Our lives are defined by the stories we tell ourselves, but those stories aren't always true. Narratives that are based on outdated or irrelevant information can run (or ruin) our lives for years, even if those stories are wildly different from the objective reality that formed them.

Story
I almost didn’t publish Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It. Here I was, a CEO who’d fallen apart after his company failed, writing a book about how loving himself saved him. I thought I’d be a laughingstock and my career would be finished. But I stepped through the fears and shared my truth with the world. The book went viral. Amazing people all over bought copies for friends and family. For some, this book saved their lives. For others, it was the first time they ever loved themselves.

Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things - a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: Instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others.

Unable to access resources on website
Bait and switch, I was not able to access the meditations that are supposed to be used in the book. Going to the website just harvests your data and you never receive the resources that are said to be necessary and included with the book.
Going directly to the author’s website just funnels you to pay for the same meditations that are supposed to be included with this book.
Very disappointing to see that the author uses such shady marketing techniques.

Couldn't Relate to this Book
The narration of the book is very soothing and easy to listen to but I couldn't connect with the content much. It was a bit tiring hearing about the author's celebrity clients and how successful she is. In my opinion, people suffering with low self esteem and "being stuck" don't benefit from hearing about the accomplishments of celebrities and millionaires.

Self talk without REAL WORK is a lie
Marissa peer is not a licensed therapist
Her rapid transformation therapy is NEW AGE RUBBISH , rolling your eyes in the back of your head. ? While she tells you how wonderful you are is dangerous nor does it change your life , the only thing that changes your life is Looking in the mirror and being totally honest with yourself, she doesnt share her life nor her struggles which to me says a lot about her she claims to have cured her cancer twice ? But never talks about it , ? Making millions charging crazy prices for her courses .. makes out she has the perfect life ? Absolute rubbish

Love! (I just need to implement now!)
I got the paper book of this and was pretty disappointed, to be honest. Firstly it was pretty flimsy for the £10ish price tag but more importantly, I didn't find it at all easy to read when compared to other Marisa books.
The content of the book was no more than I have heard on her Youtube videos and various podcast interviews (The Lewis Howes one, in particular, is great).
The audio is much easier to absorb the information and while it's always better to have the author read their own book I found the narrator to be really good and sounds really passionate about the content.
Having the audios at the end of the book would have also been much better than having to register at her website and have to download them onto your device.
Also, Audible- the cover photo used here is misleading as there is no audio

Exceptionally Helpful
I am at the lowest point of my life and have been off sick for 6 weeks due to breakdown from stress at work and divorce. I have another 5 weeks of sick leave to make myself better. My GP are encouraging me to take antidepressants. I am so against taking these pills as I believe that I can help heal myself through talking out how I feel and doing something about it. Listening to Marissa Peers' I Am Enough has helped me realise that I should retrain my brain by changing my habits and limiting beliefs that sabotage my goals.
One of great books I've read. Thank you.

A good recap but nothing too groundbreaking
If you're already well-versed in the self-development or neuroplasticity world this is pretty basic knowledge. I felt like I'd already heard most of this in the YouTube videos I've watched of Marissa, which is great that so much is out there for free but to have paid I hoped for a little more. Nonetheless the message is so vital and simple 👏🏼👏🏼

Practical and compassionate
Easy to follow and understand . A compassionate perspective and lots of practical suggestions for creating positive change in our lives. Nicely read, although I would've preferred it to be read by the author.

Simply Perfect Psychology
Together with Tell Yourself a Better Lie, this book is the final piece of my personal jigsaw that Ive been working on for decades and was never able to complete. I feel liberated. Thank you so much Marisa. I don’t think you understand how much you’ve done for me.

Practical no nonsense message you need to hear!
Beautifully honest and straight-forward. I instinctively knew all of this information and practice would work for me as soon as I heard it. It was like I already knew most of these things. Marisa put’s it in a logical order with instructions on how to apply it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain from the first day you say ‘I am enough’

This book is enlightening & brilliant!
I Am Enough is brilliant and Marisa is right - her concepts would be wonderful to include in the school curriculum - it would have saved me a lot of angst if I’d had the tools outlined in the book taught to me in school. A must read for anyone struggling with relationships and life’s issues. Marisa has put the pieces of my puzzle together. Thank you Marisa.
