In Dimensions, Dr. Jacques Vallee reexamines the historical record that led to the modern UFO phenomenon and to the belief in alien contact. He then tackles the enigma of abduction reports, which come from various times and various countries, as well as the psychic and spiritual components of the contact experience. In the last portion of the book, he notes the factors that inhibit research into the phenomenon - the triple coverup and political motivations - and concludes that the extraterrestrial theory is simply not strange enough to explain the facts.

In a direct, authoritative challenge to researchers who believe the abduction phenomenon is essentially benevolent and spiritually uplifting, Professor David M. Not his Best Work

By: Timothy Good
Publisher's Summary
I'm a 64-year-old retired lawyer and former Assistant Attorney General with an unusual story to tell. Every word of it is true. It happened in a state park known as Devil's Den. For fear of losing my job and damaging my reputation in the legal community, I never spoke about the incident. If it hadn't happened to me, I'd be skeptical too.
In 1977, I was an active duty NCO in the USAF. A friend and I planned a two-night camping trip to explore the wilderness. Hoping to photograph eagles we sought a remote area on high ground. We drove deep into the forest until we came to a high plateau. It was the perfect location. We had forest to our back and a large open meadow in front of us. The view was amazing. We made camp and settled in for an evening around the campfire.
Late in the evening I noticed the forest sounds of crickets and tree frogs we'd heard just an hour earlier had all stopped. The silence unnerved me but my friend Toby assured me our laughter and chatter had quieted them and they'd soon return. I still felt unsettled. Looking to the west Toby asked, Where those lights there before? I turned to look. There on the horizon sat a perfect triangle of three very bright stars. We studied them for a few minutes and were speculating what they might be...when they suddenly moved. They rotated once as if on an axis and began a slow ascent into the night sky.
The three points of light remained equidistant to one another, gaining altitude and speed. The lights on each point of the triangle grew brighter too, as the triangle expanded. The area inside the triangle was solid black, much darker than the surrounding night sky. As it moved past stars they would blink out for a moment and then blink back on once it had passed. I recall the uneasiness I felt a half-hour earlier was gone. I asked my friend, Hey, Tobe...are you afraid? He didn't reply. This triangle was soon over our heads. I recall thinking that Toby had been wrong; the night sounds never returned....

Personal narration is relevant for this gem.
I have purchased a number of books on the subject of UFO’s and alien abduction over the last 30 years but this one is one of the best. I saw the reviews were high before I bought it and jumped in. I wasn’t disappointed.
The reviews of this book struggle under Performance as the author chose to narrate it himself. At first this choice seemed a poor one as the author does not have a smooth narrative voice, however once the story began to unfold it was clear that the story was very personal to him, and this made the revelations in the book more touching and frightening. Sharing this story with the author seemed very intimate once the book concluded and thus my 5 star rating.
This book is not a retelling of the same old abduction story. While some aspects are indeed commonalities of alien abduction, as I would expect from an actual lifelong abductee, there is a lot in this book that was new to me and may be to you as well. What is extraordinarily gripping is the author’s account of how the military handled his case. The author, an Air Force Veteran, lays out elements that are very disturbing, that only someone in the military could experience, yet tells stories that sheds light on the phenomena for all. I found this book to be very frightening and enlightening. I’m saddened that the most disturbing chapters of this book detailed how the military knows more than they say, and their utter lack of decency toward a fellow human.
As a discerning reader and often disappointed buyer, I would recommend this book to anyone on the planet. If UFO’s, Abduction and the military’s interest in the phenomena interest you, this man’s humble memoir is for you.

Amazing story and telling
While listening to this I felt I was sitting across from Terry while he told me his own story, in his own words. I was riveted and listened to the whole book in one sitting. I first heard Terry's story during his interview on the Astonishing Legends podcast, and then did some more research and discovered this book. If this topic is interesting to you, or if you have a feeling that you have some personal experiences of your own, you will thoroughly enjoy this book. I for one am so glad that a professional reader did not try to interpret this. I loved hearing the emotion in Terry's voice, and the organic, very real way he tells his own story. I trust and believe Terry all the more hearing him recount his experiences himself.

