Publisher's Summary

In this poignant novel from million-copy bestselling author Imogen Clark, an extraordinary final wish brings five lives together forever.

Just turned eighteen, Romany is on the cusp of taking her first steps into adulthood when tragedy strikes, and she finds herself suddenly alone without her mother, Angie, the only parent she has ever known. In her final letter, Angie has charged her four closest friends with guiding Romany through her last year of school—but is there an ulterior motive to her unusual dying wish?

Each of the four guardians possesses an outlook on life that Angie wants to give her daughter as a legacy. Three of them have known each other since university: the eternally nomadic and exotically named Tiger; the shy and practical Leon with his untapped musical genius; and Maggie, a brilliant lawyer who doesn’t know her own abilities. But the fourth guardian is a mystery to the others: they’ve never even heard of former model Hope before…

As the guardians reflect on their friendship with Angie, it becomes apparent that this unusual arrangement is as much about them as it is about Romany. Navigating their grief individually and as a group, what will all five of them learn about themselves, their pasts—and the woman who’s brought them all together?

Totally Forgettable

Boring is the word that comes to mind when I consider my overall response to the book. The title 'Impossible to Forget' conjured promises of remarkable characters. I found all the main characters to be nothing more than ordinary...to the extent of being just plain boring.

Awful

Totally banal. Struggled to finish. Characters uninteresting and predictable. I usually don't write reviews but this was so bad I had to.

Rather Boring...

Based on the story synopsis, I didn't realize it would take almost 3/4 of the book before things get going. That's where I'm at now. Nothing special has happened yet really, silly plot lines thus far, and the emphasis of the book details about a girl losing her mother hasn't even happened yet. The first 75% of the book I am finding quite dull and I don't like all of the colloquialisms in the writing. The narrator is just OK, but not that engaging. I tried to "return" it but cannot, so I will likely listen a little further and see if something actually happens before leaving it. But if I knew then what I know now, I would not have ordered.

Amazing Story!

A cast of best friends from college stroll through life hand in hand, arm in arm, enduring good times and bad until in death they are parted from one. The characters you will grow to love as deeply as they love each other.

Perfect narrator/story match

So many books I’ve heard have been spoiled by the narrator.
But this lovely book (which starts with a rather sad event, but fails to feel maudlin) is sympathetically told. The diverse range of characters - a motley crew of friends - all develop.
An easy listen for the summer

Beautifully Written

I didn't know where this story was headed at the beginning. However, as it continued it drew me in. The words and narration brought everyone vividly to life. I loved it. Hard to put down.
