what they deliver, results are their reward.

Book one, Hot Secrets: Royce Walker, a former FBI Agent, who's opened a private security firm with his brothers, has always had the hots for the prim, proper Assistant District Attorney, but considered her hands-off because of a family connection. However, when danger threatens Lauren, he isn't willing to stand by and watch her get hurt. Now the passion for survival is only rivaled by the passion burning between them. And that passion might just be the death of them both.

This was a great action packed suspense story. The hero was strong, hot and protective and the heroine was tough, strong-willed with lots up spark. These who worked great for me. I loved that he didn't try to change her or control anything but her safety! I enjoyed the suspense and wondering who was after her. I'll definitely listen to book 2!

The narration was good, I always enjoy Eric Michael Summerer and this book was no different!

It was Ok

I liked this story but I didn’t love it, I found Lauren to be a little bit dumb. She is a district attorney and she “knows” how fast things can turn and yet does she listen to her private security nope, so is it any wonder she ends up in trouble?

I was hoping for something I don’t know different unique but this just felt like all the same Romantic Suspense books.
Tell the woman to stay and she follows, equaling her to be in danger. Just so predictable.

The narration was the best thing about this book in my opinion.

Sex-moralist representation of women

I have to admit that I stopped listening to this book within an hour or so. If you're like me and you're desperately trying to find a book where female characters are sex-positive and unapologetic about their sexuality then this isn't the book for you. Not only does the female character buy into the "oh my god I'm such a slut for wanting sex" trope, but to add offense to injury, it's the male character that spends time mansplaining why she shouldn't feel that way. Wise-strong-male helps insecure-sheltered-female see the light. If that kind of stuff bothers you, DON'T buy this book.

Heroine is too stupid for words

How is this woman an intelligent district attorney? She has been getting threats for weeks and is creeped out but ignores them. Then she falls for Royce after a week or two and hears some woman call him and freaks out. Royce tries to protect her but she never listens to him. She continually puts herself at risk. Honestly I didn't care if she got hurt because she was too dumb to listen to anyone who is trying to protect her. She finds out her father is the one who initially asked him to check out possible threats to her she refuses to listen to anyone including him It was a truly annoying story. Why did he like her?

I'm sorry I wasted my time on this one

Another woman with a death wish

I'm with the other reviewers - the main female character doesn't have the common sense of a child and acts like a two-year-old having tantrums. Someone threatens you, injures you, attempts to injure you again. Numerous people tell you not to go out in public, but she does it anyway - repeatedly.

Unbelievable insta-love.

Dumbest heroine in history!!!

There is nothing I despise more than a weak heroine.

For a character that is supposed to be intelligent enough to have become an ADA, she couldn’t have been more ignorant or incompetent if she tried. I don’t believe I’ve ever uttered the phrases “shut the f@#! up” and “you dumb b#t@h!” more times than while listening to this audio book. This character literally did everything possible to endanger her how life. So much so, that I felt no sympathy for her when she was at risk.

Narration match story and passion

Hot, steamy, intriguing romantic suspense.

Royce Walker has the perfect job when it counts. He is allowed to use his job as the reason for protecting his long time obsession, Lauren Reynolds. She is the Assistant DA and has a boat load of trouble heading her way. But Royce maybe the one thing that no one expected to have her back (and front). The fireworks just bloom from there. Take the ride and enjoy as the climax rides its high and all the way to completion.

Jones has brought me another hot romance to get the blood flowing.

Eric Michael put that extra need in the way he voiced the story. A connection to the characters was forged with the words but bonded with his rich timber and smooth diction.

Filled with TSTL moments and tons of head talk!

Overall opinion: 2 Stars

Good storyline that was completely overwhelmed by constant self-doubt, 20 seconds to 140 seconds of head babel every time a question was asked, statement made or situation encountered and TSTL moments. The H was the typical dominant male with a soft side and possessive streak while the h was something else. I am not sure why female authors feel that making the h into a petty child acting out against whatever the man says makes the woman look independent, but it doesn't. The h is an Assistant DA but acts like a petulant teenager when the H attempts to keep her safe (he is a security expert). The TSTL moments are numerous. The only thing that drove me insane about the last 10 minutes was that the 'security expert' was unable to keep the h safe and barely made the save! Based on this case, the Walker Brothers will not have a successful agency.

Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.

What a great start for this suspenseful series!

What took me so long to listen to Lisa Renee Jones? I am wondering this myself! This is the first book of the series, and if you like strong, hot, alpha men and strong-willed, spunky heroines, you will love this book. Royce is the first brother of the Walkers and one that helps to run Walker Security. Lauren is the daughter of a senator and a DA litigating a high profile, death penalty case. Who better than to threaten than Lauren? And who better to protect her than Royce? The attraction is immediate, but while they are falling in love, there are secrets being kept, lives being threatened and too many suspects to track. This is a fast paced, thrilling romantic suspense and you will love it!

Eric Michael Summerer is an amazing narrator, and is perfect for this series. He can portray the alpha male and switch to the spunky female without missing a beat. Love his narrations and can't wait to download book 2!

Awful narration.. DNF..

I'm sorry but when a female sounds just like a man I can't listen to it. I know there's sex in this book and I can't even think about that, unless I'm listening to a gay romance, which I'm not. I don't know who chose this narrator because he's not any good at all. Had he been good I probably bought all the books in the series.

Lauren is talking to Julie at a party and they are talking sooo loud they're real close to yelling. It's ridiculous. Eric Michael Summerer whispered one time otherwise he had no emotion at all. I will not be listening to this narrator again. I prefer male narrators but they have to sound a little feminine when they read.

I gave the narrator 3 stars for Overall and Story to be fair for not finishing.
