Publisher's Summary

Why is learning body language useful?

First, body language is a subset of the larger field of study: nonverbal communication.

Body language is more honest than the words we utter. Body language helps us to understand what the other person is truly communicating to or telling us. So it is important. When we listen, we do not listen only with our ears. We listen with all our senses, with all our hearts and body.

Over 90 percent of the affective aspect of human communication is communicated nonverbally. Learning about body language is an important first step in “reading” people’s emotions.

How important are emotions to the process of communication? Very; the human species is an emotional species.

Learning body language is like learning a new language. You get to understand how nonverbal and verbal human behavior (and hints) act as an important tool of communication/interaction between people unconsciously.

By becoming more knowledgeable about body language, you can depict and interpret people’s attitudes, moods, motives, and intentions before that person even reveals it to you (and this can serve you well for manipulative and shady people). By this, you may feel that you can read people’s minds, but body language is only the act of predicting a person’s mental or physical movements towards communication. You can’t read minds with body language.

For this reason, learning to converse is useful. There’s information in body language. You can tell if someone is lying, or nervous, or happy. Their body language, paired with what they actually say, gives you an understanding of what is going on that you don’t get from just words.

Now, if you are sick and tired of misunderstanding other people, improve your own mental state and learn to read other people today!

Pull yourself together

Hearing you should “pull yourself together” can be harsh, but it can also motivate one to act. For me, it was the moment my wife said that to me while showing me an amazon receipt on my phone. She ordered me this audiobook in hopes I will stop procrastinating getting help, and actually work on my relationships with people (I have befriended some dodgy individuals). Thanks to her, I managed to apply the advice that Benedict Goleman and Daniel Robinson shared in their audiobook, which essentially leads to me cutting ties with some bad folks. Now, I feel like I may be able to turn my life around and protect myself against nasty people. Thanks, Lisa! <3

Get a grip on your life

It is not always too easy to “get a grip,” let alone “get a grip on your life!” I have suffered with a toxic girlfriend for almost six years now, and I know that life with her was a rollercoaster. I wanted to try this audiobook due to my friend’s recommendation, who has just divorced her abusive wife. She sang Goleman and Robinson’s songs of praise, so I had to get it. I am not disappointed at all – it is a well-researched, insightful, and relaxing book with an amazing narrator. What else is there to want, other than more?

Sound advice

I simply love how motivational this audiobook made me feel after I finished listening to it. It’s like watching a movie and feeling like the superhero – you want to act and do good. That was much needed – this audiobook outlines what problems the wrong people can bring into your life and how to deal with them. Also, I love that the authors included some background in terms of dark psychology roots – very educational, especially for people new to the subject. I rated this audiobook a 5/5 because it is effective, pleasant to listen to, and motivational – the best combination to get you started!

An intriguing audiobook

I was very intrigued by the title, “How to Analyze People with Dark Psychology.” I was not certain whether or not the book itself was going to be trash, or if it was actually going to provide solid advice on the subject of psychology. Thankfully, most of the reviews are accurate in showing that the audiobook is worth purchasing. I found that the material was easy to go through and, thanks to the narrator, I was able to just kick back and relax while I listened. The authors did a splendid job of covering the ins and outs of dark psychology as well as what one can do to improve own skills. Well done.

Pulls you right in

Before you start listening to this audiobook, make sure to grab some snacks, a drink and sit in the most comfortable chair because it is going to pull you in. I have to admit – I finished this audiobook in one sitting because it was so easy to listen to. Thanks to the narrator, I found it much easier to absorb and memorize the authors' content. The whole audiobook is packed with advice and methods you can use to get better at reading people as well as using your body language to your advantage. I simply have to leave a five-star rating – this book deserves it.

Very helpful

A very helpful and insightful audiobook, if I have ever seen one. I am not doing too well in terms of being easily manipulated, especially since I have always been quite naïve. One of my friends recommended this audiobook on my Uni course, and I am grateful to them for it! I have listened through the book many, many times, and it always helps me realize that I can learn to get what I want. I especially enjoy the voice actor’s performance – not only is their voice really clear and smooth, but their pronunciation is also always on point. Thank you so much!

Terrific audiobook

A terrific audiobook that will help you learn all about dark psychology and how to utilize it. I bought this a while ago, and it helps me avoid being manipulated in my day-to-day life as a senior in a care home. My children live in different parts of the country, so they cannot always visit. That’s why I got this – so I do not have to feel like someone else is pulling on my life strings! I have had much more luck with trying out hypnosis since getting this (I have always been interested in it) – the authors really motivate you to try things out!

Soothing to listen to

It was very soothing to listen to – I got this mostly because I read the recommendations based on the voice actor’s performance. Not only is this an informative volume, but it is also indeed a pleasure to listen to! A 10/10 in my books!

I highly recommend it

I highly recommend this audiobook by Benedict Goleman and Daniel Robinson. Here is why. I have listened to the chapters contained within multiple times, and they never seem dull or too hard to understand. The advice provided by Goleman and Robinson is fantastic. It works wonders, especially for people who have been manipulated in the past. When it comes to the narration, there is nothing negative to say about it – the talent shines through and speaks for itself. However, I appreciate how calming the voice is, especially when you want to listen to the book and relax. In general, I am delighted to leave this audiobook with five stars, as it wholly deserves it.
