Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables. My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit". Flash forward five years and between tenses. President West is in office. Power has shifted. And Space Force is defunded. With just a handful of us still living on base, we find ourselves being evicted. My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN A MAN DIE IN ONE DAY?
- By Jim "The Impatient" on 10-15-16
By: Jeremy Robinson, and others
Publisher's Summary
Infinite2 is a bold continuation of Robinson’s best-selling science fiction novel, packed with mystery, action, and mind-bending twists.
Over a million books sold!
William Chanokh is immortal...and he’s trapped on the Galahad, an interstellar starship on a never-ending journey through open space.
His only companions are Capria - mortal and in cryo-sleep - and Gal, an artificial intelligence, and the love of his life, with whom he spends every waking moment in the "Great Escape", a virtual paradise. After untold years living countless lives, Gal begins acting strange. Possessive. Violent. Paranoid.
Positive that something in the real world is causing her to malfunction, Will attempts to leave the Great Escape, but he finds himself a prisoner. Guided by a voice from reality, he is thrust into a series of torturous narratives, each one designed to break his will and keep him trapped in virtual reality.
Betrayed by his digital love, his long-term memory overwritten, and enduring violent manipulation, Will painfully peels back layers of simulation, fighting to reach reality 1.0 - where the nightmares are real.
Maybe.
New York Times and number-one Audible best-selling author Jeremy Robinson takes listeners on a heart-wrenching journey to the edge of the universe and beyond, where distinguishing reality from simulation might be impossible.

Wanted to love it, but. . .
I relistened to Infinite immediately before tackling this sequel. It had been awhile since I first read it, so I wanted the entire story to be fresh in my mind. Then I started Infinite 2. The first 20 chapters or so were like wading through a swap. Not pleasant. The story was repetitive and sucked. Then things started to get better. I liked the middle part. But the third act was just bam bam bam. Never ending strife. I was glad it ended. Jeremy Robinson set it up at the end for an Infinite 3. I’ll likely pass.
RC Bray was good. This is his kind of book. But even Bray couldn’t push this one into the good column for me. I’d like to see Bray take on some different kinds of stories. He’s kind of in a rut. (Sorry, Bob.)

Mind Bending Reality Roller Coaster
I was a huge fan of the first Infinite and have been really looking forward to the sequel.
The story continues on from the end of book 1 but also from the end of NPC and Exo Hunter. In fact Infinite 2 is an endless tribute to the many incredible worlds that Jeremy Robinson has created. So many of his characters are referenced, its a roller coaster of shock and awe.
The use of Torment (another Robinson/Bray collaboration) in the narrative kind of freaked me out. That book is unreal and still gives me nightmares (“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry” *shudders*)
What is REAL, what is a simulation. You will question everything.
RC Bray is incredible and his outtakes at the end are hysterical

Repetative tension device, awkward "love" story
What I hoped for with this book: some sort of space travel saga, maybe some crazy conflicts to work out, world building, etc. Having an immortal character on a generational ship (best done in the book Dark Beyond the Stars). The book starts out with something incredibly annoying in an audiobook, a scenario where a virtual reality keeps "reloading" so the narrator has to read through lines of code - again and again and again. Seriously, authors, don't do that. Please.
The main character is stuck in a virtual reality with the AI he created, and a few other female constructs... one literally called Cherry Bomb. Throughout the book he will comment on regretting making CB so over the top seductive/exaggerated body shape, or appeal to the reader over and over that his "perfect woman" he made out of an AI is really, truly, this super awesome chick that's TOTALLY NORMAL FOR HIM TO BE IN LOVE WITH because she's real! and has feelings! and is sentient! that is down for 3somes and NO ITS NOT WEIRD SHE'S SENTIENT and oh for the love of bob.
His immortality is not a useful feature in space travel; it is an excuse to create the perfect woman so he's not forever alone.
It just got lame. The author is desperate to explain to us that this guy sleeping with a virtual "Real Doll" because hey, as an immortal and the only other crew member was part of the first book's betrayal (and as he let's us know, she's aging and put on weight, oh no! things real humans do! back to the over-sexualized AI, STAT!) The weird physics cause issues and the virtual reality just plays really weird scenarios over and over. The most reoccurring, a hellscape where everyone apologizes for being a zombie but incapable of not eating you. over and over. I wanted a book about space and instead found a sludge of self indulgent fantasy and discordant short stories of increasingly teen creative writing caliber.
The book starts to look promising when we find out the Main Character is not "alone" on the ship, and there's some drama to find out about this crewmember. But it's literally a 2 dimensional love triangle betrayal that they shrug off in a page or two, and then return to the dumbest story line.... the ship is entering a crazy edge of the universe where physics is breaking down and it becomes a weird sort of lovecraft-esq where fantasty VR world keeps bleeding onto the ship, so they're chased by dinosaurs or zombies.... It's a mess.
It doesn't help that the format just keeps repeating. I'm 2 hours from the end, and I just can't. I no longer care.

