Funny and witty...

I loved to discover new authors, and Kevin Mac was a nice surprise. This hilarious story about a server in the Hollywood Hills Hotel that broke down and had a lot of funny and witty adventures in a weekend changing his life is simply amazing. All the struggle, the stress and the banter of Jon's character got better because the acting voice of Mr Machado, who masterly managed the performance. Loved it! I can't wait for more!

Very Believable

Jon Timmins works as a server at a famous restaurant at Hollywood Hills Hotel and has to deal with surly starlets, hot-headed hunks, and demanding divas. During award weekend, the misbehavior reaches a fever pitch and Jon finally snaps and he has a plan to get out of hotel purgatory. And it's going to make for one hell of a weekend at work and in his personal life. This was a short audiobook and held my interest because when I was very young I was a waitress one summer and had to deal with people like this but they were not famous but difficult at time and could identify with the story.

I was nice story.

I got this audiobook from the author for review.
First book that I have read from this author. The story line interesting, but could do without the constant nagging from the main character, we see his struggle every day and nothing got done until the last word. I liked the book as it showed their growing live, this audiobook is narrated
in the male point of view and was good.

Surprise ending

John is a waiter at a hotel for the rich and famous. Stars and divas treat the wait staff like crap, and the hotel itself takes advantage of its employees by overworking them and not paying benefits. He dreams of a better life for him and his wife.
The hotel has a policy that staff is not allowed to speak with paparazzi. Otherwise, the famous clientele would not feel comfortable using the hotel as a safe haven to let it all hang loose. When he catches a movie star doing something scandalous, he makes a plan to get himself to a comfortable life.

The story reads sort of like a humorous memoir and portrays the life of a fancy hotel server well. In fact, he portrays the life of anyone in customer service well. The story has a surprise ending as he struggles with right vs. wrong.

I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Interesting perspective

Kevin Mac created an entertaining story with this one. It is not my typical read so if was refreshing. Jon is funny, burnt out and looking for his leg up. I enjoyed this novel for it's candor and the realistic depiction of the life of hotel service staff. The relationships, competition and camaraderie among the employees was engaging. I was surprised at the conclusion of the story. Kudos to Jeff Machado for his flawless narration.

Dreams

The day to day life of a waiter in the food service of a 5-star Hollywood hotel. Stuck between elitist customers, poor tippers, and crappy management, dreaming of a better way. I was gifted this from the author.

Hollywood waiter put to the loyalty test

This is a entertaining tale about a restaurant waiter, Jon Timmins at the Hollywood Hills Hotel; serving the upper echelon of celebrities at the 5-star restaurant & hotel - seeing and keeping all their dirty secrets. HHH prides itself on privacy and discretion. Not only is his job excruciatingly stressful, his time is often taken advantage of - working 40-50+ hour weeks and still being classified as part time. WTF! This isn't even a side gig like it is for most at HHH that are just waiting to get their big break in the acting industry; he's a professional waiter. catering to celebs every single whim, and Jon isn't just doing it while he waits to hit it big in the acting industry. He's a professional waiter, and until an interaction with one of the big stars goes horribly wrong, it's been enough. Now, all bets are off.

I enjoyed this book's story and Jon's personal struggle between right and wrong. Hearing his emotions careen all over the place was a wild ride. His juggling back and forth from loyalty and vindictiveness is written very well. I was a little sad that the epilogue was so short - that's how invested I was in Jon's journey! I think a book 2 would work with his new adventures.

The narrator, Jeff Machado, is perfectly expressive, and his subtle accents for different characters were realistic. Jeff was a really good choice for this book.
