Publisher's Summary

The day he said he'd never love me is when I vowed Quinn Miller would never break my heart again.

I wanted a family - but he wouldn't give me that. As one of the top embryologists in the country, I've spent years creating babies in the lab for other people as my own dreams of motherhood fade.

I'm done waiting. I decide to start the journey to parenthood alone.

Then Quinn strolls back into my life, with all the finesse of a hurricane. I'm a fool to think I don't want him anymore, and one reckless night of passion ends with me pregnant by the man I swore I'd never love again.

Now he doesn't just want my heart, he wants it all. The baby. Love. A life where we're happy.

But even as he promises me the future I always desired, I can't help but fear that something will rip him away from me again.

This time...indefinitely.

Ashton is not a problem, it's me....

First, let me say I have read and LOVED every book Corinne has written.
Now for this book.
I reread the book because initially I was very angry with Ashton. For the life of me, I don't know why. I even noted instances where she irritated me. Now I'm mad at myself for being so upset with her.
I think Quinn is definitely one of my favorites in the Salvation Series. His transformation throughout the story to become a better man for himself and Ashton is very endearing.

Now that I've reread the book, I did dislike her refusal to allow Quinn ( who has resigned the SEALS) any privacy in his new job . Butting out would have been the best idea.
Otherwise, the story and narration are terrific!
I've revised my first review dramatically. Don't know why I was so angry with Ashton and I apologize to Corinne Michaels for my initial review. Maybe I was confused with another book?
So sorry...

Both characters were awful

Quinn was an ass. Ashton was a whiny ass. I could not listen to her be unable to resist Quinn over and over. “I hate him”, “I can’t resist him”. “I am disrespectful of my parents.”, “Oh no, I can’t say no to my parents.”

Soooo painful to listen to. I was mostly angry the whole time I listened. Stopped after 2 hours, read more reviews and decided I would never put myself through the rest of the story.

Narrators were AWESOME and I was sad to be unable to listen to the remainder of their awesome work.

Female character is horrible

I don’t think I have ever disliked a heroine more. She basically attacked this guy to make the male lead “protect” her. Just terrible. The narrators were great.

I love Ashton and Quinn

Talk about a whirlwind of emotions. Corinne Michaels has outdone herself with this book. not only did she bring us back to the incredible world she created in her Salvation series, but she completely captivated my interest and heart in this new addition to the series. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to throat punch some of the characters to make them get their act together, but in the end, I was hanging on to every word Corinne wrote to find out what happened next. I seriously waited to experience this book because I knew it was part of a duet.

Boy oh boy, was I glad I waited. I immediately dove right into the second book in this Duet, to find out what happened next.

Though this book is part of a series, it can certainly be read on its own - though you will likely be dying for the conclusion as I have. I absolutely adored Quinn and Ashton. I love the bond and experiences they share together. Couple that with the memorable characters from the Salvation series and I swear, I never wanted it to end.

PS - Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke are phenomenal at narrating this story. I absolutely love them paired together as they bring Corinne's world to life.

Could not finish

I hate it when women are manipulative and they aren't held accountable. Could not finish after that particular scene.

Brilliant

Corinne Michaels is Brilliant! She writes the most compelling stories and this one is no different.

I absolutely loved the last chapter. I am onto book 2!

The narration was also wonderful. You can never go wrong with Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke.

Finally Ashton’s story from the Salvation series

Ashton was one of my favorite characters from the Larger series so I was excited to see her story out. Unfortunately this is another example of an unnecessary cliffhanger where part 1 and 2 are separate books. As a reader I hate the concept. These books are overly long and repetitive and would be so much better if they were edited properly to one tight book with 2 parts. This one is no exception with excess dialog that only frustrates the reader. Quinn starts out as a selfish jerk but his character develops due to tragedy. Ashton alternates between whiney and demanding in this book but we can see that both she and Quinn will pay with looming heartbreak. The dramatic cliffhanger is confusing in terms of Quinn’s character though it is obvious who his main kidnapper is but not what is causing his pain.
Narration is excellent and done by pros.

Ending

Omg! Corinne has never disappointed with any of her books, but lord have mercy on me and every other reader! This ending had me in tears like serious tears running down my face. I’ve like probably most woman have had miscarriages and you never get over it. I wish so much for their happy ending but just fear there won’t be.. looking forward to the next book but at the same time just don’t know if I can handle the sadness that will come next.

Horrible Characters

Couldn't feel for the pathetic nasty main character. She is a horrible people and I couldn't enjoy it. I wasn't rooting for a happy ever after. I was hoping she would get left by everyone becuase she was so toxic. Couldn't finish it.

Found it hard to keep listening

“I think the lady doth protest too much!”
Loud, self righteous, only interested in what she wants.
If you love someone, you are not out to change them.
Ashton expected Quin to give up his career, to be with her.
What did she give up?
The more I listened the harder it was for me to show any empathy for her.
I kept thinking Quin should run and never come back.

I tried the second book, but couldn’t read enough to be able to write a review.
It was torture.