Absolutely brilliant!
I can still remember the first time I listened to Infinite. The book blew my mind. It had so many twists and turns, and even weeks after finishing it I would find myself thinking back on that adventure. I will say I never honestly expected there to be a sequel. I am so glad to be wrong. Infinite2 is absolutely brilliant and practically a love letter to sci-fi fans in general and Robinson fans in particular. While there is no doubt that the book can be enjoyed merely for what it is, an excellent adventure, if you happen to be a fan of much of Jeremy's other work, it becomes even better. No spoilers, but I must say Jeremy's references to some of his other works adds an absolutely delightful extra layer of awesomeness to the story, and the Easter egg references to other sci-fi works ranging from Predator to Aliens to Starship Troopers just to name a few, thrilled my inner geek and had me smiling the entire time. Infinite2 is a wildly imaginative, smart, thrilling, mind bending adventure and I couldn't stop listening. Yep, once I started listening, I didn't stop until the ride was over. The book is narrated by the incredibly talented RC Bray who does a fantastic job of breathing life into Jeremy's words, and I absolutely loved that he included some of his bloopers at the end.

It was okay
I don’t remember a lot about the first book. I listened to it not long after it released and enjoyed it. Overall I’m a fan of books about uncovering the simulation characters live in and both books in the series are no exception. I just wasn’t as riveted by the second book.
SPOILR ALERT! I think that’s because all punches were pulled, basically. The author kept using the same tension-devices with the same major characters over and over again too. It got really old. I look forward to more books from the author but they need to change their game up.

As good as the first...but different
I assume you read the first book. While this picks up where that left off, it is (as explained by the author at the end) intentionally different. But it is just a unique and mind-bending as the first. There are a lot of great new science fiction authors now--but how many will be the great ones of this generation? This is one. Also the narration is absolutely fantastic.

just terrible,
If anyone has found ready player one to be tedious and tiresome, like an overindulgent fanboy fest without restraint... this is the same. the author does this for his other mystery and sci-fi stories, bringing them all together in a self-indulgent way that makes nothing matter. I simply didn't care about any of the scenes as they changed from references to previous book, one to the next. I almost universally love this author's books, but this was horrible.

Don't waste your time
The only thing good about this book is R.C. Bray, I love hearing him narrate. Infinite was a fun book with some twists that had cliffhangers and such. Infinite 2 is seriously just over and over wishing this book would finally end. There is really no coherent storyline, yeah there were fun little nostalgic jaunts in there, but when you seriously want the book to just end, that is bad. I know you are saying, just stop listening, it lets you get to about halfway in before it goes full acid trip on you and than you have so much time already invested in it, you have to finish , that is this book. If you liked Infinite, just leave it at that, let them have their happily ever after in your head and don't ruin it forever.

firstly I have to tell you, I was NAMECHECKED in this book.. I didn't know I would be so imagine my shock when I heard my name, which is a distinct name being read out by Mr Bray.
I can't begin to tell you how much I loved this sequel. I know Jeremy didn't plan on writing one, but my gosh I'm glad he did.
I won't ruin the plot or story line for anyone, but it's the sequel we didn't know we needed.
Bray is as always exceptional, the outtakes are hilarious.

Just couldn’t bring myself to finish it
I have enjoyed several of the authors book and was hoping for the same here. The first book started brilliantly but went downhill from there. The second I still have a chance hoping for some more real world action but didn’t get much. Slight spoilers ahead…….
The book is basically a chance for the author to let loose anything and everything in his amazing mind but without needing to link it together into a coherent story. The plot holes and cosmically wide and the science in atomically thin. But my biggest problem was that there was no tension. In the end the main character can basically do ANYTHING. There’s no danger and I didn’t care what happened from situation to situation as it was all pretty ludicrous.
I will deffo read another book by the author as he has a great imagination. But these two were not the best. I gave up with 1.5 hours to go because life is too short.

