Excessive Undertones of Author’s Personal Political Views

Difficult to pick up any useful content because of speaker’s (Molly Shadel) overly blatant political messages. There is some good content, but she lost credibility with me when after 3 hours in, EVERY positive example of Effective Speech were from political figures from one political party, and all negative examples were from the other party.

I still desire to improve my own speaking skills, but will now be looking elsewhere.

One of the best!

Firstly, when it comes to the quality of an audio book, the narration is most important. It needs to be clear energetic and genuine sounding. On this, Ms. Shadel hits the ball out of the park. The clarity and precision of her mastery of English language and pronunciation is enviable. I kind of fell in love with it. I wish she would make a book just about the mechanics of speaking clearly and voice, because she is a master of it.

Then comes the content.

This book is filled with excellent pointers for all kinds of speaking situations, from interviews to presentations, to meetings. All entirely, great, with many examples.

For me, this book is on my Top 10 list, and I read and listen to a lot of books.

Highly recommend for anybody wanting to succeed, because what good is a great idea, if you can't communicate! 👍👍👍

Thought Provoking and Applicable

Persuasion, influence and argument are components of life, not just profession. Great foundation for self development as well as a primer for recognizing the core intent of a speaker attempting to influence, motivate, or inflame your emotions.

Misleading

Not all of us are law students needing to use IRAC.. I thought this would be more about effective speaking IN ANY setting rather than just in court.

Perhaps there was good information buried within the common sense uselessness presented.

Sexist

Have very sexist undertone. As a professor and an attorney, she should be more neutral.

A much recommended course

English is my second language and I’m fairly well versed in English. in my my professional role, I’m required to negotiate with my peers, stakeholders, senior leadership people. I’m required to present in meetings and I’m leading a group of well talented team members. My communication os for unstructured and most times I end up blabbering.

This course improved my confidence by 10 times, by teaching me the basics of communication, oratory skills. Posture to present. The 24 hrs was a worthy investment of time, if they implement the teachings. This course will truly make a person to be confident and speak effectively in any setting.