Good to the end
If you’re unsure wether there may be intelligent life in the cosmos, this book will help open your eyes to what happens to some people around the world. I’m not saying you have to believe the story, but I’m not sure why the author would make it up. Also, he has the proof that something has happened within his body to corroborate his story. Author is the narrator but it’s a pleasant tone and I was able to listen easily to the whole story. Very good book, information, and narration. Check it out.

Ah! Narrated by Author... beware of 'mouth sounds'
Good story. Gets better as the book goes on and quite informative. The decision to narrate own book on the other hand... this is the time to 'call a friend'. I listened at 1.25 speed to make narration passable. Once in a while the dry mouth sounds would make me cringe and I had to make myself focus on something else. Still worth listening to - just a fair warning :)

Disturbingly Believable
After my somewhat ambivalent reception of Timothy Good's Earth: An Alien Enterprise, I had a look at-the list of other books recommended to me and thought Incident at Devil's Den looked interesting. Looking at the very positive reviews, I decided to purchase it using one of my credits and I have to say that I found this book hard to put down.
Now, the whole alien abduction story is one I am familiar with, having read numerous accounts from many people over the years. however, this personal telling of this story from Terry Lovelace, imbues this subject matter with a chilling sense of reality I've not encountered thus far. His telling of his story, actually narrating himself, lends real credibility to this field of study in a way I've not come across before.
No, Terry's narration isn't slick, like a professional narrators would be and there are several misread words and some unremoved retakes. However, this also adds to the sense of grass roots realism here. His telling is honest and the lack of polish to the presentation only adds to the authenticity of his account in my view.
If the story he has to tell is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, then there is disturbing things going on and have been doing so for decades.
If you do not believe in such things, then I'd recommend you listen to this book and see if you reevaluate your beliefs. If not, then as one reviewer put it, it's a ripping yarn if nothing else.
I found Incident at Devil's Den compelling, gripping and believably honest. Either Terry Lovelace is a superb liar, or there is cause to be concerned. You decide.

Extremely compelling.
I will eat my hat if this isn't true. I think it demonstrates as with so many other abduction experiences how little we know about how things really work, the relationships between gravity, time, light and dimensions will one day become clear, humankind will look back on these times as archaic and savage. Terry has done an excellent job at writing and narrating this book.

Trustworthy and moving
This is probably the best retelling of an alien abduction story I have ever heard. Terry's writing was fantastic and I was absolutely captivated. It felt so alive.
And the fact that Terry narrated the book himself also made it very trustworthy and moving.
I think these kind of stories are very important. And I think it's important that someone dares to share them with the public.

Enjoyable listen
I suspect Terry is spinning us quite the Wooly yarn here but it’s good fun and a nice diversion from the more earthly concerns at the moment.

Attention!
Do not listen if you are side tracked. It deserves your attention. Great if you've never been believed as a child , even gets you wound at his childhood Dr!! You'll be on his side by this point! He's a very fair adult so he seems balanced . Especially sisters discussing his changes after experience. The details of aliens are cluelike when scared! eg mannequin etc. however I love it.

Fascinating story
I am not 100% sure if I believe the story or not, but I found it fascinating none the less.
The book is narrated by the author, who may not have the most "ideal" voice for narration, however I think it worked well as it made it feel more personal and I found it pleasant to listen to, knowing he was speaking from his own experience. A few small gripes with some mouth sounds or a few times where he restarted a sentence, but really it was fine as I'm not too picky.

More than expected!
I assumed this book to be solely about 1 particular event. I was pleasantly surprised when I found it to cover a lifetime of experiences from his childhood as well as later on while serving in the military.
