Publisher's Summary

It's been three months since all the adults disappeared. Gone. Food ran out weeks ago, and starvation is imminent. Meanwhile, the normal teens have grown resentful of the kids with powers. And when an unthinkable tragedy occurs, chaos descends upon the town. There is no longer right and wrong. Each kid is out for himself, and even the good ones turn murderous. But a larger problem looms. The Darkness, a sinister creature that has lived buried deep in the hills, begins calling to some of the teens in the FAYZ. Calling to them, guiding them, manipulating them.

The Darkness has awakened. And it is hungry.

NEED NEW NARRATOR

If you could sum up Hunger in three words, what would they be?

The struggle between good & evil

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kyle McCarley?

Scott Brick, Dick Hill or Therese Plummer

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could if the narrator was not annoying.

Loved the book, tolerated the Narrator.

The book is great but the narrators choices of accents and voices was distracting and weird.

Fantastic Narrator

I did heavy research through reviews before purchasing this book. I was apprehensive, considering a lot of reviews say the same things- bad and good. But I feel compelled to say this narrator is truly gifted. The amount of voices he maintains perfectly is beyond impressive. Well over two dozen specific and memorable voices. His characterization brought this book to life, and I was moved to tears several times. The incredible and engaging storyline helped with that, too. Absolutely worth every cent. Bought the third book on audiobook right after and can’t wait to get it started.

I get the narrator hate buuut.....

I get why everyone dislikes the narrator. He sounds like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory and its grating at first but hes actually really good at creating atmosphere, doing voices, and reflecting the tone of the story. His Dekka, Mary, and Diana are awkwardly deep but every other voice is pretty great. The whole book series itself is amazing so don't worry about that. It's easy to get over the "Sheldon voice" because he's actually a great voice actor and the story is so engrossing you wont even care after a few chapters. Highly recommend!

Meh

The book itself was amazing. But the narrator did not do it justice. He was annoying and made it hard to focus on the story. I wish they would redo it with a more likable narrator. But I did manage to enjoy the audiobook.

Annoying Narrator

Everytime we said, said it was really obnoxious and annoying. I wish he changed up the way he said it, he had no emotion for each time he said, said.

Hunger by Michael Grant

I do not like the narrator's style. A female narrated it on YouTube much better.

Awesome story.

loved the story, but the way the narrator pronounced the word " said" sounded like" sad" and it annoyed me so much I about turned it off.

Great book horrible voice over. Just horrible.

I love the story but I can barely get through a chapter with this guy!! He takes an abrupt breath between EVERY sentence. He also reads soooo slow. I found if you speed it up the breathing is a little less annoying but it's still a very rough listen. I dont know how I'll get through through all of these if they are him reading it
