Publisher's Summary

My name is Dove Hendry.

Mine is Kingston Axton.

I was captured by darkness.

She has always been ours....

They groomed me for Midnight Mayhem. Like a trained possession, weak against their control.

She has been conditioned with our blood for years. She just doesn’t know it yet....

But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture.

A culture that she is about to become the center of.

The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts.

Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason....

Mind-tricks.

Stunts.

Deceit.

Power.

But there’s something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I’d hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my monster that tormented me.

And maybe lived under your bed....

When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded.

His whispers were silenced.

His shadow dissolving without a trace.

I wondered why that was.

She didn’t have to wonder for long....

A dark romantic suspense!

What first drew me to this book was the absurd cover art. And I'm so glad I judged a book by it's cover this time round.

This is the first book in Midnight Mayhem series and I'm looking forward to listening to whatever follows

The storyline was dark, intense and compelling.

In a nutshell this was sinfully addictive.

In Peace Lies Havoc

In Peace Lies Havoc is the first book in the Midnight Mayhem series. This book is told from dual points of view by Dove and King.

When Dove is taken off the street she is basically told she has to perform at Midnight Mayhem. It's kind of like a circus, but more adult-based. She has grown up as a ballet dancer and is a new dancer for the show.

As she gets to know the guys', King always shows up. We find out he is tasked to keep watch for her, for something from the past. However, Dove can't remember anything from her past. But she keeps having flashbacks.

As the book goes on Dove's flashbacks keep bringing more snippets from her past back. Can Dove find out what King is hiding from the past? Can King forgive Dove and vice versa when they find out the truth? Will they get their happy ending?

I really loved this book and getting to know these characters. I can't wait for some of the side characters' books as well.

Completely WORTH the buy !

This series is very interesting and a great change in the status quo of the genre. The character development painted vivid pictures and triggered my mind in a way that made me want a actual tv. show of this series not movie but a binge worthy show... Even Better in Audio!!!

Amo Jones has created characters with depth and complexity. The story delves deep into the taboo world of Midnight Mayhem where the acts are deliciously sinful, and the performers own the stages in which they perform.

What I love about this story is that each character lends importance to the story. They each bring something unique to add intrigue to the storyline. I found myself vested in each character.

The Brothers of Kiznitch are pure sinful perfection!!! Comprised of the 4 K’s (Kingston, Killian, Keaton and Kyrin) they are depraved and mysterious. They’ll entrance you and hold you hostage throughout the story.

Dove Hendry our heroine is spirited and strong! Having endured much tragedy in her life, she’s a bit mysterious, even to herself. It’s interesting to watch her story unfold and discover secrets that even surprise her.

Her and Kingston’s chemistry is off the charts!!!

Overall, this story is just pure perfection and I cannot recommend it enough!!

Narration was enjoyable. This audio features dual narration. Pacing of narration was good.

Just wow!

I just finished this audiobook and I am sitting here just blown away. This story was dark and crazy with so many twists and turns, I was on the edge of my seat. The world of Midnight Mayhem is hot, dark, dirty and full of deception and magic. This world will pull you in and you’ll never want to leave. Amo Jones has one wild and crazy mind and I am loving it. The writing is exceptional, the narration brings the story to life and I loved both voices. I highly recommend this book!!

In Peace Lies Havoc

This is the first book in Midnight Mayhem series. This book is crazy! I loved it! This book is about King’s family the Romanian Mafia. The Midnight Mayhem is not your average circus. It is what your nightmares are made of. I loved how Dove was actually tied in to the head families. Can’t wait for the next book. Maeve York and Rip Devons did a great job narrating this book.

Entertaining but Confusing

I spent the first 65% of this book in a daze. I didn't understand why half the things were happening, I couldn't connect with the MC because she barely reacted to her situation. The love interest seemed attractive, but lacked any kind of personality. I somehow liked everyone except the main characters. I was constantly replaying parts because I got so lost with who did what and still felt I got zero information until the end. I feel like this could have been better and a bit more understandable if an editor had been involved.

I Can't Wait For Book Two

This audiobook left me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I had to just sit back and let Ms. York and Mr. Devons do what they do best. Our author knows how to suck her readers in to her stories and leave them craving for more. The narrators bring everything to life where as a reader I can’t do that.

It's not a story that you can figure out. The only thing we can do is sit there and watch this play out. That's easy to do when you have two people that are perfect for this tale. This is a dark and twisted tale that if you're not paying attention, you may feel as if you are there with the characters. Depending on which character you lean towards, you may not understand what is coming next. If this were a film, just like the cover, I could see this being in black and white. It would just add that little extra.

