Story
Scandal has derailed Journalist Kitty Logan's career, a setback that is soon compounded by an even more devastating loss. Constance, the woman who taught Kitty everything she knew, is dying. At her mentor's bedside, Kitty asks her - what is the one story she always wanted to write? The answer lies in a single sheet of paper buried in Constance's office - a list of 100 names - with no notes or explanation. But before Kitty can talk to her friend, it is too late.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Playful and at times intensely moving, this is a novel about how seeing isn't always believing. Full of Cecelia Ahern's trademark warmth and poignancy, If You Could See Me Now is a story of enormous hear, and just a little bit of magic.

Ingenious story line, lovely narrator
Everyone has their own tastebuds (as my son says). Another reviewer hated this narrator. Perhaps it's because I'm a sucker for Scottish, Welsh and Irish accents, I totally enjoyed both readers. The voice for the imaginary friend was a tad odd, but uh, so is an invisible buddy, eh? By the end I thought his narration was spot on. The story was very unique and dealt with imaginary friends in a way I've never encountered before. Very creative, thought provoking and well worth the listen.

OK
It was an unexpected story from this author. I read her first book "P.S. I love you" a couple years ago and loved it. And then skipped her second book "Rosie Dunne" because of the style. I picked up this one because I really like the first and was surprised that there was a fantasy element to it. However, it was a good development of characters and I found it fun and easy to listen to. Good narration. I would recommend for an easy read.
