Publisher's Summary

Have you ever wondered what separates people who think bigger from people who set their bars low? What makes one person accept low standards and another person constantly raise them?

Why does one person strive to build an international organization affecting the lives of millions of people while another person is content working her entire life as a clerk? (Not that there's anything wrong with being a clerk!)

Why is one person challenging herself to run marathons, train her body, and get fitter while another is happy living a sedentary, unhealthy lifestyle?

What drives a person who's optimizing every single aspect of her life, and what causes another person to maintain the status quo?

You can say, "Well, the answer is simple enough - one person is ambitious while the other one is not." But what exactly causes it? How do you become more ambitious and think bigger? Is it something you're born with and can't change, or is it something over which you have control?

I found this topic so fascinating, I decided to find out the answer for myself and write a book about it. This book is the result of my research about people who think big and the science of being more ambitious.

Short, sharp and shiny

One of the best single hours I've spent listening to a book. So many small nuggets to take away. Will have to listen to it again. And can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

Enjoyable and easy to understand

I listened in total on one trip a couple of hours away and then back. Easy to understand, and implement. I feel like a better roadmap has been laid out for me than my brain had in store for me. Definitely worth the listen.

Helpful Advice that is straight to the point

I am trying to change my mindset because right now I have no confidence in my own abilities and I'm tired of my limited belief. There are so many useful tools in here to help me grow, change my mindset, and if one thing doesn't work I can try something else out. One thing that seems so obvious but blew my mind was when he wrote how if we are feeling lonely or unloved, that we should address that first because we cannot think bigger if we focus on something smaller. Those thoughts can be all consuming sometimes, but until he put that into words for me I didn't fully realize the truth in that, and now I have somewhere to start and work on before I move on and grow. I definitely recommend this book!

Very helpful

I believe this book should be called Standards. Because it's all about how to set the foundation and establish them in your life. But in this fluid way where you can keep growing every time you read it. Because it's not really rigid. It's really useful and well written.