A solid follow up.
While I did find the book a bit slow and repetitive at the start, and personally found the callbacks to Robinson's got a bit too carried away (although I'm sure lots of fans loved it, and that's awesome) the book pays off big. The original was phenomenal and a tough act to follow, and while it may not have hit the same highs, it is a great read all in.

I was not dissapointed
The original Infinite well and truly got me hooked on Jeremy Robinsons work, Ive literally spent the last 6 months listening to his back catalog and a few months back when I heard the rumbling of Infinite 2 on the horizon I was well and truly hyped. This book honestly surprised me, the direction the story takes as a direct sequel well and truly subverted my expectations. bringing into context a lot of Jeremys other work under a shared universe umbrella that I just didn't see coming. It felt very rewarding to listen to this book and understand most of the references, and the ones I didn't get made me want to read more of his work. This story left me with with the same feeling the original did hungry for more!
The bottom line, Infinite 2 feels like Jeremy Robinsons greatest hits and I love it!

Almost just as good as the first one
The sequel was everything I expected it to be, and more.
To be honest, there is a lot of confusing, sci-fi stuff in it, more than in the first one. Concepts that I didn't even try to wrap my head around. But it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story!
I loved how he kept jumping through the different scenarios and how it all came together in the end. Even until the end, I kept wondering if he had really gotten out of the simulation. It was a great great read and the narration only added to it.
I definitely have a new favourite author from this one.

Bland compared with the first book
The story is simply nowhere near as good as the first book.
Narration is still great, but overall the experience is bland when compared with its predecessor.

Ever woken from a dream only to realise your still dreaming!
What kind of mind can produce such dark fiction (at least I hope it is fiction). Truly love the books Jeremy produces they send you to places you could not possibly imagine. I love the the references to his other stories he has made a new world order which is as exciting as it frightening. Thank you Mr Robinson for the hours of pleasure I get from your works.

Jimmy Robinson featuring R.C. Bray
Not to detract from a compelling and adventurous storyline, you cannot embark on an epic of this magnitude without a narrator that provides a visceral construct to the characters and scenes.
I have returned audiobooks in the past based on the narration of some authors but I now find myself purchasing audio books based on the narrator.
R.C. Bray provides again and again the turmoil and seemingly insurmountable situations our antagonist finds himself in.
Do yourself a favour. Spend the credit, or the money. Jeremy Robinson kicks it out of the grounds yet again and leaves you guessing the whole way through.
Thank you and I’m now searching for the rest of your novels.
Hooked me like a striped bream you have.

Doesn't quite live up to the first book.
I know the author specifically mentions in his notes at the end of the book that this is a different story from the first book, but it's so far removed from the original he really should have just tweaked the characters and turned it into a standalone novel. R C Bray absolutely and obviously nailed the narration - in fact I'm sure he's actually getting better every time I hear him!
Overall I wouldn't say don't listen, but if you do, and you're a fan of the first book, be prepared for a very, VERY different journey.

Continuation of Will’s story, but not of infinite
Good listen. Especially thanks to R.C. Bray. The story however just never goes anywhere. Feels like you’re listening to a bullied 12yo’s wet dream.
The dragon ball z ‘character progression’ towards the end, just gets boring. You aren’t missing out on much if you stop at infinite.

Brilliant
The first book was great but this new entry to the series was absolutely amazing and can only hope there will be a third book to this amazing series and as always R.C. Bray brings this story to life.

Sensational ride, with depth and humour! :)
After years of listening to scifi books, it becomes like an addiction, to find the next book to take you on an exciting journey, mystical locations and real life facts, to enchant yourself.
Infinite and infinite 2 were both well written, imaginative and creative with layers of mind bending excitement.
To be able to listen to these stories one needs a narrator to make you belive and R C Bray, rarely disappoints.
Awesome book, and great narration, I hope to find more journeys written by Jeremy Robinson and plenty more narrations brought to life by R C Bray.
Thank you!
