Who is he going to work with, and will that partner be able to handle him...including his (shall we say) slightly inflated ego of himself? Even if that ego is deserved, just a little? Chief is learning to be a little more supportive, except when Chief of Security Wulfson decides a few students deserve a little more intense training. With all of the additional injuries Kaiden suffers in his extra-curricular training, will he succumb to the blue goop pain killer?

Morgan's life is not easy. Growing up on the streets of City Four, he is constantly shunned by the other citizens. Morgan doesn't mind being ignored. Lord Simon wants him dead, but the laws of the kingdom are on Morgan’s side and even the guards won't kill him, just for being seen near his manor. Morgan’s time is running out, though. Publisher's Summary
It was just one fight, but it changed Kaiden Jericho's life forever.
He was in a gang but was trying to change his future, when a board member of the elite advanced academy NEXUS made a snap decision and offered him a chance.
Then fate, or an unbalanced genius, offered him another.
The Nexus Academy is for the elite trainees from Earth, and now trials from our alien allies, as they teach the future generation how to fight, lead, hack, spy, and many other talents and tactics.
Hired by companies, governments, and NGOs, these graduates work to pay off the massive debt their training at the academy accumulates.
You don't become the best of the best by staying alive. With the Animus, you are closer to perfection with each death you suffer.
Kaiden Jericho would rather skip the death part, thank you very much.
Includes special note from co-author Michael Anderle.

Somewhat Repetative
I am writing this after the first two books but I actually felt like there is sort of a pattern or routine to these books that I found got somewhat stale quickly. It feels like there is this starting vibe to how things go and it just sort of continues on. The main character is decent but not relateable.
I really like my books to be more in the 12-15+ hours and generally don't pull the trigger on books under 10 hours but I gave this a shot. I like that the world that was established is a bit different and has a little different feel than a lot of the other books out there right now but ultimately I wasn't really blown away. I think this series was alright, I don't normally go for Sci-Fi feeling books but I thought it was alright given its not normally my preference of books.

I don’t Understand How It received Any Good Reviews
The best way to describe the story and the characters is; Imagine you were a adolescent boy with few friends and you based what was “cool” on 1980’s B action movie and dialog. Now you author a book. This is the book you would write. The protagonist ONLY speaks and thinks with smart ass sarcasm. He is so annoying that I wish I were a character in the story just so I could punch him in the face. That story is so predictable (whatever makes the protagonist seem cool) that reciting the alphabet offers more mystery. Awful. You deserve a slot in the Nexus School if you can force yourself to complete the book.

Okay
The plotting is good, but the story-telling needs work. Personally tired of heroes with hick accents. The narration could have been the real problem with my inability to buy in, but the Candide, everything is too easy for the main character, story aspect was also annoying.

A Tech Harry Potter but sooooo much better.
I have been an audible listener for about five year, and this book is in the top five series I have found. It is a good blend of video games and real life without the normal downsides. For those who like a longer series it has the significant ways to grow as well as a good bit of foreshadowing. Thank you to the authors for a great book. Hope to see more of them sooner rather than later. (The stranger tips his hat and strolls away)

Not Fun! still waiting for the story to actually b
If you like plastic characters, annoying overconfident Texas cowboy stereotypes, and books that spend the whole time setting up the story, then this one is for you. I wanted an exciting adventure story with a litrpg twist, this book is not that. Instead I found this book full of annoying characters, with long spells of waiting for something to happen, or at least hoping the MC would finally do something besides training scenarios.

pretty great
Honestly, the only complaint about this fic that I have is that the protagonist is a little too annoying. He's arrogant and constantly cracking wise, which is kinda okay, but it gets to the point where he's cracking wise with every sentence and you just want him to stfu.
Everything in moderation. It makes him come off as two dimensional if that's his only setting. I'm hoping the author tones the sass down, I'd love him to show more of his Southern Charm.
Finally, this isn't really a litRPG. Some of the elements are there and teased, but not in this book. It's a scifi military/science academy with some kind of VR training room. It's unclear is said training device will have any real world applications, but it's only been teased so far.

Initially I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy this one, but I quickly found myself growing quite fond of it. The characters are interesting and help build excitement for the next installments.
Additionally, the author notes at the end of the book were a nice touch and I'm looking forward to what's coming next even more so than if I only had the story alone

Great narration but possibly a YA / juvenile
Scott Aiello has a great range. He does a good job in distinct characters.
I could not get a handle on this book. The first scenes give an impression of an adult ex forces protagonist. It turns out he is ex gang member. So fine. We have a nature chap.
Then suddenly he feels like a late teenager as he approaches the Academy. Then a couple of scenes he feels like a middle to young teen. The context also seems to change. The dialogue suggests early thirties but his attitude late school age.
I just could not work out why this academy seemed to be recruiting elite experts who had got a place through competition or parents influence. Some of the experts are special forces equivalents. Do SEALs get their parents to get them into Harvard?
A bit of a mish mash

It's pronounced Cores-man NOT Corpse-man
The story is great, however, only 2 things let it down and yes they are minor but for me, annoying. Scott's pronunciation of Corpsman (military medic) as Corpse-man (a zombie?) stood out like a sore thumb & his Australian accent was abysmal (as is 99.9% of anyone who's not Australians is). Did it ruin the novel? Absolutely not, was it cringeworthy Yup.

Narrator sucks at accents
Great story! Very entertaining! Definitely downloading the 2nd book. Loved the dynamics between Kaiden and Chief.
The Narrator (Scott?) sucks at accents, particularly on the Australian accent. As an Australian, I cringed so hard at hearing him talk like that. He sounded like he couldn’t decide if he wanted to sound bogan or as a Scottish person. And his narration between Sasha or Laury was too confusing. They sounded so similar at one stage then different in another. No consistency in their accent.

Happy Days
Enjoyable book to listen to if you’re open to the sci-fi fantasy aspect. Into gaming myself, the down side is that I’m hooked on it and will have to continue the other books…

Hard to imagine 11+ more books from here...
Wasn't sure at first, but it was an enjoyable read/listen.
Hard to see where there's room to grow though. Kaden is already a superstar in the first couple of weeks - defeating a top-secret war machine. At this rate he'll be god-king by book three.
I like the character though. Lots of fun.

Great book!
This book was great! Highly recommend it. I feel sorry for any narrator that has to do an Aussie accent. It’s so bad! Haha. But didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story.

FPS meets Hogwarts.
Although there are some familiar themes being played out here the style is fresh and interesting especially from a gamers point of view. I felt that barely anything had happened in this volume so I'm excited to read the other books in the series. The vocal performance was great with plenty of enjoyable characters (except maybe the Australian accent which is a touch too cartoonish). over all highly enjoyable fun.

entertaining book to listen to
The narrator does a fantastic job, loved the snarky banter between main character and everyone, well written and enjoyable to listen to would recommend. There is swearing but no sexualities explicit content in this book.

Chief is learning to be a little more supportive, except when Chief of Security Wulfson decides a few students deserve a little more intense training. With all of the additional injuries Kaiden suffers in his extra-curricular training, will he succumb to the blue goop pain killer?

Like most books that start off by building a new world a little bit slow.
