Publisher's Summary
Perfect for fans of Me Before You and One Day, this heart-breaking story of love, loss and life will have you questioning everything you thought you knew about destiny....
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Type-A Manhattan lawyer Dannie Kohan has been in possession of her meticulously crafted answer since she understood the question. On the day that she nails the most important job interview of her career and gets engaged to the perfect man, she's well on her way to fulfilling her life goals.
That night Dannie falls asleep only to wake up in a different apartment with a different ring on her finger and in the company of a very different man. The TV is on in the background and she can just make out the date. It's the same night - December 15th - but 2025, five years in the future.
It was just a dream, she tells herself when she wakes, but it felt so real....
Determined to ignore the odd experience, she files it away in the back of her mind.
That is, until four and a half years later, when Dannie turns down a street and there, standing on the corner, is the man from her dream....
In Five Years is a love story, brimming with joy and heartbreak. But it is definitely not the love story you're expecting.

Beautiful story and beautifully written
I was gripped from the start and loved the book the whole way through. So beautifully written, and easy listen, in-depth characters, perfectly narrated and a great ending!
Would definitely recommend!

Not what I expected
It was well written and performed. Though I saw where the story was going, the ending still surprised me a bit.
Also a tear jerker.

Don’t bother!
Awful? Can’t believe I wasted my time listening to this book. It had great reviews which was why I initially got the book... the accents really irritated me, the characters - didn’t really like any of them.

Completely different story to the summary
This was not a good book. The summary of this story was a completely different story I listened to. I hated to way Dani and Erin got together. Dani constantly spoke about how much she loves her best friend but she betrays her friend and she doesn't even see what she did was wrong. I wish I could refund this book. What a waste.

Really not my thing
The synopsis is what grabbed me, but the story was not what I’d hoped at all.
If you like chick-lit, go for it.
Otherwise, give it a miss.

better in print version
This is a beautiful story but I could not get along with the audible version due to American accent. I switched to kindle and found that I could not put it down until I had finished it. Beautiful story of friendship and loss.

Tough love true friendship
It takes a true friend to open your eyes even if you do not want to see the truth. I enjoyed a holiday weekend reading this book in the garden.

Wonderful and devastating
Moments of poetic lyricism and an unpredictable story.
The beginning hooked me with interesting ideas. I enjoyed the pace, and also that the predictive I made didn't come through, but I was consistently pleasantly surprised.
Moments made me cry, and felt real and heartbreaking.
I adored this novel.

Good but not remarkable
Cleaning my library I found this book. I remember that I enjoyed it and that it was it was nice and easy to listen to, however, this was only a couple of months back and I can't remember the storyline; which bring me to the conclusion that it was not remarkable, just a nice easy read.

This story touched me deeply. Grab the tissues.
Beautifully written, without too much mental reflection, it moved fast.
Looking forward, looking back and a lesson to be learned about seeing truth of things.
A story about falling inlove - real love doesn't have rules or a clock. It can be right in front of you or missing altogether.
I started crying halfway through when I realised the twist in the love story. This kind of love skipped me in my 61 years, but I'll be paying more attention from now on. Thankyou.
Beautiful narration.

great narrator, storyline was good
I enjoyed this one, but it wasn't that thought-provoking. The most intriguing part was probably within the first 20 minutes. Still a solid listen which broke my heart at some points but the ending was not what I expected.

Not a Romance
If you are looking for something sweet and cute to relax into...skip this read.
It dealt more with the slow dying of a gorgeous character, which could have been better achieved in an other genre.
Plus - I truly don’t know what the romance was?
