Publisher's Summary

Are you addicted to wine o'clock? Has that little relaxing treat become a daily routine? Have you tried to cut down and found you can't?

Craig Beck is a well-regarded family man with two children, a lovely home and a successful media career; a director of several companies, and at one time the trustee of a large children's charity, Craig was a successful and functioning professional man in spite of a 'two bottles of wine a night' drinking habit. For 20 years, he struggled with problem drinking, all the time refusing to label himself an alcoholic because he did not think he met the stereotypical image that the word portrayed.

He tried numerous ways to cut down; attempting 'dry months', banning himself from drinking spirits, only drinking at the weekend and on special occasions (and found that it is astonishing how even the smallest of occasions can suddenly become 'special').

All these 'will-power' based attempts to stop drinking failed (exactly as they were destined to do). Slowly he discovered the truth about wine addiction, and one by one, all the lies he had previously believed started to fall apart. For the first time, he noticed that he genuinely did not want to drink anymore. In this audiobook, he will lead you though the same remarkable process.

The Craig Beck method is unique:

  • No need to declare yourself an alcoholic.
  • A permanent cure, not a lifetime struggle.
  • No group meetings or expensive rehab.
  • No humiliation, no pain and 100% no 'will-power' required.
  • Treats the source of the problem, not the symptoms.

Game Changer

I can't believe I'd never heard of Mr. Beck or his approach before finding this audiobook here. This is a total game changer for me. I'm a high-performing professional woman who had, what seemed like, a "dirty" secret. Since I'm in the healthcare industry, there was no way I was going to talk to my doctor about it. Over the past years, wine had become a must-have each night. I'd go to different stores to pick up a bottle on a daily/near daily basis, so that I didn't get a "reputation." I'm not sure how well that worked... In any case, I haven't craved wine (really) since I finished the book (actually, it was a bit after starting it). I love that I have a whole new way of looking at alcohol - what it is, and what it is NOT. I've followed up with one of the hypnosis recordings and have listened to it each night since. I can't tell you how relieved I am to NOT have to stand in front of strangers and tell everyone in my life about my problem. Without any guilt! I feel absolutely wonderful. I've already shed some weight and I feel confident that I'm on the road to a healthier life than would have been, with a happier marriage and SOOO much more time back. It was Mr. Beck's calculation of the amount of time he lost from his life and loved ones when he was drunk that made me realize that I'm not only adding years to my life, but so many more special moments starting NOW. Highly recommend this.

so impressed!

I was a bit ambivalent when I downloaded this. I only did so because of all the great reviews . this book is a game changer! !! I've been listening to audible for some time and this is my first review. I'm taking the time because the author asked me to at the end of the narrative.amd I am so impressed with my change of perspective that I couldn't imagine ignoring a request from someone who has change my life. it's a new day! Thank You!!!!!!!!!

But what about the wine part?

The title makes it sound like this is specific to wine drinkers but it barely mentions wine. It's the same book as Alcohol Lied to Me, which is a good book but the title doesn't represent the content. This book doesn't have anything different or wine-related than his others.

Read this and say Goodby to Alcohol

I tried everything I went from hard liquor to wine thinking less alcohol grade and the natural process of wine could satisfy my drinking problem just to to find out that is even worst. From $150.00 hypnosis sessions to other way of trying and errors this reading worth your attention. The supplements recommend in this book especially the 5htp will help you get thru alcohol issues and problems and I can only add the benefit of the b12 vitamin to aid in such difficult process.Wish you success in trying.

A fresh approach. Fascinating and well worth listening to. I don't think I will ever look at a glass of wine the same way again.

Excellent Book

If you could sum up How to Stop Drinking Wine in three words, what would they be?

One of the best stop drinking books written. He just got to the point on why drinking is not worth it.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from How to Stop Drinking Wine?

Stop drinking it will eventually kill you. Its a slow ugly process.

Life changer

This book made me completely change my perception of alcohol. It enabled me to realize that, no matter how beautifully bottled and labeled; or how masterfully disguised in aromas and flavors alcohol is a highly addictive drug. I want more life changing books like this one.

exactly what I need

This book is genuinely entertaining plum full of useful information. Learning the value of standing up after I fall down in a very young age, this audible encourages me to conquer what I most struggle with. To un-wine at night. Due to a sometimes very stressful job it is hard to not turn to wine, tho it only be a couple glasses, I now see and understand why my brain says stop and my ego says go.

Fantastic and Amazing

I never thought i could stop just like that. I have done and I feel amazing and positive. My mood is really happy. Giving up a twenty year habit just suddenly stopped. The great thing is I don't even miss the glass (bottle) of wine after work. I don't even think about it. This really is an incredible turn around. It is all pretty simple advice and just looks at the myths behind the so called benefits of drinking. It simply looks at the truth behind the lies. I then followed this book up with the hypnosis of stopping drinking also by Craig Beck. Amazing.

This is the narrative of Alcohol Lied To Me

I have read the ALCOHOL LIED TO ME book and this Audio ‘how to stop drinking wine’ is the majority of the Alcohol lied to me book - WORD FOR WORD.
I feel duped and disappointed not to mention out of pocket.

For me the best yet

I don’t exactly know why this book resonated with me so well. Nor do I care. I have heard most of it before, yet this time something just clicked . The message sunk in well and truly and I finished the book with a huge sense of excitement, not the feeling that deprivation is around the corner. I’m totally grateful that Craig has sheared his experiences and appreciation much humour as well as shocking but powerfully simple messages. Well done Mr.B 👌

Alcohol - the truth

This book made me question how I saw alcohol and why I drank. I didn't necessarily agree with everything I heard but I did make me reflect on what I did believe in a more open way. I'm now 41 days alcohol free and this book helped

A Realistic View of Giving Up

I initially thought this guy would get on my nerves but in the end i really enjoyed the book. There were times when I wondered whether he was trying to persuade me to give up drinking or start taking heroin, but this will all make sense when you listen.
A down to earth, realistic book about the realities of the kinds of problems you will face when giving up alcohol, along with some tools for overcoming them.
A very good read, will be checking out his website next.

Good content very informative, narrator "ok"

Enjoyed the content and fact. Certainly enough fact and thought provoking statements to help me reconsider my relationship with alcohol. However I just just couldn't warm to the narrators ranting style.

Excellent

This book is life changing. The author is real, speaks from experience & backs up the reasons why alcohol is damaging with evidence. I will listen to this audio book over & over to reinforce the information. Thank you.
Most helpful & practical audio/book I have come across in a long time. Highly recommended.
