Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.

It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

Publisher's Summary
The final book in The City Series is here!
Sunset Park is gone. People are missing.
Sylvie, Eric, and the other survivors have crossed the water to the security of a new Safe Zone, where they hope to heal their battered hearts, amass an armory, and get back at the ones who took it all away. But with zombies on the move and few resources to speak of, it’s harder than expected to plot their revenge. For some, it’s harder still to garner their resolve, since vengeance means more of them will die.
But safety is ephemeral in a city where food is short and tensions are high. It seems fate may leave them no choice but to fight - and perhaps die - to restore their city to a place they can call home.

I'm Not Ready to Let Go
I'm not going to waste our time telling you how wonderful this book/series is. Obviously, you know it is flipping fantastic since you've read/listened to 2 (but most likely 5) other books to get here. I'm also not going list all the spoilers I want to just to pacify my need to share every facet of this book like word vomit. I will say that while the closure of this series was lacking compared to the Until the End of the World series of this collection. It doesn't suck entirely. Still, I'm not ready to let go. I want to hear about what and how they rebuild all that was built before. I want to know more about the lives of those who survived. And I am hinging the hope this book will come on something one character said. To loosely paraphrase - This will be the only world our children will know. And they will have to fight in a war that will most likely never end.
Also, I was pleased to find the format of this book was the same first book. I really liked Therese Plummer narrating the female dialogue and Luke Daniels narrator the male's.

Loved this book, this series and this world! I can't believe it's over but I'm so glad I didn't have to wait because I started these series after they were complete. This book was so full of action and excitement and mostly more human than zombie issues. I loved Eric and Sylvie and loved the ending to their story, it was exactly what I needed! The losses in this book were hard and vast but understood. This author has an amazing way with writing that sucks you in completely, I started Until the End of the World 6 days ago and completed both series already. I need more!!!!
The narration was amazing! Therese and Luke were perfect together and Luke was above and beyond with all the voices.

Love the world she created
Sarah Lyons Fleming truly is a gifted writer. The worlds she creates are never too far away from reality (aside from the zombies). Her character development is most impressive. Each villain has some sort of redeeming quality, even when you wish them dead. Every character is relatable and I could find qualities of my friends and myself in each one.
I was absorbed in this world and hate that the series is over.

Way better than the 2 previous books. Strong story
The first 2 books I thought were ok. They were both a love story in a zombie world, the stories were strong enough that I kept listening and I love post apocalyptic zombie stories. This third book in the series is the best by far. The story is very strong with with lots of new and old characters. The action is intense with great character development. I highly recommend this if you have already listened to the first 2 books. I also recommend listening to the first 2 books if your just stumbling onto this as you need the whole story

Amazing ending to a truly engaging story!
I would never have considered myself a zompoc fan before I found these books, but boy was I wrong! I have read everything Sarah Lyons Flemming has written and I am seriously hungry for more!
This book was fantastic! It was the perfect ending to a really gripping a story! I fell in love with the characters, rooted and cried for them, cursed the enemies and quite literally ignored family, friends and tasks all weekend to finish it! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! The only sad thing thing about the book is that it had to end eventually. Me thinks I may just start from the beginning and enjoy them all over again!

What a great series.
While this is a zombie apocalypse series, it is also about human nature. The good, the bad, the selfish and the selfless. The characters were very well written and developed throughout the series. It's sad to see the series end. Although, maybe we'll get 1 more book with the siblings finally meeting. This was an awesome series and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I liked this series much better than the series about Cassie, who I found extremely annoying. Eric was badass! I did take 1 star away due to all the excessive descriptiveness and writing characters into the plot that were absolutely unnecessary and did nothing to advance the plot (Jin). There were several parts in the series where I cried or was yelling no, no, no, no, NOOOOOOO. I wanted to give only 1 star because of the ending of the final battle where one of my faves didn't make it but that wouldn't have been fair. I mean, Game of Thrones kills off beloved characters all the time and I still watch it.

In the minority.... sort of but not real
So I feel the need to cover the less than glowing bits that no one else seems to mind. So yes, this was long awaited for me and also deeply enjoyed. My criticism is small and more personal than anything. ****MAYBE POSSIBLE SPOILERS I ATTEMPTED TO KEEP VAGUE AFTER THIS POINT**** Sometimes, readers get more attached to secondary characters than the main of the main, and it's a little bit lame that this author seems way more willing to preserve the OTPs at the cost of nearly every secondary character people might care about. I'd consider it impressive how many the author is ready to kill off for both plot and proof she can bear to...but this feels a little like miracles magically (and expectedly) happened for the OTPs and secondaries were sacrificed to cover for the 'realistic death' quotient. There were also some that felt like an anticlimactic end to a great deal of building up. Basically the deaths that seemed 'worth it' for either plot or shock were few. Also there's no need to doggedly write quite so many sexual encounters when one is not comfortable in writing them. Either write them or write them a la Stephen King- the flirting, the lead in, then straight to aftermath. The sex was stunted and glossed but lasted too long to be either, and thus FELT like an author uncomfortable writing sex scenes to me... I'm happy with or without, but not this mildly awkward result. ALL THAT SAID, it was a satisfying ending to tale and worth the credit. Yep, I might have saved the most important approval bit for the endand kept it nondescript, but it's important to get a reader's ENTIRE opinion without skimping. I might have some very specific points of disappointment, but overall I will listen to it again happily.

