Story
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Three great offshoots of In Times Like These
These are three different, but related, novellas that branch off from the original In Times Like These books. Each book contains something or someone that links it to the original series, but goes in a very different direction. These three books aren't related to each other, and each could be the beginning of its own offshoot series. In fact, I hope that happens.
Time of Death is a hard-boiled noir romp. Agent of Time has an admirable investigator with a real a-hole of a boss - he didn't get his comeuppance in this one, but I'd love to see that happen in a subsequent book (hint). Clockwise & Gone is the shortest, and the one I liked best. It went deeper into the characters and their motivations, and had both chilling and touching moments.
My only nitpick is the narrator of Agent of Time. At times, she runs words together, then seems to remember her "narration training" and enunciates the ends of words so hard that it almost sounds like a stutter. It did interfere with my enjoyment of the book, which is why I knocked overall Performance down a star. The other two narrators were great.
I'm looking forward to more, and more, and more from Nathan Van Coops. Keep it coming!

Very pleased to find a option to get all 3!
I have really enjoyed the In Times Like these series but I am not fond of using a credit on a short story. By combining these three its really well worth a credit as Agent of Time and Time of Death area a bit bigger though still fairly small books at around 4 hours each. Agent of Time: This is an excellent continuation of the In Times like these story line and I could not be more pleased to be able to keep reading more stories in this universe. If you have not read any of these go back to the first book and start from there. I will warn that it takes a bit of time in the very first book to get moving but once it does its quite a ride and you will want more, this is a great addition to that story line. Clockwise & Gone: Set in universe but with different characters, its a short story only 2 hours but its a very entertaining peek into this universe from new characters perspectives. Time of Death: Hopefully a start to a new series set in the In Times Like These universe, its a character we have not yet met but he is related to a character from the first set of books. Its a fast paced thrill ride and I really enjoyed it.

Now that’s a way to read a book!
I’ve only Listened to a few books like this before. I love Nathan’s collection so I was very excited to listen instead of reading for a change. This was a group of three of his books. The first one was done exceedingly well and the last one was done very well. I was not as impressed with the Middle book’s reading reader. The good thing is that Nathan‘s books are so well written that It doesn’t matter who reads them. :-) I will look forward to listening to more in the future.

Engaging, gripping, time-traveling mystery ride
Have loved it, Will love it, that's enjoyable time travel.
Engaging box set of standalone, gripping, fast paced fun time-traveling rides of mystery
Time of Death is an engaging, gripping, fast paced fun time-traveling ride of mystery with protagonist Greyson Travers, son of Ben and Mym Travers.
The Time Travel Detective Mystery boxset includes 3 standalones:
1. Time of Death
2. Agent of TIme
3. Clockwise & Gone
I grew up enthralled with edgy adventures from many writers like Robert Heinlein and Larry Niven. So with the "In Times Like These" series, I have loved the thrilling ride along with a well developed family of characters, being captivated by fun page turners while they discover time travel, accidentally fallen through it, and learning how and who, (and who not,) to get help from.
In full disclosure, I had joined the Facebook fan group. After buying "Time of Death" ebook and acquiring the same in audiobook boxset, but before enjoying them, I messaged the author, Nathan Van Coops, about the use of an audiobook, giving a sense of listening to old radio plays or black and white film noir as I, with my grandmother, born in the 1890s, had.
He coyly replied to me, well, that's time travel, which I better understood why, when in early chapters, the Private Detective Greyson speaks of Humphrey Bogart in "The Maltese Falcon" and the tenor of the writing takes on that flair.
As in noir films, things are not always as they seem, and dastardly villians may abound, as we navigate these thillers. The book "Time of Death: A Time Travel Detective Mystery", had a nastalgic feel of the weekly episodic movie serials.
As I told the author, the hardest thing is waiting for the next book to be written.

Trust Me, You Need This!
I love audiobooks and I love Nathan Van Coops' work. Put the two together along with 3 amazing performers and you get this wonderful work of art. I had read 2 of the stories before listening to these, but hearing the confusion of the characters out loud (rather than just in my head) followed by the dawning their of understanding adds a completely new dimension to the stories. You better believe that I will be getting all works by Nathan Van Coops in both digital print and audiobook. I strongly recommend you do the same.

Do not miss out on this!!
I’m a big fan of Mr Van Coops work. I’ve read the In Times Like These several times and am always excited for a new release. When I saw this audio book option I thought, “sure, why not, I’ve some credits to use and some driving to do.” I didn’t stop after driving. I’ll listen when I run or eat diner or whenever I can “make time” ;) - while I enjoy reading, this was a really entertaining listen. I’ll recommend it to all my friends. Get it! Now! Perfect travel companion
Just completed all three audiobooks and can honestly say they were the perfect companion for a long road trip and subsequent holiday. Getting the correct voice for any audiobook can, in my opinion, be a real make or break. Having already read the series I have a particular voice in my head for all the characters so I was a little apprehensive to be honest to undertake the audiobooks. However, I can honestly say Nathan has really picked the perfect narrators as all three did a fantastic job telling the stories and further increasing my enjoyment of the series.
While it’s hard to pick a favourite, I really enjoyed revisiting clockwise and gone again, like all of Nathan’s work which I dearly hope one day will make it to the silver screen, Clockwise and gone would make a fantastic short for any director out there wanting to get a feel for Nathan’s work, it also takes a very interesting spin on how time travel could be a used but not in the more obvious ways that most time travel stories take.
Whether you opt for the audiobooks or hard copies, you won’t be disappointed.

A trio of terrific tall tales
I listened to this set of three books straight through. Each had a different narrator which threw me as it changed to the next book. This fits though, each book is about a different maim character and the narrator fits the style to the character and to their tale.
Notes below are in the order read/listened to.
in times like these - book 1
This book has been on my top TBR pile for ages (not the 'top of' but in the top half dozen or so, the books I must read, that I can't get sidetracked from). At first I wasn't sure the narration fits with the type of story it is and wasn't what I expected but I really got pulled in very quickly. It's well read, well written and a fascinating concept. I thoroughly recommend it.
Agent of Time - book 1.5
I love a good cop novel, I could see this was building up for more in the future, can't wait.
Clockwise and gone -book 0.5
This was gripping and eerie and unnerving and disconcerting. Well read, consistent character voices, it completly pulled me in. I felt quite wobbly returning to the real world after
Overall completly fantastic!

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
For years, the ancient alien AI known as Skippy (the Magnificent, don’t forget that part) has been able to do one impossible thing after another. What is his secret? It’s simple: 100 percent Grade-A extreme awesomeness. And also because he had never been faced with an opponent of equal power. Until now. This time, he might need a little help from a band of filthy monkeys.

Story
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Story
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Story
The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.
