Publisher's Summary

It's everything but business as usual.

Emmie Elliot hadn't expected to come back to Metlin, California. She definitely didn't expect to stay. She returned to her childhood home with a mission: Sell the building that housed her grandmother's book store and move on with her life. But life doesn't always go according to plan. To reopen her grandmother's book shop, Emmie will need a hook. She'll need a strategy. She'll need an...Ox?

Miles Oxford doesn't have much interest in quiet bookstore owners. He's a tattoo artist without a space to work, and the last thing he wants is to get involved with anyone after his last disaster of a relationship. Work and pleasure don't mix for Ox, but since he doesn't have any interest in the cute girl with the bold business proposal, he should be safe from any awkward complications, right?

She sells ink. He tattoos it. Unusual? Yes. But a book shop/tattoo studio might be the ticket for both Emmie and Ox to find success on their own terms. As long as they keep their attention focused on business. Just on business.

Contains mature themes.

Ok

This is a nice time out by Hunter. The characters are likable enough, though it feels like they were decided upon more for commercial reasons - chosen from some “trending” list of socially desired attributes. I like her Scribe series better, but still wouldn’t mind one or two more in this series. I like this author enough that I’ve purchased some of her other series to read.

So in love!

Never have I ever wanted to be in the book more than I have reading this book. All I want to do now is go to INK and become friends with everyone in this book. I want the tattoos from Spider and Ox. I want to pick the brain of Emmie on the next book I should read. And all the book related shirts need to be available to purchase as well. I just loved this book so much and I want so much more of the characters and I can not wait to read the next book. I really think Elizabeth Hunter is truly amazing with her characters, stories, and this book is now one of my favorite. Even though it’s hard to say that since I love all her books, there is just something about this one that makes me so sad I am not best friends with Emmie.

I love sweet books that also has some type of interesting storyline this is one of those. The characters are charming in a small town way. This is not my first Elizabeth Hunter book but it is my favorite. this has become my second go to novel. I hope you l like it as much as I did.

Great story!

I had loved the book and really enjoyed the narration. It was my first Elizabeth Hunter novel but not my first audbile version. It was a pleasant surprise and felt like I was getting to know the characters all over again.

Meh

The story was a snooze. H is mediocre and h is timid and insecure. I’d heard good things about this book, but it didn’t live up to the hype for me

Great!!

I was looking for something to listen to during the daytime and this was it. I could work while I listened to it. Don’t listen to it around kids though!! Very good. Getting the second in the series now. Thanks

Great story.

I loved the story. The narrator was great except for the fact that she couldn’t seem to properly pronounce the word buttons. Normally not a big deal, but because one of the characters gets nicknamed buttons, it was really annoying.

4.5 stars

Really a great story. Held my interest and kept me interested. I did wish there was a bit more Open door with the sex scenes, but it didn’t completely take away for the intense heat between the 2 MC’s
Narrative was pretty good:)

Opposites attract

Emmie is a seemingly button up book store owner and needs another business in with hers to make it work. Miles "Ox" is a tattoo artist who is looking for a new place to work. Can they work together and not work on a relationship? A good story and narration.

just OK. typical romcom.

M.E is too unsure of herself for me. I like the cultural elements. never get enough of those in romance but even this was....tame
