Publisher's Summary

When a guest dies in the B&B she helps her aunts run, a young witch must rely on some good old-fashioned investigating to clear her aunt's name in this magical and charming new cozy mystery.

For 400 years, the Warren witches have used their magic to quietly help the citizens of the sleepy New England town of Evenfall thrive. There's never been a problem they couldn't handle. But then Constance Graves - a local known for being argumentative and demanding - dies while staying at the bed and breakfast Brynn Warren maintains with her aunts. At first, it seems like an accident...but it soon becomes clear that there's something more sinister at work, and Aunt Nora is shaping up to be the prime suspect.

There's nothing Brynn wants more than to prove Nora's innocence, and it hurts her to know that even two years ago, that might have been easier. Brynn, after all, is a witch of the dead - a witch who can commune with ghosts. Ghosts never remember much about their deaths, but Constance might remember something about her life that would help crack the case. But Brynn hasn't used her powers since her husband died and isn't even sure she still can. Brynn will just have to hope that her aunts' magic and her own investigative skills will lead her to answers - and maybe back to the gift she once thought herself ready to give up forever.

Fantastic adventure!

If I could give this book 10 stars I would! It has a lot of heart and touches you to your soul! Beautifully written saga of a young witch heartbroken with grief and her Aunts her stand by her and are always there to help and slowly guide her through her grief. Of course there is a dead body. Terrific story and the mystery was great too! I’m ready for the next book!

Fun Cozy Mystery

I loved this book. The story was light and fun and very well crafted. A great cast of characters and a fun setting. It's a very light book about witches. These are just nice, normal people who have some "skills". And like all families they have an interesting story. Although I didn't guess the killer, I could have. And that is what I like in a mystery. The narration was wonderful. So many voices. I know its a good audio book when I get lost in the book and forget it is being read by someone else and not in my own head. I am going to search out more books by this author. She caught my mood just right, coming into the holiday season.

Mystery and magic

I was hooked on the characters of this book from the start. The story is well-crafted and highly entertaining with a succession of twists and turn.

The narrator’s witty style and slightly sarcastic edge pulled me into the story, holding me spellbound - no pun intended! With a colorful cast of characters each with their own distinctive voice, from Brynn’s quirky aunts to the neighbor across the street and the crow named Dog, this audiobook was a joy to listen to.

I liked that these witches weren’t the kind that practice sorcery, but regular people with some extraordinary abilities. Despite these qualities, they are highly relatable individuals, particularly Brynn, who has suffered the tragic loss of her husband and consequently, her powers, yet is determined to find the real killer to defend her aunt. It kept me guessing who the killer was until the very end. I highly recommend this audiobook.

GREAT NEW PARANORMAL COZY

The Warren's are such distinct personalities, and the story both well written and entertaining. I am hooked and have pre-ordered book 2.
