Publisher's Summary

A global security expert draws on psychological insights to help you master the art of social engineering - human hacking. Make friends, influence people, and leave them feeling better for having met you by being more empathetic, generous, and kind.

Eroding social conventions, technology, and rapid economic change are making human beings more stressed and socially awkward and isolated than ever. We live in our own bubbles, reluctant to connect, and feeling increasingly powerless, insecure, and apprehensive when communicating with others.

A pioneer in the field of social engineering and a master hacker, Christopher Hadnagy specializes in understanding how malicious attackers exploit principles of human communication to access information and resources through manipulation and deceit. Now, he shows you how to use social engineering as a force for good - to help you regain your confidence and control. Human Hacking provides tools that will help you establish rapport with strangers, use body language and verbal cues to your advantage, steer conversations and influence other’s decisions, and protect yourself from manipulators. Ultimately, you’ll become far more self-aware about how you’re presenting yourself - and able to use it to improve your life.

Hadnagy includes lessons and interactive "missions" - exercises spread throughout the book to help you learn the skills, practice them, and master them. With Human Hacking, you’ll soon be winning friends, influencing people, and achieving your goals.

Instead of this, buy “Social Engineering, Second Edition”.

I hate to give this a bad review, but after reading Christopher’s other book, I didn’t feel like this added a single piece of information. Additionally, many of the stories are the same. Buy that book instead- it was much more thorough! :)

Great story telling audiobook!

Im pretty sure content review is plenty out there. But i would just like to highlight that the story telling techniques in the audiobook is superb! Really loved the overall tone and mood of the narration. I literally clapped my hands after the audiobook is finsihed. Totally worth it on the audiobook!

//not sure if the author actually applied the human hacking techniques though whilst reading the audiobook. If he does, it really works.

Modern update to Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People

I’ve read Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People” several times. I disliked his tacit approval of using flattery and white lies to influence others. This book has the best of Carnegie’s material with an emphasis on acting ethically.

It does not go too deep

I have realised some things and the described techniques propably work on a lot of people. But I never lost feeling during listening, that if you are speaking with boost your capability to realise that someone is trying to pull the strings.

The best book on communication.

This is the best book on communication I've ever read. If you don't have a clue , you've found the book for you !!

not real helpful

This book is geared for those who wish to strategically take advantage of others. There are some nuggets in it and perhaps some cases where it might help, but for the most part not.

Paradigm shifting book

This was a fantastic book that I will have to reread often and practice individual skills in eachchapter. If you want to learn to have better relationships this book is a very practical guide to get it what you want and applying positive persuasion techniques without being manipulative.

Amazing and informative.

Follow on from Christopher’ previous book and loved just as much.

The experiences and stories Christopher tells make it so easy to visualize and be in the moment with what he is trying to teach.

Easy and fun listen

Chris Hadnagy is great in what he's doing, but is equally awesome in sharing his techniques in a fun and story-like way. Absolutely recommended!

Something about this book...

Is it the excessive sales pitch (but I have already purchased it)? Is it the excessive personal stories? Is it the egotism that runs through the book?

A very dry read. I felt I had to fight with myself to not turn this off in order to give it a chance. Sorry author!

Armature Cons, and self embellishment

I do not know who would fall for this person's tricks. This book is not recommended.

The book is not on how to 'Win Friends and Influence People" Its about how an amateur tries to gain entry into businesses with nieve cons.
I can not believe people fall for these tactics. Our group certainly would not and they try regularly, mainly electronic.

If you want to achieve those goals of "Winning Friends and Influencing People", the biggest selling book on the market is: How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age By Dale Carnegie & Associates. which is highly recommended.