The author has created something that is like nothing you'll have experienced before. But if you like psychological thrillers then this may be something you will enjoy. I wouldn't say it's romantic but it is very suspenseful. There is some physical stuff going on but it’s the dark edges of this tale that left me speechless and begging for more. Now that the characters, our narrators, and the author all have their claws in me; I don't know that I would be able to sit and read this book/series and feel a part of the Midnight Mayhem world. I wanted to delve right in to the second book but sadly it's not out in audio yet.

I'll try and be patient, for a little while, but I want to continue this Mayhem ride without having to wait, so getting the book may have to do. I can't even add it to a wish list - here tapping my foot. That's one reason why I love reading this author's work - she always gives me the unexpected. I feel like I'm in an adult version of the Twilight Zone and I want to know what’s going to happen in the next part of the series.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Expect the unexpected in this unique, wonderful, dark story.

Dove Hendry lived on the edge. A gifted dancer, she’s a stripper by profession. Her past is tragic and complicated and she does what she needs to survive.

One night, she’s kidnapped and forced into the world of Midnight Mayhem, an adult show with dark themes and extreme stunts. Kingston Axton is one of four “brothers,” men who have grown up in the mixed world of their crime family and Midnight Mayhem.

But Dove’s memories have been altered and wiped, because there’s a little bit of magic here too and she begins to unravel how connected she has been to this world from the very beginning.

Kingston is hiding secrets, but there are things he doesn’t know either. His initial hatred of Dove shifts as they work closely together and he begins to learn the truth of their pasts.

Very well done story- intriguing, twisted and completely unexpected.

Blown Away!!!!

Amo Jones is one talented author who doesn't pull punches, weaving a fascinating, twisted, stunning tale with captivating characters. In Peace Lies Havoc simply blew me away. The character development is sophisticated, and the plot is elaborate, intense, exciting, deliciously dark and twisted, wrapped in passion and sensuality. I'm already so hooked on the Midnight Mayhem series, and I have no idea how I'll manage to wait until the second audiobook is released. It's going to be pure torture.

The narration is spot-on! Maeve York and Rip Devons performed outstandingly. They honed in the characters, capturing and emulating the nuances of personalities, complicated emotions, and intense connections. Overall, the In Peace Lies Havoc is a phenomenal start to the Midnight Mayhem series. The storyline is addictive, dark, and gritty with quality narration. A thoroughly satisfying listen, one I'll highly recommend.

Twisted Circus

This story was a ride. Whenever I thought I knew what was coming next, things would twist and change. I didn’t like that Dove really didn’t seem to question anything or react in any way I felt was relatable. She didn’t feel the emotions I felt she should have.
I love the circus setting and aesthetics of the book overall.

All in all, I wish there was more emotion but I am curious to see what happens next in the series.

Both narrators, I believe, are new to me. I really liked them both and thought they worked well for the characters and story.

Hear at your own risk

I can honestly say this is a top must-read book, Amo has taken her writing to a top new level, Kingston and Dove's story is to rival her previous books. This was one ride I didn't want to end, it took me to places I never thought possible and grabbed me until it ended. Everything turned, twisted, and simply had my mind blown. A perfect dark romance, with a great unique plotline, and characters you will love and I just can't wait for more. Maeve York and Rip Devons nailed this one. Outstanding 5 stars!

My Thoughts on In Peace Lies Havoc

4.5 of 5 stars
This story was a major mind trip. I barely know how to put my thoughts into words. I thought I knew what was going on one moment, and then the next everything would change, and nothing was what I thought. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the type of book you find hard to put down because you just don’t know what’s going to happen and you don’t want to stop incase the next twist is even crazier than the last. While there was a moment or two that were a bit on the uncomfortable side, I was very satisfied with the overall story. And I look forward to checking out more in the series. Both narrators were new to me, but I found myself enjoying both of their performances. I wouldn’t mind hearing more from either of them in future.

Loved this audio!

I loved the book and this audio brings an extra dimension to the story and the characters. This is an intense story, set in an alternative, dysfunctional world in which norms are scoffed at...and I love it. Dove is aptly named, but strength and resilience us there, and she starts to unfold it her sides to the abrasive, stubborn, often cruel, King..and it's so much fun watching it happen. Both Rip Devons and Maeve York breathe life into both the characters and the narrative. Their story telling skills are excellent! 💖💖💖💖💖

Good Listen

Can I say I love me some Amo Jones. If you think you know what will happen, boom she flips the script. Dove life has been hell and she can not remember why and King has always been the one to be there in all her hell even if she does not know it. She is kidnapped and forced to live another life but keeps getting flashbacks and can not stay away from King and his many different moods towards her. When the truth is revealed, all hell breaks loose, can King reveal his true feeling or is he ready to let Dove go.

Dark and Mysterious

I enjoyed this, it was pretty dark, with plenty of mystery.
Both narrators did a good job but I thought Kings narrator sounded a bit old.