it was okay
It's pretty repetitive to the other books, but is definitely better than the second book. There are still a ton of annoying moments, but they add in a bit of depth to the story as well as a few more characters that are actually pretty likable.
Silvy barely cared that her best friend from childhood never showed up and is probably dead, but God forbid her lover, Eric doesn't show up for 5 min.
Every bad person is just "misunderstood" which is annoying.
***SPOILERS***
What happens in book:
Life at the new safehouse. Silvy gets close to a guy with diabetes named Roger, he is the bad guy Walt's brother and he ends up letting in the bad brother who takes over the safe house and kills a bunch of people. Then they get their safe house back.
Overall it was better than the second book, but still not great.

awesome end to an awesome series....
I have loved all of Sarah Lyons Fleming's zombie stories, and this conclusion to the city series is as staggering as all the others. she really is a gifted, hard working and generous author; lavishing us with epic scale and detail, tragedy, humour, gore, heartstopping action and heaps of love. nothing is rushed, all our loved characters and new ones get lots of time and development. this book is over 15 hours, but never drags...
I love the struggle and the ingenuity and bravery of our heroes, but also their fallibility and mistakes and lack of clarity... it's brilliant writing... but mostly I love the hope and humanity, the love that underpins all these books. I've reread all the books several times, and they never fail to comfort, despite the subject matter.
oh, the readers mostly do their usual great job... I think Luke Daniels gets some of the other guys wrong, but with so many important characters it a very minor quibble, and probably inevitable... Therese Plummer is outstanding as ever.

Post Apocalyptic at its BEST!
Therese Plummer, is unequivocally the Best audio Narrator ♥️ Making you feel as if you are there with her, and Luke Daniels is not far behind and my favourite Male narrator 💙
Post Apocalyptic books are by far my favourite genre and Sarah Lyons Fleming does them The Best by far, with just the right amount of everything and giving what I would imagine post apocalyptic life would truly be like, or definitely as close it would be.
The struggle to survive not only Zombies, but the human monsters it would produce if the only laws left were ones people made up as they struggle to survive a new world.

This series is a slow burner and book 1 and 2 can drive you up the wall a bit with too much girly chit and chat and slightly unrealistic reactions to a world turned on its head but book 3 picks up speed and is full of twists and turns and non stop action. didnt enjoy books 1 and 2 but needed to know what happened. Did however enjoy book 3. Girls might prefer book 1 and 2 and enjoy them just fine. I'm a girl but a tomboy and got bored with all the giggles and girl chatting. voice overs were good too giving real life to the characters.

Not bad
There are parts of this that are exciting, but the YA novel tendency to skip over how people get from A-B or escape danger is annoying.

Great Stuff - Enjoyed This Trilogy Thoroughly
Long, interesting zombie stories without the usual self-hate for humanity on show in these things. Voice acting is excellent from both artists and the story is good fun. I don't often make it through an entire trilogy on Audible but I am glad I stayed the course for this one.

Brilliant, fantastic, amazing
SPOILER ALERT
I loved this books & I’m getting withdrawal symptoms already. So sad that this has ended. We could have more, maybe they all come together? Wishful thinking I guess but I am going to miss Sylvia, Eric & Cassie & Peter. Brilliantly written, thank you.

Can't wait for the next Series
Loved both the Until the End of World and The City Series, tried not to listen to a whole book to quickly but couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Hopefully Sarah Lyons Fleming brings out a new series very soon.

good story
I enjoyed the story but found the Male narrator's voices for characters other than Eric truly annoying to the point I almost gave up. if I could give seperate stars for each narrator I would give the female 4 but as I can't I'm giving only 2

One of the best series in this genre
I loved these books so much. The characters are all fantastic, even the bad guys come off as believable. Evil but not sick and perverted as is common for this genre.
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for other books from this author. Great narrators too

Fantastic Series
I listened to all 6 books of both 3 book sets in this series and loved them. They had a male voice for male POV and female for female POV. I really wanted it to go on - perhaps another two character viewpoints from now. These were great. Get them and listen.

brilliant, I am sad to see the story end as I've
really become involved in it. that's the kind of story it is.
I hate this comment box and the 15 word minimum, it makes writing anything a real drag. often I don't comment at all.

Always worth the wait
Book Three of the City series does not disappoint the only down side is that it is the last and the ride has ended.
It is a rollercoaster ride of joy, sorrow and laughter with a bit of love and survival thrown in. Really recommend the whole series and of course the Until the End of the World Series that can go before or after it. Waiting patiently for more from this author.
