Audio Levels Vary Widely.

Often between Paragraphs. Sometimes within Sentences. Story wise you know what you're getting. Narrator always good. just the sound levels let it down, jolting the listener out of the experience.

Metric and Imperial

I hated hearing every measurement in imperial and metric. Bailed in chapter 8, It sucked

Great story but...

This is a great story but the recording is not the typical quality. The sound is the most noticeable when a part that was recorded at a different time is brought in. Sound is lower or clarity is different. I have never experienced this with a book of this caliber.

Good book...but sound issues

The sound is all jacked up. it continually cycles between quiet and loud throughout the entire book. Please fix!

Long, Excellent, Exciting

Totally enjoyed this book
It was really long but the plots were woven together seamlessly
I had recently went back through all the series that was available from Audible snd am really exited that the earlier books are being recorded and included

Great book, BAD audio quality

Another great Clive Cussler book... but the audio quality is horrible. it sounds like there's different readers, the volumes change, and some of the metrics are for the European market and Summer for the US market. it should be easy to fix this mess so it doesn't detract from the great story

Another winner! Cussler has outdone himself again.

Another wonderful Dirk Pitt Adventure. I don't know how Clive Cussler can be so creative and come up with such wonderful stories, but I'm grateful he does.

A great adventure

This is the second Clive Cussler novel I ever read. it is a great adventure that will keep you captivated. I have listened to Inca Gold two time and have read it three time. Scott Brick dose a masterful job of telling the story. I recommend it to anyone wanting a good story were good wins in the end.

Excitement at every turn. I love the detail given to new characters in this book and will listen to it at least two more times. Definitely a winner

Bad editing

As usual the story was good, and the narrator was as usual good, but for some reason it seemed like bits were edited in, because his voice would go from the normal pitch and volume, to a lower pitch and louder, just like that particular bit had been recorded at a different time and on different equipment and added in, which I found very annoying and off putting, because it didn’t fit in with with how he was reading it. To be honest it totally ruined it for me.

Of it's time, so don't buy unless you can cope

You have to except that when these were written it was a sexist, jingoistic world of stereotypes.

The story rolls along with the bravo we love. Good guys triumph, all be it with some struggle. Adventure in a tin

Sound quality is not consistent

Scott Brick does his usual solid delivery but whoever was in charge of recording did him and the book no favours.
The narration has been patched, badly. The levels are all over the place and stand out like a sore thumb. Really detracts from the listening pleasure.
All the other books prior to this in the Dirk Pitt series seem fine.

Shame about the Editing.

A good story, totally immersing.
Although the poor editing of the audio and adding verbal text as if other narrative was wrong, made for an irritating listen. As to the thought that anyone actually cares if it’s meters or feet. Just Choose one snd stick with it.
We don’t care.

Strange narration

Somtimes a different voice narrates parts, it's very perturbing and doesn't match the rest told.

Let down in the sound editing

There is a glaring difference in sound levels throughout the performance. Mostly it sounds normal - then in the middle of sentences the narrator is suddenly right behind you talking directly into your ear.

Not what I expected

I heard a lot of good things about this author. They were overstated.
This book is so sexist, you’d think women can’t do anything for themselves and need protecting at every turn. The main character was unbelievable - he was nearly bullet proof and probably should wear an ‘S’ on his singlet.

Great Story Annoying recording

The story is great but the audio is incredibly annoying! One moment it’s is normal then without warning it sounds like the narrator is yelling in your ear from a tin can! Sadly this happens frequently throughout the story.
It should be re-recorded
Very disappointed
